For some reason, on the cutscenes in my game you can't hear the characters voices - everything else sounds completely normal and amazing, but I don't have a clue whats going on!

I was playing final fantasy for a while, but then I left it for a long period of time while I went and played Uncharted 2. When I left the game everything was working fine, however when I come back to it, I am faced with this!

Can anyone offer any help please? It would be greatly appreciated. Thank-you!

Forgot to mention - I have tried cleaning the disk and it's absolutely spotless, so thats not the problem, and I have also restarted my PS3. Several times. :'(

I knew I recognized the name from somewhere, it's from YouTube. :wacky:

The only thing I can think of is maybe in the options menu you have the dialogue volume too low so you can't hear it? Other than that, no idea. :hmmm:

Unless there's an option in the config of the game allowing you to turn the voices off, which is very unlikely, you're copy is likely broken. It could just be a particular cutscene that's effected but if every cutscene is I'd advise asking wherever you got if from for a replacement copy/refund. (I'd take the refund, that game's a waste of time) :wacky:

Firstly, yes I am on YouTube - nice to get recognised occasionally! I have checked on the settings menu several times, and can't find any options about character voices :( However, I can turn on the subtitles during cutscenes, so now I just get characters who appear to be miming, and subtitles of what they are miming at the bottom - it's an improvement! Thanks for the help!

At least you won't have to hear the mush coming out of their mouths and Vanille's spontaneous shrieks and moans. In fact; I envy you, would you like to switch copies?

:lew: No not really, although I don't play it anymore I wouldn't want a dud copy; get real 8(

Also, Welcome to the forums :dave:

Check the config on the ps3, maybe reconfigure everything?

Have you recently switched to an HDMI cable, I had this problem when I switched over, you just have to configure the lead too the PS3 on the sound settings menu, that is if you have switched to HDMI from a scart lead

haha try restarting the game....actually...never had this prob, go to sound setting or restart the game.
