Playstation 3 GB

Its got both, I use an ethernet cable when I am at my house and Wireless when I'm at my mam's house. You just have to set up the connection how you want it ^_^

Heh, the 80gb version has been out longer than the 40gb has been. I think the 80gb version came out around June or July, though I'm not sure? Or maybe even August.

The 80gb has the emotion engine, or the graphics synthesizer removed from it, so not all PS2 games will work on it.

Has it been released in the UK though? Because I have never seen an 80GB PS3, all it has been is 40GB's and 60GB's.

I don't get why it wasn't released in Europe. Though the 60GB model is still the best (apparently)the sale of PS3's is just as successful in the UK as anywhere else :S

They could eventually release it there, or unless Sony has plans for a new version with a hard drive of greater than 100gb, with full backwards compatibility.

If the 60gb version has too small of a HD, you can always upgrade it since the PS3 is compatible
with 2.5 inch SATA hard drives, so you could put a 250gb in, or a 500gb which I think are just now coming onto market, though I'm not too sure on that.

It depends on you, really. Personally, PS2 games-wise, I'd just get a 40GB; the 60GB model plays them but, according to Sony, has "minor" or "noticeable" issues with some games (a lot of which are the console's best, such as MGS and FF). If the few extra features the 60GB has are important to you, get that; if not, get the 40GB and, in my opinion, a new PS2 to play PS2 games hassle-free.

Actually... the 40 gig has no PS2 playback. So, if you don't have a PS2 and want to play PS2 games while getting the cheap 40-gig PS3, you have to shell out another 175$... Sorry. ^^; May as well just get the 60-Gig... Wait... nevermind... For all the extra money, it barely even plays any PS2 games! :O

Aye, I know the 40GB doesn't play PS2 games. That's why I suggested grabbing a PS2 with it to play the games without the "issues" that the 60GB apparently has.

Oh... xD I misread that... I agree with Vergil! :P Anywho, personally I still prefer 360 for a wider game selection, though I do admit PS3 has better graphics and I like the gyroscopic control idea. What ticks me off the most is the lack of games exclusive to the PS3 to utilize these features...

If there were more games exclusive to PS3, I'd say a PS3 is worth it... But I just loath that fact that it's BOTH lacking exclusive games and lacks good backwards compatibility.

Hmm, yes, I have to agree; to an extent, anyway. The 360 is better in terms of its variety of games currently. Sadly, none of them really interest me. It's a shame Sony's marketing tactics are so shoddy; I probably would have bought a PS3 by now if they'd stop messing around with the backwards compatibility and other such nonsense. Its technological power aside, the console has little going for it; Sony are lucky they're getting Metal Gear Solid 4 and the new FFs all to themselves or they'd be a bit screwed, in all fairness. Not to mention the PS2's massive catalogue of PS1 games was one of the reasons it did so well when it launched, I believe.

Lord knows MGS4 and the FF games are the only real reason I'm still interested.
