Hey,

i just wanted to know, which Part of FF could you recommend me. I really love FF Games would die for a Remake of 7,8,9

Well i played 7,8,9,10,12,13

haven´t played 1,2,3,4,5,6,10-2,11,13-2,14

I Loved Part 7,8,9,10 part 12 and 13 not my thing. or should I give part 12 a chance? i just played 1/8 of 12.

or what part you could recommend me yet?

Unfortunately I can not make friends with the very old parts because of the grafik. Was there a Remake of 6?

Well what really fits your preference is either the DS remake of FF3 or DS remake of FF4. They have okay graphics.

If you don't like 12 at first sight, it's unlikely that you will like the rest of the game. But if you like doing sidequests and exploring the large world, then you may want to give it a chance. Though most people don't like the character development and story of this game.

There isn't a remake for FF6 yet. But if you can force yourself to the old graphics, FF6 will be an amazing experience.

If you don't like 13, then you won't probably like 13-2 either. 13-2 has better gameplay, but arguably worse story.

11 and 14 are online games.

10-2 will most likely ruin FF10's story because it goes really girly and stuff. But it has great gameplay and battle system.

6 actually does have a remake...of sorts. It's on Game Boy Advance, and is really more of a rerelease with a reformed script, spell names, added espers and dungeons, and several bug fixes. It does, however, remove the FMVs of the day from the game. It makes for a slightly smoother experience overall, though, removing a lot of the worse bugs and keeping the good intact.

I know. But it's more like a remaster IMO :hmmm:. This game still needs a proper 3D remake. Then again, it will have a high chance of being ruined by SE.

To be honest I don't think the sprite graphics in 4,5 and 6 are that bad. I prefer good 2D graphics to shit 3D graphics (i.e. FF7).

But yeah, if you don't like the pre-FFVII graphics you don't have too many options left. I haven't played 13-2 so I can't vouch for it. I like 10-2's battle system but the game as a whole isn't that great. There are also the DS remakes of 3 and 4, but I haven't played them.

Aside from that you could give Final fantasy Tactics a try on PSone or PSP. One of my favorite FF games. One of the few non-numbered FF games worth playing.

If you have a PSP you can also play the remakes of 1 and 2 which I found very enjoyable. They're still 2D games but the graphics are crystal clear.

weerrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrd

i'd say 6 1 4 2 3, in that order. Don't even buy FFXIII-2, rent it if you must simply have to experience the amount of bullshit contained within.

FFXII is well enough off, but if you don't enjoy it, then you don't enjoy it.

edit: yes, there is also the tactics spinoff series. I believe there is a Gameboy Advance, Nintendo DS, and PSone/PSP release. They are all different games, but Final Fantasy Tactics: War of the Lions presents a more mature and gruesome theme - as opposed to the nintendo games which revolve around a kid getting sucked into a book. Doesn't make them bad games, but I don't find them as interesting.

They are all still very similar in relation to how the battle system of each game works. I believe the Nintendo releases have judges who enforce laws (you recieve penalty cards and can be potentially removed from the battle if you use a banned ability) on a daily basis.

You should play FF10-2. Great storyline well detailed and everything, no fan-service, doesn't waste time on silly things. No pot-holes. Good music.

If 10-2 doesn't fancy you and if doesn't your mad.:pacman: Then[ FF IV and FF VI are quite good]. But they are not as good as FF10-2. FF 10-2 is just the greatest game ever created. So deep and emotional. :gasp:

* real answer is underlined. Just want to picture his face when he sees the change from serious Final Fantasy to a J-Pop type game lol *

As much as I hate to say it, I'd say play 10-2. The story is really fucking dumb but the battle system is really enjoyable!
Probably one of the best in the FF series....(besides 12 /smug)

6

Mod edit: The Doctor
Hi, I'm sure you know the rules. One liners like this can be considered as spam. Do elaborate the point a little. Thanks! =)

Final fantasy 6 is a great game but when I played it I was disappointed because I expected too much of the game after having read all the nice things fans said about it.. Most of the huge compliments to the game are exaggerated. If you will play 6 dont read anything about it regarding opinions and it will be an awsome experience I guess. I had never played 2d games before ( I completed ff6 in a month in feb or march), It was a little hard to get used to it at first but once you get over the graphics matter you will enjoy the game :)

Hey now, I rather liked X-2. Well, I have a love-hate relationship with it.

But anyways, OP: I would suggest playing FFVI first. Because, in the opinions of a lot of old school FF fans, it's one of the best. If not the best in the series. It's definitely one of my personal favorites. It has a fantastic story, great game play, and the graphics are actually pretty good considering when it was made. If graphics are a big deal, you can play the GBA version.

The older games may be a problem for you if you don't like the 2D graphics, I personally don't mind them and will often prefer the older looking games to the newer games that are all pretty and shiny, but lack a good story. I would say try to get past this prejudice for older graphics, if you can, and play the series from the beginning. Most have them have been ported to the GBA and some for the DS and PSP.

As for the newer games, I would suggest X-2 only if you want to continue the story but please be advised that the tone of the game is so much different from X. It's very "girly" and "silly" by nature. It took me off guard when I first played and I hated it. But then I actually gave it a chance and saw it has one of the best battle systems in the series. I suggest renting it and giving it a try. If you don't like it, then don't play.....and if you wanna see the Happy ending just look it up online. lol.

After X-2 you can try XIII-2 but since you didn't like XIII that much... you may not want to play it. It's pretty much the same battle system as the previous game. The story has gotten mixed reviews. Some thought it was interesting, and other thought it was downright stupid. I haven't played it yet so I can't give you my opinion.

As for XI and XIV....they're MMO's and idk how you feel about them. I personally don't like playing MMO's and I have found that a lot of FF fans generally don't go for them either. XIV scored horrible ratings, and XI is a pretty old game for an MMO. I'm not sure if I would waste my money to play either one.

I've always loved IV, but I've never played the DS version. I guess if you're really not down with the 2d graphics I would recommend that because it has a great story.
