I'm sure that i'm not the only one that has favorite places in each Final Fantasy game, as well as some complete BORE places. FF7 Loved: Midgar - Loved the slums, starting out as a mercenary and all of the creeps and freakazoids walkin' around the slums fit the whole setting PERFECTLY. There were perverts, a thief in the train, a cathouse, a pimp named Don Corneo. It was very well done. Glaciers - It was just so soothing, fighting the three headed dragon was also always one of my favorite boss fights for some reason. Cosmo Canyon - It was cool. You learn alot about the Planet here. Kalm - You get to play as Sephiroth! Kinda. The story was also cool (although some of it false) and it had great cut scenes. Temple of The Ancients - Yes! Loved it. It was very interesting and Aeris in my party was so strong by this point with her Great Gospel and all. Two cool boss fights. She was my ultimate magic caster, couldn't find one better. I easily got past the Demon Gate with her Great Gospel. Hated/Disliked: Rocket Town - It was just a bore to me, I couldn't wait to just get the damn Tiny Bronco and get the hell out of there already. Desert Prison - HATED it. I never use Barret and had to fight a boss with just him but it's not even just that, I just hated the damn place and those enemies that steal your item were annoying as shit. It was though, very well done of a Desert Prison. The music fit the setting, the creepy lunatic following you around was funny and fit the setting. I don't think they really wanted you to like this place, I mean it's a damn prison for crying out loud. Wutai - I know you all feel me on this one. This was just a sidequest, but I always feel obligated to just go through with it if i'm going through the game. And where do I start? Yuffie steals your materia, she then puts it back and it's all screwed up in the wrong places by the end of the quest. I make sure that I already have the Ultimate Weapon for Cloud since the "No Growth" doesn't make a difference seeing as how you have no materia to use. Ancient Forest - Yea. Got on my nerves getting hit by the Venus Flytraps, and also those damn things that would dodge your attacks like nothing so you had to use magic.

The only place I hate and loathe within FF VII is Kalm because of the whole giant flashback story that when you've played the game so many times it becomes pointless and annoying.

We all know now that your fibbing Cloud; just zip it and let me buy some new Earth Materia for Tifa...
:jtc:

I absolutely loved Midgar. It's probably one of my favourite places in the whole series. Have to admit though, that once the bike chase is done and I'm on the world map for the first time, I always breathe a sigh of relief that I'm out of there :D

As for places I hate, Temple of the Ancients makes me rage everytime. Just something about the place I hate! :D

Hmmm places I loved... I loved Midgar and Junon to name some as I like progressing to the next big city. But for places I hated it deffinitely had to be Kalm like _Rabbit said because of the whole boring flashback sequence in which just grinds on your teeth more and more. Another place that comes close is Gold Saucer when you have to fight Dyne. My god that bored me stiff :( but yer that's all I can think of.

the wutai part was annoying. it was kind of a double edged sword. trying to get from one side of the continent to the other was hell and i often had to save after every battle because without materia i use up all my hi potions and x potions real quick. rapps can be a real hard boss unless you fight him the easy way, which is to use hyper on all characters, and having at least level 2 limit breaks at this time really helps. i usually have climhazzard for cloud by now and i have vincents second limit break too. the ancient forest is bunk. if it wasn't for some of the materia and weapons in there i would never take the time. it would've helped to have a boss at the end of that hell hole. i do like the whirlwind maze because there's enemies there you can only face in that part. and taking all the huge materia was also one of my favorites. but i think my favorite place is the cave of the gi. the music and the grim look of the place makes it stand out. i used to have nightmares over that part it was so convincing. and the boss was cool too.

I absolutely hated Wutai.. Well, I didn't COMPLETELY hate Wutai, since I got some decent items out of Wutai. I just hated having to get my Materia back from Yuffie.

I think my favorite place was the Golden Saucer... Even though I hated the theme :gasp:.

I actually liked the Temple of the Ancients. Had some decent puzzles to it and I just liked the feel of it overall. Plus, you get to crush Cait Sith, and that's always fun. :P Hahaha. My least favorite is probably the Desert Prison. At least it's the one that comes to mind first. The annoying thief enemies were already mentioned. But also, the fact that if you miss the Laser enemy skill (pretty certain that's the right one) here, you can't come back for it and then you have to wait until the end of the game to get it. :\

Kalm was annoying only because of the flashback. Unfortunately you couldn't skip it and it was damn long. Interesting the first time but on subsequent playthroughs, not so much.

I hated North Corel because that place was just so damn depressing. With good reason, of course, but still.

I didn't fall in love with any of the places in the game like I did with IX but I thought Icicle Inn was pretty cool. It was like a cozy little ski town. Wu-Tai was pretty cool too overall. The Yuffie sidequest was a pain but I thought the town was nice.

Midgar was great. I wish they did more with it and expanded to other sectors. As for places I didn't particularly care for, Bone Village comes to mind because as a kid I was stuck there for 10+ hours. Kalm comes to mind as well for the reasons listed above, although in my first playthrough I loved it.

I love Wall Market. The general charm and theme of the place is cool.

If there's a place I don't like, it's probably Bone Village. That place is painfully dull. If it weren't for the Sleeping Forest, I would shoot the Junon cannon at it.

Kalm - ironically it made me ridiculously angry. I know that this was possibly the ideal time to go over some hugely important background, but did it draaaaaaaaaag on. I could have done without the Desert Prison as well. As a character, I don't feel like Dyne was needed.

On the other hand, I loved Wutai and Cosmo Canyon. They were interesting, and had theme music that was monotonous but made me smile. You can't forget Nimbelheim either. There always seemed to be something secretive and interesting about it.

YOU WERE STUCK IN THE BONE VILLAGE FOR 10 HOURS? I am so, so sorry. That is terrible. XD

As for towns, I love Midgar (particularly Wall Market) and Icicle Inn. My favorite place, though, is the Gold Saucer. I clocked in at least 20+ hours there when I first played through the game. I won all the battles in the Battle Square, got 5000+ points on the Speed Square roller coaster, and had the Snowboarding level memorized.

Oh, and I love the Temple of the Ancients. I've had its theme song as my cell phone's ringtone since 2004 (seriously).

I hate everything about Cosmo Canyon. I hate the town, the Sealed Cave, and Red XIII. XD
