Nintendo Persona Q: Shadow of the Labyrinth

This game also looks really damn cool but I don't own a 3DS :(. It seems like this should have been on the PS Vita and the dance game on the 3DS :/ But to see both the P3 and P4 casts together is just awesome even when they are in Chibi form.

Another Persona to look forward to! :lew:. I love chibi characters on the 3ds...the style somehow fits the console really well. Will it be a full on Persona like P1-5 or is it more like a...Chocobo Dungeon of the Persona world, if you know what I mean?
Again though...please don't make us wait too long :gonk:

this game looks amazing, i need this shit, seriously

seeming SEGA now owns atlus, we should get this pretty quickly

You mean the Sega who still hasn't managed to put out ANY tentative English release window for Phantasy Star Online 2 yet? The Sega who can't be arsed either to localise Yakuza 5?

Ball's in their court then, though an Atlus AND Sega arrangement looks hardly anything very positive, especially for us.

I already wrote about this on my own website, so I'll just repost that here:

This Nintendo 3DS exclusive promises a return to Yasogami Highschool as chibi-fied characters from Persona 3 and 4 investigate the school's Seven Mysteries, one of which being that anyone who listens to the clock tower bell until the last toll dies. There's a lot in this trailer to excite long-time Persona fans, but as of yet not a whole lot to connect it all. The reappearance of Minato Arisato will alone be enough to set a lot of heads spinning, but I'm going to guess that we're looking at a timeline set at some point prior to the end of Persona 3. Whatever the real story, Persona Q is something of a mystery in itself, and the big unveiling will begin when the game releases on June 5, 2014. UPDATE: It has been confirmed that Persona Q is being built on elements of Etrian Odyssey, another of Atlus' series made for the 3DS. Like Persona 4 Arena, it will be something of an experimental title to bring some different gameplay mechanics to Persona without deviating from the core of the series.

And I actually disagree on the choice to bring Persona Q to 3DS and Dancing all Night to Vita being backwards. Originally I would have said the Vita should get the RPG, and hardware-wise I'd still say so, but library-wise the 3DS has way more to offer in the JRPG department and a lot of people (myself included) chose the 3DS over Vita for that very reason. Atlus has experience with the platform and seems to be selling well on it (Etrian Odyssey, Shin Megami Tensei IV, Devil Summoner, Devil Survivor are all pretty popular titles). Vita has P4G, but it's something of an oddity among the rest of the Vita library (at least in the West...there's quite a few interesting Japanese exclusives).

Persona Q: Shadow of Labyrinth site opens with character bios, trailer & more

Persona Q: Shadow of Labyrinth publisher Atlus has opened a site for its 3DS dungeon crawler, along with a trailer, character art, bios and more.
You’ll find the Persona Q: Shadow of Labyrinth site through the link.

The site houses a character bio section split up into returning cast members from Persona 3 and 4, along with newcomers Rei and Zen. There’s a ton of characters blurred out however, suggesting that new reveals are on the way.

We’ve also got a batch of Persona Q screens here.

There have actually been new trailers every Friday since the first character trailers- in between Yosuke/Mitsuru and Yukari/Junpei were 4 other returning characters.

Two other character trailers were revealed last week, too- funnily enough, the trailers for the two new characters. I wasn't expecting those until after every existing character got their trailers, but eh, why not?

As for my own opinions? I've never played a Persona game myself, but I'm familiar with most of the characters thanks to Let's Plays, so I'm interested to see them all mashed together in an RPG, to a different effect from P4 Arena. I'm also a fan of Etrian Odyssey's gameplay, so I'm automatically hyped for this game, though I WOULD like to know whether there will be skill trees ala EO or simply 8 skills per Persona gained on level up like canon Persona. I just kinda have a slightly cynical eye on those two newcomers, though, seeing how they fight in their trailers... >_>
