Here goes...

Name: Marryn
Age: Unknown
Gender: Female
Species: Valkyrie

Appearance
Marryn is a very beautiful looking woman. She has long golden hair that reaches almost to her waist. Her skin is pale, but looks slightly yellow from the radiance of her hair. Her eyes are an abnormal blue colour, but have a gaze that would catch any man’s attention if he is weak minded.
Here’s a picture showing what her clothing looks like:
http://www.meristation.com/EPORTAL_...Rol/5c/IMG2-cw440243279a0d9/art-valkyrie1.jpg
Note that everything else other than the clothing is different. She also has a large pair of wings on her back. Her body is slender and Marryn is a little shorter than the average woman in their twenties.

History
(Will be worked on in her first RP.)

Abilities

Re-Animate Dead: (ORPG Only) Marryn can summon the dead, but only in places where there have been dead people. Old battlefields or fortresses, or any war sites like that are the best places to call up the dead. They dig themselves out from the earth, and they are a very fearsome sight. Their bodies are half-decayed and have many lost limbs. However, a liquid-like substance replaces the lost limbs. They constantly wail and moan, sounding like a hundred people drowning out in the ocean. These are very much like zombies, just mindless beings completely at the mercy of Marryn. (RPB) In battle, Marryn can still use this ability, though she cannot summon more than five dead creatures. She very rarely fully summons a dead creature, but she often uses the ability for dead hands to poke out of the earth to grasp her opponent’s ankles in an iron-grip. This hold cannot be broken, but they only keep hold for one post (By the opponent). One downfall is that her opponent still has full manoeuvrability of their upper body; therefore they can still dodge a lot of her attacks. This grab can also be dodged if her opponent is aware of what is about to happen. In order to keep the dead summoned in battle, Marryn would have to call up a large amount of energy. Though it doesn't tire her out, she will be more focused on controlling the dead than her own movements, therefore making it difficult to dodge any direct attacks on her. When she uses this, she tends to stay well away from the battle to let her dead creatures fight.

Banish: Marryn can banish any summons from her opponent as soon as they have been summoned. In ORPG’s she can banish any of the "weaker dead", such as zombies, etc, etc.

Fly: What do ya know… Marryn can fly!

The Grail of Wounding: Marryn can summon up a pillar-like object, which would just stand there in the battle arena. This pillar is unbreakable, and cannot be sent away unless by Marryn herself. The purpose of this pillar is to take wounds in Marryn’s place. The wounds would be inflicted upon Marryn’s body, and she can decide whether to send the wound on to The Grail of Wounding. If she chooses to do so, the wound on her body would disappear and an exact replica of the wound would appear on the pillar. After receiving a number of heavy wounds, the pillar would start oozing out blood, and then it would just crumble away soon after. When this happens, Marryn will be cast into death. The good thing about this technique is that the wounds Marryn gains will no longer affect her until the deathblow has been struck. Marryn can only transfer wounds bad enough to limit her movements. Any minor cuts won't be transfered over.

Flame Absorption: An ability that is activated as soon as Marryn enters battle. When someone tried using any form of fire magic on her, it would merely spread out and surround her and then enter her body. The fire would heal any wounds inflicted upon her, though lost limbs cannot be replaced.

Necromancer’s Honour: This ability decreased damage inflicted by the average dead foe by half. Against the more stronger dead, this will still decrease some of the damage inflicted by them by a reasonable amount. Mere scratches or slashes that barely hit Marryn won’t affect her at all. However, a direct hit would cause a considerable amount of damage upon her though not as much as the same attack from a living creature.

Sword Duplication: Don’t let the name make you think otherwise. This ability, when used, allows Marryn to make an exact replica of her opponent’s weapon and, in addition, instantly learn their style of fighting with that weapon only. To use this ability, Marryn would thrust out her sword towards her opponent and a wave of energy would spread out in that direction. At close range, a hit is inevitable unless her opponent is aware of the attack. Though at a distance, it can be dodged. Her sword would then change into whatever weapon her opponent possesses, and she will be as skillful as her opponent in using it.

Lances of Sound: Marryn would let out a loud screech, and arrows of light would flash towards her opponent at the speed of sound. There are eight arrows in total. Although one doesn’t inflict a lot of damage, all eight of them would inflict a considerable amount of damage. This attack is dodgeable, to the more cunning foes. As soon as she takes a deep breath, that means she is about to use the technique. But then again, one won’t know until they have actually seen her use it.

Wyrm Seeking: (ORPG Only) Marryn can look at anyone and tell if they are possessed by any form of evil beings. This also gives her the ability to detect where any form of "dark" creature is located. This means she’ll know if there are any vampires, werewolves, or any other such creatures nearby.

The Grail of Revealing: Calling up a pillar very much like The Grail of Wounding, Marryn can reveal an opponent’s true identity. This won't work on those with abilities powerful enough to hide their true identity. This, when called upon, can also be used so that Marryn can see past any form of invisibilty, magic and devices alike.

Weapons

Sword of Ruthlessness: This sword looks exactly like the one in the image above. It is unbreakable, and when wielding it, Marryn will show no mercy when fighting her opponent. This sword deals almost twice the amount of damage any normal sword could inflict.

Shield of Purgery: This shield can also be used as a lethal weapon. A retractable blade is hidden beneath the shield. The blade is twice the length of an average spear point. The blade is unbreakable, though the shield isn’t. If the shield is broken, the blade can be taken out and used in close range combat like a hunting knife. The shield is resistant against magic, and can handle more physical damage than a steel shield, but only a little more.

Armour

Armour of Gods: This armour was forged by the dwarves in the times of the Norse gods. It is said that it was to be one of the gifts of Loki, but he had hidden it for reasons only he knew. This armour had lost a lot of its original power, but it is still stronger than the average knight’s armour. This armour is also very light, due to the magic the Dwarves had imbued within it so Marryn can move about freely and swiftly without any discomfort.

She sounds cool especially w/ her being able to summon the dead. Although I couldn't see the picture of her. It wouldn't allow me too.

Another character!

Name: Bakuub (Meaning ‘Straight Spear’ in the Yautja language)
Age: 405 years old
Gender: N/A (Well be classed as a ‘he’)
Species: Yautja (Predator)
Rank: Honoured - The Elite Hunters of Yautja society. They have earned hundreds of kills and own the wonderful Naginata - a prized weapon.

Appearance
Predator is a very fearsome sight for mortal eyes, even when he is masked. His mask is made of metal has a barely noticeable slit for him to see through. The mask covers his face and the top of his head, and it can withstand a fair amount of damage. Going down the sides and back of his head are what look like dread-locks that reach down to around his shoulders. Without his mask, Predator is even more fearsome. His face is reptilian-like, and he has four claws around his jaws. These claws are black and the rest of his skin is dark green and seemingly wrinkled. His eyes are cream coloured with small black dots as pupils. His dread-locks are black in colour and are quite thick. Below are some pictures to get a good idea of what he looks like:

Looks ugly, don’t he? :D Most people won’t be able to look at him without cringing or cowering, that is unless they are living in worlds were creatures of similar appearance also live. But even so, Bakuub is a VERY fearsome sight. Standing just over two metres tall and weighing just over 130 kilos, including all his weapons and equipment. All of his bodyweight is muscle, with almost no fat at all.

Bakuub wears a bracelet, made by himself from the bones of his prey. He also wears a necklace made in the same way. Bakuub hangs small skulls from his Hunting Mesh. This gives him a very barbaric appearance, and strikes fear into most who are unlucky to cross him.

History

The Blooding (Rite of Passage)

Planet Ryushi - Ryushi has dual suns, and has a 19-hour day. Even after sundown, the heat rarely falls below body temperatures. the air is always bone-dry and feverish winds occasionally blow, sharp and unpleasant. The planet has artificial water holes.

It has towering plateaus running in corridors throughout the basin, proving that once water flowed on the planet. to the east and south was open range; the north, mountains; west was Iwa Gorge - a canyon too deep and long to herd the Rhynth. Beriki Canyon is one of the primary runs for the majority of the herds. Animal life consists of: stinging flies, poisonous snakes, particularly lethal form of a scorpion, briar-wolves, and jack-lizards.
Armoured firewalkers: the females were rosy brown; the males are smaller and a faded grey. Both have short, pointed snouts.

Rhynth look like rhinos, slightly bigger with mottled purple and ochre skin. They walked on stumpy, oddly jointed legs that ended in nailed pads. They have hooked, beaklike mouths above, which were a pair of in-line horns. The greater horn is a wrist-thick and sharp cone that jutted straight up in front. The lesser horn was smaller and angled slightly backward.

This was where Bakuub and a number of other Yautja performed their Rite of Passage. It was unusual for a First Hunt to be taken place on such a planet, as they usually perform it on uninhabited planets. Yet this hunt was no less dangerous. The Armoured Firewalkers and the Rhynth proved to be worthy enough prey. Bakuub stood among the ranks of the others who were also to prove themselves on this day. Their leader, an Elder Yautja, stood on a tall mound overlooking the young Yautja. "Who demands the honour of facing this fresh Meat first, alone?" he roared in the native language of the Yautja.

Bakuub and the others fiercely brandished their weapons, but remained silent. The elder looked at them all. "You are fools all," he clicked mockingly. "Yet, the first part of the path lies through the path of a fool."

With that, the Hunt began. Bakuub went alone, seeking the most dangerous of this planet’s inhabitants. He finally found his prey and engaged it in battle. It was a ferocious fight, but eventually Bakuub overpowered the great beast of a Rhynth and killed it. Bakuub stood, looking down at his fallen prey, with his Combi-stick thrust into its hide. Then, wordlessly he began taking out the beast’s teeth and fashioned a necklace for his first trophy. He then waited patiently by his kill for approval. The Elder came a considerable time later and inspected Bakuub’s kill. "Truly a kill worth reckoning," he clicked as he brought a clawed hand up to Bakuub’s forehead to mark him with the sign of ferocity.

Progression Through The Ranks

Ever since gaining his Rite of Passage, Bakuub had taken part in many hunts, preying off many different species, the majority of which were Xenomorphs. He gained many trophies and great honour with each hunt he took part in. After many years of hunting, gaining recognition amongst even the highest castes of the Yautja, Bakuub eventually progressed through the ranks of Blooded, Warrior and finally, to Honoured. He gained the prized spear, Naginata and also a ship of his own. Bakuub now hunts alone most of the time, and very rarely is he seen with fellow Yautja. And even if he is, they are of the same rank or higher.

Many times he had taken a group of Un-blooded on their Rite of Passage, and he became a great warrior. He yearns to gain enough honour so that one day, he may be an Elder, the greatest of all Yautja.

Abilities

Jump: Like most Yautja, Bakuub can leap up to great heights. He can leap up to 15 metres in height, and cover almost as much distance. He likes to use this by leaping up into the air and coming down upon his opponent to skewer them with his spear or slice them in two with his claws.

Mimic: On studying his target, Bakuub is able to mimic their voices. He likes to use this when taunting his target. Apart from that it really doesn’t have any use that would benefit to him.

Multi-vision: Bakuub has an additional three forms of vision besides their normal vision, each one being of great use in combat against all types of foe. Vision modes listed below.

Heat Vision - This allows Bakuub to detect heat. This is useful when hunting humans or other, very similar, species that give off body heat. Depending on how much heat is given off from his foe, it could look sharp or it could be very soft, little more than a red blur.

Electro Vision - This allows Bakuub to detect the majority of other alien species, such as Xenomorphs. (Alien) This works on most foes that do not give off any body heat.

Predator Vision - This vision enables Bakuub to detect any cloaked foes. (Cloaked as in using invisibility devices/spells.) However, this is the only vision that can be scrambled by the likes of EMP.

Normal Vision - Pretty much the same as what a human can see.

Cloak: (See Cloak-invisibility suit.)

Self Destruct: If a Yautja is ever killed, they are almost certain to take their foe with them. The Self Destruct mechanism, located on their wrist gauntlets, activates a bomb on the Yautja, which has a blast radius of 50 meters. Almost anything within that area will be killed, instantly or sometime after the explosion.

Weapon(s)

Naginata: The Naginata is part weapon, part ceremonial trophy. It is a beautifully, plated, and encrusted pole arm with double bladed ends. Each end is a super sharp collection of knives causing devastating damage if struck upon a hapless victim. The blades can flawlessly cut through almost every substance and is totally immune to alien acid. The Naginata also has a conducting field, which allows it to be cloaked when in hand. When the weapon strikes, however, it becomes visible. The Naginata is an image of Honour and demands respect when brandished. It is 7 feet long and weighs 8 pounds.

Acid Resistant Claws: Twin blades, double-edged, and sharp enough to tear through bone, these retractable blades are effective against large and small opponents. Using it shows the Yautja pride, because they must fight face-to-face. Unlike the regular wrist blades the Yautja start off with; these blades are immune to almost all forms of damage. Including alien blood and any other forms of acid. The blades are 14 inches long and can deal a lot of damage to even armoured foes.

Smart Disc: The Smart Disk is thin and ultra light. This internally powered airborne weapon is crafted of materials that produce the Combi-Stick, easily slicing through an opponent with its devastating razor edges. The blades extend when drawn, bringing it from an oval configuration to a circular one. When thrown, it will leave the thrower's grasp and do severe harm to anything living in its flight path. (It creates a disruptive field around itself, which can cut through the hardest of metals.) Much like a boomerang, it returns loyally to the hand of the thrower, but this is due to electronics, not aerodynamics. The disc will burn out its power core if not picked up by someone within thirty minutes. The diameter is 7 inches when sheathed, 11 inches diameter when in use. Weight is 3.5 pounds. The Elders decree that the concentration needed to retrieve a combat standard disk is not present in minds of young Yautja; therefore disks are not given until proven they can use it wisely.

Spear Gun: This is one of the Yautja's 'traditional' weapons. It is a long metal rifle that fires hand-size spears. It is very powerful and can shoot over 2 kilometres. With the automatic targeting system it is deadly accurate, and like the Yautja Spear, it can be cloaked alongside the owner. It is mostly used for killing Xenomorphs. The projectiles it fires look like this:

http://www.geocities.com/theyautjahuntinglair/SpeargunHead.jpg

Plasma Caster: This weapon is one of the more 'brutish' weapons in the Yautja arsenal. It fires a burst of plasma energy, which detonates on impact. It is worn on the shoulder or upper forearm and can wipe out anything. Its highly powered plasma charges are adept at burning through substances, including bone and metal. A truly awesome weapon. Bakuub has this weapon attached to his upper forearm where he can move it more freely.

Equipment

Hunting Mask: The mask is probably one of the Yautja's most impressive pieces of equipment. The Yautja hunting mask provides the Hunter with a suitable breathing gas (methane traces) and temperature. It protects the head during combat, and it provides multiple vision modes highly suitable for hunting (see ability ‘Multi-vision’). On the exterior of the mask is a small tri-beam laser, which is used as a crosshair to target prey. All Yautja wear masks - they are vital to the Hunt. Masks vary depending on the hierarchy of the wearer. A highly honourable Hunter for instance, would most probably wear a beautifully decorated mask, whereas a young blood Yautja would wear a simple unadorned mask.

Hunting Mesh: Hunting mesh consists of Yautja rope: an incredibly strong material which is almost impossible to break. The mesh protects the Hunter from many attacks - from machinegun bullets to Xenomorph claws. It is also a good base for decoration.

Cloak-invisibility Suit: The cloak, or invisibility suit, is an extraordinary piece of technology. It gives the wearer complete invisibility. A small generator on the left gauntlet creates the cloak. At the flick of a switch the cloak is activated, twisting and spinning millions of colours around the wearer - hence 'bending light' - giving the impression of total invisibility. Indeed a marvellous piece of equipment.

Med-kit: Vital to anyone who lives on combat, the medical kits of the Yautja includes bladed instruments, fire sources, drugs, powders, and various other items. With these, they are able to cauterise wounds and stop bleeding. They can even extract bullets from their own bodies, albeit painfully. A Yautja with a med-kit and a little time can stop the most serious aspects of their wounds. One of their technologies is the ability to grow skin back in minutes where the skin is broken, by speeding up the white cell duplication. Another technology is the ability to make pain stop, using a drug that magnifies "mind over matter" in the brain as well as sending powerful drugs to the effected area. A clean way of "stoning". The predator is very strong, so the use of the med-kit is limited to close combat. The med-kit is carried in a holster on the belt. It carries within itself, several tools that are very durable, and portable, looking the size of a spoon, then growing into a dish. The med-kit is normally used once each hunt, and is not relied upon very often.

Trophy Preparation Kit: Yautja are not ones to leave their kill without some proof of their victory. The Trophy Preparation Kit is ideal for Yautja to make trophies of worthy opponents. This kit includes a bone scrubber, flesh dissolving enzyme (12 uses), drain tube with vacuum, catch bag, skull piercer, bone polish and preserver, 12 dressing hooks and a 300 ft cord. Everything a Yautja needs to make an ideal trophy.

ANOTHER CHARACTER!!

Name: Adrastos
Age: 28
Gender: Male
Species: Human
Occupation: Mercenary

Appearance: Adrastos is taller and more bulky than the average human. His hair is scruffy and black in colour. His face is kinda pale and his eyes are a blueish green colour. He has several scars on his face, representing the many battles he has participated in. Just by looking at him you can tell he knows his way through a battlefield.

Adrastos wears brown, baggy trousers with leather plating over his thighs. He wears a black belt and a black scabbard hangs from it by his side. He wears a black t-shirt which is slightly ripped in several places. Over this, he wears his armour which is brown in colour. (His armour is described below.) His body is muscular, and he is quite abit bigger than the average human. He's 6ft 7inches tall, and without his armour, he is 16stone.

History: When Adrastos was only a little kid at the age of five, he lived with his mother and father in a fairly rich part of the city. Adrastos never got to see his father much since his father was a Holy Knight, trained to protect those weaker than them, and defend the city from any outsiders. That's what it once seemed anyway...

On the inside, Adrastos' father was a merciless killer. Working for the tyrant king who ruled by fear. Adrastos was trained by his father who was hoping that Adrastos would also work for the king. Adrastos became a great swordsman and archer. He would go out in the woods, hunting deer and any other animal. Sometimes he would also slay any demons or monsters he came by. At the age of 16, Adrastos was taken to see the king and become one of his so called 'Holy Knights' which were actually involved with Dark Magic and other such things.

Adrastos couldn't believe it. He didn't want to fight for such a monster. He drew out his sword and sootd, ready to fight even though he was greatly outnumbered. Adrastos glared at his father. "FATHER!! I ONCE LOOKED UP TO YOU, HOPING TO FOLLOW IN YOUR FOOTSTEPS!! NOW I KNOW YOU'RE NOTHING BUT A MERCILESS KILLER!! FIGHTING FOR THAT BASTARD I ONCE CALLED A KING!!" he screamed.

The king was cut deeply by those words, and he ordered Adrastos to be killed on the spot. Adrastos sneered as the king's soldiers came in to attack. Adrastos fought bravely, killing anyone who got in his way. His father watched, feeling a sense of pride deep within him. The king looked at Adrastos' father. "Show your loyalty to me by killing your son!!" he ordered.

Adrastos finished off the last of the king's soldiers. He was tired from the fight, but he was willing to go on if need be. Adrastos' father looked at his son and drew his sword. He shook his head and turned to face the king. "I shall not kill my own son..." he said quietly.

The king sneered. "So be it." he muttered.

More soldiers ran into the room and waited for their king's orders. "Go my son, you've made me proud. Protect your mother and sister..." said Adrastos' father.

Adrastos nodded and ran off. Several soldiers went to run after him but they were cut down by his father's sword. Adrastos' father laughed. "You shall remember me and quake in fear at my name, Adonis!" he shouted as he charged at he rest of the soldiers.

As Adrastos ran through the passageways of the castle, he could hear his father screaming as he fought the king's soldiers. Tears started flowing from his eyes as he ran. The sound of his father fighting eventually died and the only sound that could be heard was Adrastos' footsteps echoing through the passage.

Eventually, he got out of the castle. He ran into town and reached his home. His mother came out, carrying his little sister. "Mother! We need to leave this place, it's not safe here!" he said urgently.

His mother knew something had gone terribly wrong and didn't hesitate in gathering their prized possesions, money, and plenty of food and drink. Adrastos' mother put her daughter into Adrastos' arms. "You go ahead with Adrestia! I'll catch up!" she said.

His mother kissed Adrastos and he ran off, carrying Adrestia. "Farewell my son. Take good care of Adrestia..." she said tearfully.

Adrastos ran through the bustling town, barging anyone who got in his way. He came out of the town and into the huge fields that surrounded the place. He continued running towards the forest ahead of him. He finally reached the forest and slowed down to a walk. He followed the faint signs of a path and eventually reached a small house. He knocked on the door. "Hey, uncle! It's me!" Adrastos called out.

The door creaked open and a man, looking like he's in his mid-forties looked down at Adrastos. "Get in, quick." he said, looking around cautiously.

Adrastos walked into the house and sat down. Adrestia was fast asleep in his arms, snoring gently. "So, what's the problem?" asked his uncle.

Adrastos explained everything to his uncle. How his father betrayed the king in his son's defence. How Adrastos fled the town with his little sister. "Mother should be on her way." he added.

Adrastos' uncle said that Adrastos should stay here and lay low for awhile. Adrastos never leaved the forest, and for years he lived with his uncle, mother and sister. When he was in his late twenties, Adrastos said he'd be leaving, to get his revenge for the death of his father. His uncle, sister, or even his mother couldn't persuade him not to go. He set off in the middle of the night while everyone else was asleep. He didn't want to say any goodbyes, since it would make things harder for him if he did. Thus, he set off on his journey of revenge...

However, on his journeys, Adrastos took on the life of a mercenary, working for anyone who paid him well. He became well known among those who despised the king, and he became a beacon of hope for a better future under the reign of a better king.

Weapons:

Adonis: Adonis is the name of the sword Adrastos had been given from his father. Adrastos had named the sword after his father, and it is imbued with ancient runes, rendering the blade near indestructible. The blade is 1 meter long, and it is extremely sharp. The sword can cut through rock with little difficulty.

Aegle: This is the name of Adrastos' longbow. The name means "light, radiance, glory". This bow is imbued with the power of holy, and can fire arrows at great speeds and has twice the power of any normal longbow.

Armour: Adrastos wears mythril armour which protects his chest and stomach. He also has shoulder plates made of steel. He has leather armour on his thighs which can withstand a fair bit of damage, but as much as his mythril or steel armour. (Obviously)

Abilities: Adrastos has no magical abilities, but he has more strength, speed and stamina than that of any normal human. He can withstand a fair amount of damage even without his armour. Also, his senses are much greater than that of any human. The slightest noise would grab his attention if he is alert. He could even pick up the sent of anything that is where it shouldn't truely belong. He developed these senses from years of hunting.

Marryn is awesome. I especially like the Grail of Wounding idea. Reading it at first gave me the impression that she was unbalanced, but I can clearly make out the weaknesses in every one of those fields.

Don't be decieved I read the first version. In which the grail of wounding didn't have that last line saying small wounds aren't carried over. At that time it almost seemed like she was invunerable too small injuries :D

Right Paddy?

Only a small bit :P me and drach are like editorials for most of our "ORPG Group"...
