[h=1]PS4 specifications – 500 GB hard drive, Dual Shock 4 costs $59[/h]In a press release marking today’s E3 press conference, Sony has given a number of new nitty-gritty details regarding the PlayStation 4′s hardware, pricing and accessories.
The PlayStation’s 4′s initial colour scheme is officially called “Jet Black” and launch models are known as the CUH-1000A series.
The console’s body has ben engineered to be slim and light, with linear flat form factors. The body is cosmetically divided into four sections, with buttons and disc slot between the four “blocks”.
The power indicator glows blue when on, and the sides of the console are slanted to allow easy access to control in either horizontal or vertical position but conceal cables.
At launch, peripherals will include a DualShock 4 Wireless Controller (RRP $59/€59/£54) and PlayStation Camera (US$59/€49/£44) in Jet Black.
While it did not confirm launch line up, Sony said there are 110 games in the works, and the number of developers with plans for the system has increased from 126 to 505. There are 30 titles in the work at 12 first-party studios. Of these, 20 will be available within one year of launch.
Although final specs are subject to change, the console apparently has a 500GV HDD as standard – although some of this will be reserved for system software.
