Name A Few Places On Earth That Could Be Possibly Used In A Final Fantasy Game...

Antarctica - Basically Nothing Is There, I Can See Them Having
Alot Of Side Quests In A Place Like This Where Everything Is Secret

Diamond Crater, AR, USA - It's A Crater You Can Dig At And Keep Any
Diamonds You Find.. Just That Itself Can Be Used For A Small Part Of A Storyline

Niagra Falls - Would Be Nice To See The Graphics In This Area,
Could Be Used As A Place To See Leviathan Or Someone.

Mammoth Cave, KY, USA - It's Like The Worlds Largest Cave System
And Most Of It Is Undiscovered.. Who Knows What Can Be Down There...

haha.. im just buggin out.

name a few places though...

aberdeen city scotland - why? we speak the same as the condie petie dwarfs thats reason enough.

I guess you could you could use any place really, paris always reminded me of deiling city in FFVIII because of the arch thing.

EDIT - Rio Deginero, the statue there would be cool and theres also the favella.

Interesting thread! :)

Hmm...

Amazonia, Brasil - It's so vast, there are winding rivers, there are still some tribal people....and who knows what secrets still lay there? Oh, and also the amazing wildlife...

Christ the Redeemer.

Paris, with a Team America styled bit, trying to stop the bad guys from destroying it.

And Josef Fritzl's house, because every FF game has a dungeon.

For some reason, alot of the Plains in FF12 reminded me of the site at Stonehenge.

...Weird.

Rabanastre reminded me of Agrabah (from Aladdin), but since Agrabah isn`t a real place... Maybe some place like Saudi Arabia or India? It seemed sorta Middle Eastern/South Asian. Probably due to the use of the word "Bazaar" :P

Wutai is feudal Japan. No shit right? Nibelheim is probably some Norweigian city/country. Costa del Sol - Bahamas? Hawaii? I'm so creative? Yes? :P

Most of the FF9 cities can be attributed to various European countries, specifically during a more Medieval time period. Lindblum would be England (or Germany?); Alexandria could be England, Germany or even Spain; Condie Petie is Scotland; Treno could be France etc.

That's all I got for now...

Scunthorpe, England- why? you ask? Well i have lived here for over two years now and i have come to realize that this unknown town would be great if it was to get Re-modelled by a fight Between Alexander and Bahamut (FFIX style baby hahahahahahahahaha)

I will ask people in advance to post proper reasons why they would like certain places to be in FF - otherwise, this will be moved over to FF Fun which is a shame bcause it's a good well thought out topic. Just because you live there is not acceptable :wacky:

New Zealand. I don't live there. :P

After viewing the appendices of the LotR's extended trilogy it showed how diverse and beautiful the landscape is. Particularly the mountaineous regions would make great for some time of mountain journey.

okay then, if you ant a 'real reason' then i shall think of somewhere else,

Australia would be a good continent to set an FF game as alot of it is made up of desert and there is also some great architecture in Australian Cities so it would make a really good setting for an FF game.

Where I live is quite nice. Washington State on the West side of the Cascade Mountains.
We have a nice big Mountain Range, Rain forest, Pacific Coast, the Pugit Sound, but when you cross over to the East side of Washington. It is like going from Forrest to dry plains in an FF game. The change is very drastic, both sides of Washington are very different from each other.

HAHA, I love it, there is a Desert actually named GREAT SANDY DESERT

I wouldn't fuck with a Kangaroo, I hear they box rather well.

Im just trying to get 50 posts lolz

Maybe...hmmm Uluru? - Australia. there are Tropic forests with Aboriginies ( could be theifs of some sort) and Uluru ( ayers rock ) ( the centre of australia ) look kinda like it has Magical properties.. its SPECTACUALR ^^

i'd have to agree with austrailia, although englang would be quite good, it has many varying weather conditions and is compleatly surounded by water (i dont know if thats good or bad) but we have the euro-star to get outta here (Y):)

I think that Area 51 could be used in Final Fantasy as the villains headquarters or something. You could probably try to find out what the secrets kept, try to save the world or something.
Remember when Vegnagun was kept underneath Bevelle (FFX-2), yes something like that.

Delphi, Greece. Something really mystical about this place, being a religious hotspot throughout the ancient eras, and being the so called centre of the then known world.
Something beautiful and mysterious about the place, looking down, around at the mountains etc.
As it is now (ruins) it could still make a good visiting spot. The characters could treck up to it, explore the ruins, discover truths etc...
But it would be fantastic if the ancient Delphi was used in an FF game.. The characters coming on a sort of pilrimage to visit the oracle to seek aid.

Definately Delphi.

Well, I think The Australia from The ROad Warrior could be used, if you have ever seen the movie, you would understand why, this movie set the standard for the Futuristic Wasteland Genre

Most of the places have been mentioned already, but i'd like to see an African type setting in the open lands where animals roamed like Cheetahs and Elephants, etc.

I'm actually thinking of like a Far Cry setting where when you enter this land, you feel like you should be on a Safari with flies and bugs buzzing around you and the sun beating down on you at 100+ degrees.

I was thinking New Zealand myself. That place is absolutely gorgeous. It would be hard though, to pick any one location as a good setting for a Final Fantasy location. While a lot of Final Fantasy games have a lot of populated cities, most of the game is set in places people never travel... like the inside of volcanos, which are next to beaches, and somehow... artic winter wonderlands.

Speaking of, how is it that no Final Fantasy is every geographically correct when it comes to whether patterns? I understand orientation plays a big role (Farther N is not always colder), but there should be some general progression. I guess the simple answer if its a fantasy world... but it just seems ridiculous, even moreso than Star Wars one world/one climate concept.
