hey guys you guys must know who i'm reffering to:D

i can't seem to remember why he was called One Winged Angel, its been a long time since i last played vii... so anyone care to refresh my memories?
 
Because in the last battle against him he transforms into a mutlicolored angel thing, with 1 arm and 1 wing. interestingly enough the wing has all the colors of the previous Jenovas in it.

also in AC before he tells Cloud that he wont be a memory he has 1 wing....
 
Yeah, I think the name is pretty self-explanatory. One-Winged Angel. Hmmm, I wonder what he looks like... O! How bout a guy with one wing! An angel wing! Doi! lol

The first bit only started the rumour. SE heard the rumour and decided to acclaim its truthfulness in AC. AC was the confirmation of the One-Winged Angel title.

Er.. actually Seph appeared with the single angel wing in the first Kingdom Hearts long before Advent Children came out (and probably before it was too far even into pre-production, as they were still using the character designs from the original game).

I can't believe everyone's missed the biggest (and earliest) mention of One-Winged Angel so far...It's the name of the song on the FFVII soundtrack:blink:.
 
I CANT REMEMBER BUT I COULD GUESS THAT HE WAS TILL THIM THER MISSIONAND THAT WAY THEY CALLED HE ONE WING ANGEL I THINK:)
 
Satan used to be an Angel, he fell and lost one wing so basically a One Winged Angel is an evil one, therefor Sephiroth would easily fit the title of One Winged Angel.
 
the only reason they called it "Advent: One-Winged Angel" in Advent Children is because he had one zombie wing in the final batrtle in the game.

hint that they call it "Advent" OWA. Advent means "about to come"
so maybe if Sephiroth DID Win. he would rule has the One-Winged Angel he was in game.
 
I would say because his final form has one major wing. One Winged Angel means fallen angel. So Sephiroth is just really known as the one winged angel.
 
The title of One Winged Angel began as just the name of the final boss fight music. With the wing that replaced Sephiroth's right arm.

It became a popular reference for Sephiroth so Square fleshed it out making the KH Sephiroth have a single wing on his shoulder then gave the AC Sephiroth one as well.

It is something that evolved after the first game was released, it started as nothing but a part of Sephiroth's fallen angel symbology but has evolved to take a place in his character and a larger part in the FFVII universe where others have developed wings.
 
Well, I am sure that there are many different theories. Mine is that the game writers probably thought that it sounded evil and spooky, and thus molded a final boss around it.

Perhaps not, but it would explain why they forgot to include difficulty in the programming for Safer-Sephiroth.
