I'm now ready to fight Omega but i need a guide, My characters that not long ago beat Yiazmat didn't last very long against OW.

The Piggyback guide i have only has 2 paragraphs on it and it is very basic.
I can't find a walkthrough on Gamefaqs, Can anyone give me a good strategy or a link to one?

You have to have accepted Yiazmat but don't have to have fought him.

Ohhh. I see. I was on my way to getting Ultima and came across Omega and I ran around it 10 times. I was like "wtf"

Hi,

I havent been there yet, but I have a pretty good guide, so I am attaching it to my post, feel free to download it. I found it somewhere on the internet, all the credit goes to the guide author of course :)

Oh, as I see, I can not upload the walkthrough. I will try it later on from my home connection. Sorry...

The USA/EU version of it is alot easier than the JAP version. All you have to do is have 2 buffers and 1 attacker which has bubble belt equipped and just cast reverse and decoy on the main attacker.

Omega's a piece of p*** regardless of what kind of strategy you employ against him.

He'll be taken out in a couple of mins, no problemo.

Health points: 1,000,000/10,000,000 (He has 10 million health points in
the Japanese version of the game, but he has 1 million health in the North
American version of the game.

Absorb: Holy

Location: The Great Crystal
Difficulty: Varies at what level you are.

Recommended Level: 95 or higher strongly recommended, however it's possible
to defeat Omega Mark XII at lower levels.

Recommended Gambits
- Ally: HP under 50% - Use Curaja
- Ally: Any - Arise
- Ally: <INSERT A PARTY MEMBER'S NAME> - Decoy
- Ally: <INSERT A PARTY MEMBER'S NAME> - Reverse
- Foe: Party member's target - Attack

How to find: You'll need to go through a long trek through The Great
Crystal to fight this boss. Be at least above level 85 to ensure you won't
die. You also need to have at least accepted the Yiazmat hunt.

Note: I recommend you use this with the map of the Great Crystal on GameFAQs,
it's harder to do without it and it gets confusing without using the map.

From Waystone IX, take the teleporter to Waystone XX. Take
one of the two paths that are right of Sag. Gate II. Head to a dead end for
the alter that deactivates a Seg gate. Deactivate Sag. Gate II. Take the
path there to Waystone XII. Take Waystone XII to Waystone XIV. Head right to
another platform, then go straight to the Leo alter that deactivates a
Leo gate. Head back to Waystone XIV and take the path you didn't take. From
that platform head up, then go right, then go left, then slightly right to
Leo Gate II, and unseal it quickly. Take any path from there to get to
Waystone XV, and use it to get to Waystone XVI. Go straight/middle path
to go to a Libra Alter, and go left from there to unseal a Libra II Gate.
Head left, then straight, then straight again to find a Capricorn Alter.

Activate it and head back to the Waystone XVI, then head to the right path
(left in your direction), to unseal a Capricorn Gate I. Go in and find an
Alter that unlocks a Virgo path, then head to the Libra Gate II, but take
the Virgo Gate I opposite to it on the platform, then head in its direction
and take a left to Waystone XVII. Use it to get to Waystone XVIII, go
save at the save crystal if you want to, and head left to the Aquarius
Alter. Now, head to the Libra Gate II, and head straight to the platform
next to it, then head right to an Aquarius Gate I. Go to the platform
before that, and get straight instead of right and go to the Capricorn
Alter and run to Libra Alter (go backwards from where you are two
platforms, then head left), then from the Libra Alter head left and unseal
Capricorn Gate II. We're almost done.

Head to Aquarius Gate I, which from where you stand now, head backwards,
right, left, and right, then go to the Taurus Alter. Unseal it, and
quickly run to Capricorn Gate II, from where you stand is backwards, left,
right, left. Then head past where Capricorn Gate II was and head straight
past it, then unseal the Taurus Gate I, and turn right. The next few paths
are pretty linear, so just keep taking the Waystones until the numbers of
them keep getting higher and higher. If you can't attack him, he's sleeping
and you need to (sadly) retreat and accept the Yiazmat hunt. If you have
the Japanese version, you MAY have to defeat all Espers in the game, but
I'm not sure, but you should defeat all Espers just in case, as it's a very
long trek.

Battle Strategy is going to be over here. Be careful of Omega Mark XII.
Omega Mark XII can deal a lot of damage, but no bad status effects,
thankfully. I recommend you put Bubble Belts on your three paryt characters,
as casting Bubble will cost you too much time, and Bubble is a need.
Omega Mark XII can hit for 5,000+ constant damage every few seconds. Now, I
recommend that you have the spells "Reverse" and "Decoy" to make this
battle much easier. If you don't have Reverse, just keep attacking him, but
you'll need to heal your characters often. The battle is much harder without
Reverse, but recently I've defeated him a few more times (new game reloads/
playthroughs) without it, it's possible, but this is what happens (in
example).

Omega Mark XII hits Vaan for 5,000 damage. Vaan gets knocked out.
Balthier revives Vaan with Arise. Balthier gets hit with 5,000 damage.
Omega Mark XII hits Balthier for 5,000 damage. Balthier gets knocked out.
Basch revives Balthier with Arise. Basch gets hit with 5,000 damage.
It then keeps going.

Casting Reverse on a party member and Decoy/Lure is MUCH easier. When Omega
Mark XII hits a party member, he'll heal him/her instead for 5,000+ damage.
Decoy/Lure focuses all foes to attack one target, you basically you want
Omega to attack your character with Reverse. Make sure you make a Gambit
for doing this. Your Magic Points shouldn't get low unless you're playing
the Japanese version of the game, use Ethers/Hi-Ethers if you're getting
low on health points. When Omega's health gets low, his attacks will start
hitting above 7,000 damage each hit, and his defence will raise. Just keep
doing this, and you should easily win this battle.
