you can call me mad or whatever
but I am taking on the ultimate challange of Beating FF7 with NO memory card.
WHY
I want to challenge myself and see how good I actually am at FF7
I will start on monday/tuesday when I get my copy.

Complete VII with no memory card?!

That sounds like madness! You need to sleep! The fact that it's an RPG too will mean it will take longer to complete than a game like Uncharted 2!

Good luck then! Just actually remember to sleep!

C'mon now guys. You know the rules. We don't go posting one-liners in the post count section. Please try and put a little more effort into your posts.

Also, you have seriously got to be crazy...you'll have your PS2 or whatever on non-stop and having it on that long, you risk overheating it. Are you going to just sit there for days on end and play a game with no memory card? Aren't you going to sleep or eat? Man, you're crazy...I've never heard of somebody actually doing that.

I must say, you are one crazy fool. I really don't recommend doing this unless you do it on the PS3 as that doesn't overheat at much with continuous use. However, do it on a PS2 or even a PS1 then you are fooked mayte cos I actually tried to do this once and my PS2 overheated and never turned on again, I actually ruined the last disk too because when it overheated it completely ruined the disks surface.

I DO NOT RECOMMEND DOING THIS CHALLENGE.

I would try, I would.... but... I can only imagine hoe messed up I would be If I lost and all I had to do was beat the Final Boss. I mean, thats like resurecting my anger issues. Good Luck with your attempt, my crazy, but bold friend.

I would try this, too, but I'm scared that my PS2 will overheat and shut right off. x.x;;
That is my one fear. I've done this before with Zelda games only because I am able to beta them within a whole day's play.But an RPG? I can't image my PS2 being on for that long x.x;;

Good luck to you and anyone else who dares to try this!
THIS IS
MADNESS!

Its do able on the psp, since you can put it in sleep mode. So whatever progress you made on the game you can return to it by just moving the switch up. However, if you hold the switch for 5 seconds then i'd worry because that turns the psp off completely.

Instead, challenge yourself to do the right thing. Save the game, save the environment.

LOLOMG that should be a PSA!

No but seriously, go green, use a memory card. Otherwise, I can just think of all the lag time in between your play where you'll leave your console on. That's a no-no.

That's going to use up a hell of a lot of electrical power and possibly blow up your power cords. I wish you luck, but for the love of God remember to sleep. VII takes quite a long time TBH. :gasp: And your console might overheat. The PSP comment might be a good idea though. A No Memory Card challenge in general sounds a bit foolish and I've never heard of someone attempting it with such a large game.

Good luck with it, it'd sure as hell be an achievement if you manage to do it. However, like people have said, don't do it solely because your PS/PS2 is most likely to konk out half way through due to overheating. If you insist on doing on though, I'd recommend buying it on the PSN store if you have a PSP then at least there's a quick off button that will keep the game running, just on a MUCH lower power level.

If you have the bulky PS2 you'll be fine, if however you have the slim PS2, you'll have to sit the game in one playthrough non-stop. I've left my bulky PS2 on for over 48 hours and it's worked fine...worked fine when doing the 24 hour races for Gran Turismo 4 too.

Good luck with it, it'd sure as hell be an achievement if you manage to do it.

Pity you dont unlock one for this lol.

Man, your poor console and electricity bill!! Ive not heard of this being done before and will you prove it for us lol? That would be a Youtube classic! Good luck man, but seriously have a good think bout it because stuff can go wrong, powercut, powercords blowing up or your console. Or your party dies in a battle. I dunno, but good luck.:yay:

ahhh! this is maddness!!! maddness i say! that would actually have to go in some sort of record book or something if you do! what happens if you do die in battle though? are you just going to start again and again until you complete it?! i think this should be a competitive sport :)

well I am about to start this and will keep updated on my Lv's and where i am and how well i have done.

wish me luck

I don't doubt that it could be done, though, I could never sit and do it in one sitting, knowing my luck, my electric would run out and Id lose all my progress...

Good luck with that pal

Actually, Id die on the fucking Demon wall knowing my luck, that gets me everytime

Well I think that is insane how can anyone do that. That is like a project. Well good luck man if you do it your epic!!!!!!!:monster::monster::monster:

if you have a ps3 or psp your fine i did it on the ps3 the game takes about 74 hours to do everything you can without dieing a disc a day 3 days but tbh i got to disc 3 and was so hungry and tired i just couldn't go on i think i was going crezy just sitting in front of the screen

but take these tips that i used the first day you start have a whole bunch of friend over to watch and cheer it does help

day 2 i got my girlfriend to slap me every half an hour so i stayed alert and if your a loser and don't have a girlfriend lol get your brother or sister or even mother to do it

day 3 my girlfriend came up with the idiea to splash ice cold water on my pants every few hours that kinda works

but guy if you want to do this i think do the don't die challenge not no memorycard challenge

Seems a little crazy but due able. Can you pause and take a break? I dont know if i could sit in front of a TV that long without going insane.

wow you must have alot of time on your hands.
Just make sure that you have a toilet nearby, if you get into the game then you never know!

Well enjoy it and good luck, keep me updated!

Haha that will take awhile? Don't you have school or work to deal with too? Man even if you had nothing going on it could take you 35 hours straight of playing!
