Alright, so you start off the game by passing your SeeD test. Only a very select few pass it. They go on to be incredibly important heroes and savez teh worlds. The only problem is... you're this guy named Nida, who passes the exam and does nothing of consequence for the rest of the game. Why is he in this game? He drives Balamb Garden later, big whoop... he should have been a main character. Did he not meet the emo qualifications for saving the world in slit-wrist-land?

I think Nida plays an important role by being someone in Garden that Squall can share similarities to. In that they both Graduated at the same time. Nida helps Squall realize that the students in Garden look up to SeeD and him. Nida may not be a fighter as such and would not have been sent on the Timber mission with them and thus didn't get involved in everything that happened. He could have been a medic or an intelligence member which would explain why he stays in Garden.
 
I never really thought about him tbh, just because they passed at the same time doesnt mean they will be doing the same missions, I mean at first, all that is happening is you get sent off to Timber with Selphie and Zell, I guess one of those guys could have easily been Nida, it just...wasn't. Although, it is abit of a coincidence that the people you get sent on the mission with you were at an orphanage with, I mean how did Cid know to send who he did, only Squall went back in time to the orphanage so.......ugh, I dunno, maybe he was on a team that involved mechanics or....driving...or...somehing

It sorta worked, i mean he drove garden, so maybe he had some sorta experience at driving things like that:wacky: as opposed to selphie who instantly learnt how to pilot a space ship even tho she had no prior knoledge of anything!!
Uhmmm also if i remember he had good cards and was fairly easyto beat, so yea his main purpose was for all those things..
 
So Nida passed the SeeD exam at the same time as Squall, Selphie and Zell. Big deal. Okay so
he's not out saving the world; his job is still a very important one for his part. He flies the Garden around and occasionally gives words of encouragement
to Squall. If these aren't important tasks, what are?!
 
Yes, because taxi driver and world hero are social equivalents. I'm sure he's just as happy and doesn't cry himself to sleep every night. Seriously though, why would they include him. I don't find it odd that he became the driver of Balamb Garden, I find it interesting that they developed his character in the beginning and then never payed attention to him again.

And to the point that he might have had other skills or not been a fighter, he's a god damn mercenary for crying out loud. Who tries to be a world renown mercenary if you can't fight!? That's a pitiful argument. He went to Dollet and fought... he proved his worth there. Why would he not go onto join the other new SeeD's in Timber?
 
I quite like it how there's one NPC who passes the SeeD exam, Cid even tells him when he's talking to the new SeeDs, "Do your best, even if you don't stand out". He's not around much but oddly he's become one of my favourite NPCs in FFVIII.
 
Maybe he went on other missions while the others were helping Rinoa, or he was a pilot only cuz he didn't have any GF to junction (that's why Seifer gets his ass whooped)!
Or could it have been the fact that he was scared of a sorrceress who could bend time at her will! I'm sure u would have been! There are some things that freak out even the most professional mercenaries...
BTW he was probably also defending the Garden when it crashed into GG!
 
Why would he get sent on the same mission as Squall just because they graduate at the same time. What about every other SeeD in Balamb? He could have been sent somewhere else before he started driving the garden around.
 
I wondered what happened to him myself. I remember him passing the SeeD exam as Cids remark to him made me chuckle. To me, he was saying "Your not as important as these 3, but hey, never mind!" I guess he just went on his merry little way after driving the Garden lol.

:jon: oh , and i think it can help you , but i think i do not know it clearly , when i have time , and i will ask for your help.
 
Nida is your average guy who's happy with his life style and who did not have a major trauma growing up, i guess that's why he did no qualify to be one of the main characters.

He did play a major role against Galbadia Garden nonetheless as if it was not him then it would have been impossible for Balamb to pull that final assault which gave them victory, so i guess we can say that was his big moment.

I personally wish i could have played with him and Xu during some part of the game...but that was not to be.
 
Hey dont insult ff 8 , Nida plays a big role in garden since he is one of its leaders and he is a high rank seed o and a master card gamer. Nida is Nida he doesnt need to be a infight usable character to proof his usefulness.
