Pennies

The lowest coin demonination we have is 5cents.

None of this penny crap.

Though you would get ripped off sometimes when something rings up eg: $19.98 on the till but they round it up to $20.00 because there's no way I can hand them over 3 cents. XD

It works good when it's the other way though. Something that costs $19.97 would round back to $19.95 and I'd get 2 cents of that product for free. =D XD

I dig Teh Pennies. :mokken:

Early last year, I had saved up enough Pennies in my jar from about a 9 month period, that I was able to get 20 dollars. I was able to satisfy my addiction with that money. I bought 2 WWE DVDs. It was friggin great! Now I'm collecting Pennies wherever I see them. That'll be another 2 DVDs in the bank.

The reason I dislike pennies is all machines now refuse to take them. :gasp: You can't use them in car parks or coffee machines. Some won't even take 5ps or 10ps. The coins therefore feel pointless. The only reason they need pennies is so they CAN give change when something is £7.99. ---

£7.99 is certainly a psychological trick, although I never let it fool me. :lew: I bet it really helps sales though. :/

Eh, I don't mind those Coinstar machines. I mean, in our local supermarket, they only take about 7%. Most of the time, they take less than the amount I would have spent on bus fare making a trip to the bank.

I don't really like pennies, though. I mean, they are handy for saving up and what have you (By the end of the year, I usually end up with over £30 which is plenty enough to get a nice treat for myself. :D) but I hate having to handle them. Copper irritates my skin and I can't fucking stand the smell of it. -_-

if i go to a shop and they are charging something .99 i will have a huge fit and threaten to report them under the unjust pricing act. sometimes it works and they will give me a significant discount just to appease me. other times i have to pretend that im having a stroke just so that i can avoid the shame of paying 99p.
