Did anyone else think the game went overkill with information about completely random and useless crap? I like that they included a lot of information for the creatures you battled but some were just moronic. For the humanish creatures, there were like 6 pages of random fairy tale information and just completely bogus gibberish. Why did they waste time with that? I can't tell you enough about Penelo to fill a page... and yet I can tell you 6 pages worth of crap about those sand men!

Maybe they wanted it to actually look like beastiery or whatever. Like alotta research went into finding out what the monsters were. But I never read them because they weren't that interesting.

Yeah. That info was useless. I never read it again after about looking into 4 or 5 files, it was boring as hell.

At least they put effort into making a proper bestiary. Not saying I would be looking through all the info myself, but this is probably the first shot at making an indepth bestiary for an original title.

Hm. I must not have seen that part of the files, I just sell anything that doesnt heal hp, conditions, or revive members.

I agree. Some of the info tells you what loot to sell to get certain items.
So i thought it was not completely useless.

he's right. it was useful at times, but i still found the info to be very interesting. i read them all the time.

Ironically, the bestiary was probably the most indepth part of the game; unfortunately, it was probably the least needed area to spruce up.

Character backstories! We should have found out more history and personalities of the characters!

From what I have seen, the only characters I have had problems with finding indepth info on is Pennelo. Everyone else I have seen a lot for, and that's just during cutscenes and FMV's.

Back to topic..can anyone give me a screenshot of what a sample entry would look like?

Information doesn't necessarily have to help you. It's simply there to inform you of things.

I found the bestery pretty good but after reading for a good while I would want to get back to the game.. But it is informative for goods and whereabouts.. Wish they had as much info as far as text on the main characters.. seems you just get the basics

Yea, any of the pictures found on this page about sum them up:

As for the topic, I like that they did it. There was a lot of cool things (like about the summons) that I loved reading. But a lot of it was completely unneccesary. It was pointless 80% of the time. But it was cool how certain one's refered to Final Fantasy Tactics and that kind of thing.

it was pointless and completely useless all i wanted to do was finish the game

i dont know what your talking about. When you are looking for a particular loot for a specific bazaar item, all you have to do is browse through the bestiary and you'll know which monster to kill....

Sometimes they do have too much information on random junk, but I guess it's just to increase the amount of playtime ( lol. .. .. )

I think that's part of why they included it... but I think it's horribly inefficient. Not to mention, there are a lot of creatures where they don't include any of that type of information. I'd understand if they gave the skinny on drops of every creature and then some backgroun history... but they don't. It's hit and miss.

Speaking of which, did anyone complete the entire bestiary yet?

That was lame.
Also, if I kill 13 sandmen why did I get a story about like Rabanastre's Founding?(That's an example but you do get alot of random stories)
