Anyone ever try one these games?

I'm coming to the end of a NSGNSNC game, i just need to get haste armor for yuna and then I can fight BFA.

For those who don't know

NSG- no sphere grid

NS- summon

NC- no customize

There's other challenges that can be done too, with no overdrive and no escape.

I've done a few for FFVII. Things like enemy skill only or nmie (no materia initial equip only). Though the hardest challenge for FFVII is llnmie (low level no materia initial equip). The lowest you can get in FFVII is lvl 29. Also I was just thinking of asking that question when I saw this.
 
Enemy skill only sounds fun, although I bet no materia/initial equip sucks. Is it just a lot of leveling?

And yeah everyone has base HP, so 1030 Auron is highest. You could use a Soul Spring (might need to be corrected on name) to double HP though. Basically you use Rikku to beat the game. You get through by killing bosses before they attack you.

The worst part is when you have to catch fiends for Masamune. Getting haste armors for everyone takes awhile too.

I'm also doing a challenge.. NSGNSNCNONENNENBB!!! (There is a walkthrough about it on gamefaqs.com)

No Sphere Grid, No Summon, No Customization, No Overdrive, No Escape, No 'No Encounters', No Blitzball. This challenge is NO JOKE.

I'm proud to say that I killed Greater Sphere. One Candle Of Life, about 400 Potions, Hi-Potions etc used, 2 hours of my life, a lot of sweating and praying, and BOOM! He's dead.
 
I'm not sure I could handle that challenge. There are too many tough boss battles that you have to refight for the good drop and too much backtracking for steals. It would take a lot of time and a lot of swearing for sure.

Has BFA been beaten yet in that challenge?

One more question, you have to use sos haste armors for that challenge right? How long did it take you to get armor for everyone; I can't get Bashura to drop that damn haste ring.
 
I'm not really interested in these type of things. Can appreciate the difficulty of pulling it off though.

I just enjoy making the characters stronger and trying to max everything out. :)

I can't believe I didn't pick up on it, I'l let the other post slide, anddelete this one,seeing as it's not really necessary to the topic xD

The idea of doing something like a NSG game brings me out in cold sweats, I have a hard enough time doing things whilst trying to max the sphere grid, how I would hope to do anything optionial is beyond me

Kudos to anyone that does this, I just don;t have the patience

Yeah, it suck when you're on Mushroom Rock Road or Djose Highroad. Waaay too many KO's. As for BFA, according to the walkthrough, no not yet.
Wow, SOS Haste, hmm, it really just takes killing tonnes of Ogres and hoping for one. But yeah it's a bitch to do.
 
Awhile back I tried NSGNCNONENZ. I killed Neslug. I will never ever be able to explain that. No Sphere Grid, No Customize, No Overdrive, No Escape, No Zanmato. Neslug took almost 5 hours. Anyways some challenges are pretty scary. I never tried your challenge LordEternal.. I'd be surprised if I could get very far. I do know a lot about the game though so I'm sure I could get something done.
 
These types of challenges aren't really for me, I don't have the patience nor the skill for things like this. I just prefer playing the game normally, with no stipulations. I did however, beat the game with no customisation (mainly by accident, because I never took the time to customise shit).

But I don't think I'd be able to do a NSGNSNCNONENNENBB (See LordEternal's post, because I cba explaining what it is). I lift my hat to people who try these challenges though.
 
Respect to do those challenges. I find Final Fantasy challenging as it is. Just gonna level a lot and kick ass. But I always like to see those vids on youtube about low level challenges. THey are really awesome and lets u c the potential of those players.
 
The thing is, these challenges aren't as bad as you guys think (except for NSGNSNCNONENNENBB, which would really suck). Atleast try a regular NSG game, that shouldn't be too hard. Just remember...

-Rikku has a really good overdrive and steal
-Stone Breath is really helpful
-First Strike (Sonic Steel, Macalania) allows you to run from all battles, or switch to Auron (shooting star), Rikku (mix, use, steal), Kimahri (stone breath), or Yuna (summon)
-Always have lots of phoenix downs
-Rikku gets you through the game

I find I get through the game faster doing a NSG than a regular game actually. Some of the fights can even be easier than regular, if you look into it you'll see it's not as bad as you think.
 
I just can't get into challenges like that for this game or any other FF's really for that matter. I'm the kinda gamer who likes to get EVERYTHING when he plays through a game and enjoy my game in the mean-time.

I haven't really seen anyone go through these challenges successfully that I've known so it's hard for me to say how hard it really is. I could see a lot of frustration coming out of this not too far into it though.
 
It is, blood sweat and tears. Even when I got to the end I started to wonder, WHY THE FUCK DID I JUST SPEND 1013 HOURS OF MY LIFE ON THIS. No joke that's how long the game clock ran. I left it on overnight a lot, boss battles take awhile.
 
I've never attempted a challenge like that, I don't think I'd enjoy it, I like getting things too much :P
Kudos to those woh manage to do these though!
