Photoshop Meddlings

Ooh, I really really like the first one. The effect is nice and I like the colors. The other two are good although I'm not sure I like the white in them. I like the purple in the third one but it doesn't blend as well with the render as the second one.

Very nice overall though. Keep up the good work. XD

Thanks, i liked the first one too ^_^ i liked that i tried something different and it worked for once xD for the background i got the fire from another Jean pic, and used that, and applied a C4D in the background too ^_^

And yeah, i wasn't a big fan of the white either...but its what the tutorial said to use, and that girl had a scary voice (T'was a youtube tutorial) xD

I think you need to work on your colors, in some of your work they're too strong and kinda hurt the eyes.

I love the Aeris sig in your first post though, it's sweet.

i love the double cast one, the rest are good but this one is my favorite, closely followed by the Vivi Sig cos i think Vivi is the best character in FFIX

I'm very sorry about what I'm gonna say,but I believe that it doesn't take you too much time making a tag.
You should work more on them.
I don't like none of the sigs. You rely a lot on downloading brushes and don't have your own style that's gonna make them look special.
1)When choosing a stock you should make a background that will match it or at least put some other color on the stock(like adding lighting on it with soft brush) because it looks that you just stuck the render on the background carelessly.
2)Your borders suck.Some tags just don't need a border.
3)Stretching the stocks produces ugly tags.
4)So and blured stocks.Find stocks/renders with good quality.
5)Try the pentool,it's really useful.
6)Follow some tuts, they'll help you discover more about photoshop.

This was all I wanted to say,I might have also forgotten to say some other things, but nevermind.

You know, I think that until you post your own signatures, you should stop going around criticizing everyone elses signatures in this section - i've yet to see a positive comment - you should post your own, if you can do better, then you can insult all you want, if you can't don't bother. "Put up or shut up" is the phrase, i think is applicable to you here.

And, i've rarely used brushes in any of my more recent works.

And to the others, thanks for the compliments ^_^ i've been experimenting a lot with tutorials recently, and a lot of different effects ^_^ And I think i'll keep using tutorials until i'm more confident to work without them.

Sure, I'll make sigs for someone if they ask me nicely enough :P

Although I still don't think I'm good enough to do so xD

Your sigs are superior all you need is more creativity. A year later you'll be the king of sigs! Keep working.

How about being more nice next time? Sheez....

Anyway, I like your work AG. Nicely done, perhaps you could help me by giving me an advice here and there :D

Alright...I've gone through and looked at your posts and I have to say you are not very good at giving proper critique at all. All you are doing is insulting and bringing the original creator down by your words. You need to learn to give proper critique instead of blatantly stating that somebody's work "sucks." It's downright cruel and uncalled for. I see a lot of people are very unhappy because of this. I've also yet to see a positive comment from you as well. Please, don't tell others that their work sucks. Instead offer positive advice and suggestions on what they can do to make it better. You're being very insulting here and I'm sorry, but while I do tolerate critique, I will not tolerate insults.

Now that thats all sorted out...this is a sig i made today following a tutorial that promised a "Firey" background effect...the colors were a bit dull at first so i brightened them up a tad with some gradient maps ^_^

For both Lady Aerith and JuliusArgexis, this is not a complimentary threadSince he decide to post his work that means he's expecting to be critisised. If he just want to be complimented about his tags why not showing them only to his friends? And it's not like I don't have any experience as many of you might think.I too have received very harsh critisism but I never complained cause I myself knew that I wasn't perfect in GFX.I had been making GFX for a long time until I quited.

And Lady Aerith just because he's your friend and you praise him a lot doesn't mean that I must do the same.

#But feel free to ban me if you think I flamed him.I just expressed my opinion and some people just don't accept it.

Excuse me, but each person has their own distinct style and like what they make. They do post them knowing they will get praise and criticism, but that doesn't mean you degrade them and glorify yourself. Sorry, but please TRY to think before you post nothing but rude comments.

Now, back on topic.

I like the flame look in the earlier ones and the text is wacky, in a good way.
The one with the green border stands out ALOT :wacky:. You could try smudging it a bit to make it less intense.

Ohh, and just a suggestion, I would like to see more in black and white. :D

How about both of you GTFO of my thread?

Final-X, this is neither the time nor the place.

And Shou, I don't mind critisizm, it helps us develop, but the way you word everything is overly harsh, and it's pissing people off. Constructive critisizm is helpful, your critisizm is not.

*returns to shitload of work he has to do*

And, i've updated the first post with my best / favourite works too ^_^

There's a difference between proper critique and blatantly insulting. I can go into the rest of the threads you posted in and say the exact same thing that I just said here. Here's an idea, how about you re-read the Graphic forum rules? You're plainly breaking them here, you see.

Shou, this has absolutely nothing to do with Mark being my friend and I do not praise him a lot either, so please do not put words in my mouth. In fact, I rarely post in his threads, so pay more attention. That's fine, express your opinion, but do me a favor and stop insulting the work. In fact, read this: The Art of Critique This might actually give you decent insight on how to critique artwork instead of being downright cruel and saying it sucks.

I can't notice Celes so well, but the mixture of colors looks cool. Celes has such a sad face  How about darkening her face just a little bit?
