Pokémon: Ashes of Dreams [RP]

((OOC, Can we have this Post happen after Hime's Below, it will fit better, I've edited it slightly))

"I'm Cameron"
She smiled, as she was about to answer Stephen's question, Faythe Butted in... Cameron laughed... it kind of looked like Faythe had a bit of a crush on Stephan? Once the girl was done, Cameron decided to answer the question "I'm not too sure just yet which pokemon I will pick, I really love water types, so we might be fighting over Piplup!" She Joked "but I also love Totodile!" She then turned to Faythe. "I don't have a Pokegear yet, I think The professor might give us one?"

Just then Cameron noticed two new trainers Bursting into the lab. One was a blond girl and the other was dressed from head to toe in Captain Red memorabilia. Smiling Cameron commented to herself "Captain Red, I love that show!" Turning back to Stephen and Faythe she sighed. "Its getting so crowded in here... it might be hard to get the starter we want"

There were now approximately 8 or 9 Trainers in the lab. Once they were all given their starters, who knows how many Pokemon battles there would be!!

Cameron looked to her feet. "I'm really nervous! I don't think I am tough enough to go through to the pokemon league!" She smiled. Cameron was actually more interested in collecting cute pokemon, but she wanted to be strong and she wanted to prove to the world that she and the cutest of pokemon were just as tough as dragons and the like!

((OOC: is there anyway i would know both jennifer and sammie from living here?))

Faythe smiled and listened to the other girls question and was smirking even more when the boy she had directed it asked one back just as quickly and this one was directed to both of them. She pounced on the question before the other girl could answer could answer and said "Well i dont particularly mind what pokemon i end up with because i will always strive for a good friendship with my pokemon" She smiled brightly at stephen "Hi stephen you heard correctly my name is faythe, pleased to meet chya!" she laughed before turning to face both of them at the same time. "What do you say we make a deal here and now that no matter where our journey takes us we will be friends" she then asked stephen if he had a pokegear so she could register him, and asked the same of the girl

Stephen smiled as Faythe asked to Register his pokegear "sure thing" Stephen answered as he extended his Pokegear towards Faythe so the pair could register each other "man, that kinda sucks" Stephen muttered smirking slightly, "but hey, if you do get one of the Prof, the I'm sure we could register each other then

Craig strode to the door after he received a call on his Pokegear, there was a challenger waiting at the Gym for him and he had to get off. "Yo Bro, I gotta go, don't let them bully you out of the pokemon you want" he announced "Seeya Craig" Stephen shouted back to him as he turned back to face the girls.

"Little brother's got a crush already" Craig joked to himself as he Exited the Lab.

Shinya and the troupe soon arrived at their raining area, A clearing in the forest near a cliffside for damp, rocky terrain. Shyna look a deep breath, and looked around then smiled at his team.

"Alright then. let's start the training session!" He said calmly, brushing his hair to one side.

First up, he pitted Glaceon against Weavile. Glaceon stood there, bracing himself for his first attack, while Weavile bared his claws, ready for a speedy start.
Ashley stood to the side with Beartic, Ready to shout out the commands:

"Glaceon, start things off with Hail!" he shouted, watching carefully as Glaceon howled at the stormclouds, watching as instead of rain falling, the water turned to Ice chunks falling around the battlefield. With the mist of the ice falling, the hailstorm activated Glaceons special ability "Snow Cloak", raising his evasion.

Next, was Weaviles turn: "Weavile, Start off with Screech!" Weavile then moved his claws near his mouth, then took a deep breath, releasing an ear-piercing screech.

After the screeching was over, Glaceon quickly shook it off, and get straight back to concentrating on the match. "Glaceon, Sand Attack!!" Ashley shouted, watching as Glaceon started digging up mud and partially wet dirt and flinging it at Weavile, but Weavile dodged it.

"Weavile, counterattack with Faint Attack!" Weavile then fell to the floor, as if he was KO'd, waiting for Glaceon's next move.

"Now, Glaceon, use Quick Attack!" Ashley commanded, watching as Weavile still laid there, motionless. Glaceon charged at Weavile at full speed, and that's when Weavile struck!

Glaceon got sent flying backwards, but that didn't phase Glaceon one bit, both pokemon stood there, ready for Ashley's next command!

"Captain Red, I love that show!"

Sammie suddenly became flustered upon hearing this bit of news. Still breathing deep, she tried to respond quickly, but all that came out was a garbled mess of panting. "Ha, aha...Yoaah. Captain Rehh. Haaa haa, love, tooooo? Haahaa." There was someone else here who loved Captain Red? Sammie felt like the luckiest person in the world that the first person she met on the day that her journey was about to begin was also a fan of Captain Red. Any person who loved Captain Red was a friend of Sammie's.

Without thinking, she took the girl by the hands and held them in hers. With eyes sparkling like gems, she said to the girl, "You'll make it through to the Pokemon League for sure! As a fellow ally of justice, I'm sure you will!" She meant every word.

"...Oh!"

It took her a minute to realize how rude she must be being. She removed the other girl's hands from her own and rubbed the back of her head in embarrassment.

"I'm sorry. I don't know what came over me. I'm Sammie, by the way. What's your name?"

((OOC: after 6 years of living here im going to take it for granted that i know sammie even if i dont know jennifer so here i go))

After the pokegear had registered she put hers away. "Yeah im sure the professor will have one spare for you" She grinned her trademark grin and then her focus changed to stephen and his brother "Isnt your brother a gym leader? will we be facing him on our way to the league?" Before she could wait for an answer someone grabbed hold of cameron right behind faythe. Turning round she saw a familiar face and had to laugh at the embarassment in her face.
She wrapped her arms round the girl in a friendly hug "Hey sammie what you doing here? advertising for captain red again i see!" She was joking and sammie should know this by now, it is in faythes nature to joke around constantly. Her arms were still wrapped around sammie as she introduced the two people she had been talking to "This is cameron and thats stephen. were all going to be trainers by the end of today"

William sat bolt upright in bed.

"Oh no!" he thought to himself, "I'm going to be late!"

He rolled over in his bed to get a better look at his Pokéball alarm clock, which sat open on a small cabinet beside his bed, and sure enough he had slept right through his alarm.

Jumping out of bed with a mixture of sheer exceitement and panic he ran around his room gathering all sorts of clothing, putting together his usual collection of clothing before literally throwing them onto his body.

On his way down the stairs he had to slow down momentarily to step over several different pokémon related toys, including varying sizes of pokéballs and several pokémon almost the size of himself that were sitting on steps all the way down. He had been unwell last year, and so had not been able to leave the house in order to claim a pokémon, but this year he had heard that the professor had loads more than before, so he was certain he would be able to get his own, if he wasn't too late.

He quickly shoved several spoonfuls of cereal into his mouth before telling his parents that he really wasn't that hungry, and that he desperately wanted to leave to get to the lab as soon as possible.

A few minutes later he found himself sprinting down the road as fast as his legs could carry him, knowing that he would hae to get there soon or else the professor would begin giving out pokémon before he got there, and he might miss out again. He ran up the road to the lab, and as he got there, he realised just how busy it was. The main room of the lab was full of people! But luckily it looked like he wasn't too late to pick a pokémon, so he stood quietly near the back of the room and waited for the professor to speak.

[OOC: Provided MM isn't taking a starter trainer, my next post as Rose will set things in motion. Also, waiting for Erza's commander before I have Tobias say anything

Also, regarding Jennifer: even though she's from the same down, it's doubtful you'll know her - she's a complete sociopath and has spent much of her life travelling with her sister. Although she was in the town for the first few years of her life, so you might have played together when you were younger...]

"Interesting..." Rose peered into the Soul Dew, which sparkled in the early morning light that filtered in through the laboratory windows. Almost like a thing alive, in fact, "Make sure you hold onto that tightly, Robert. Something tells me you'll need it to unravel this mystery..." she paused, staring into it for a few more moments, then tore her gaze away, "But, for today at least, try to relax! After all, this is your big day, and I'm sure your little sister wouldn't want you worrying it away." she smiled, winking at him.

"I'd appreciate that, Simon. Although I couldn't ask you to spend hours cooped up in a lab, with only me for company. Pretty soon you'd stop sleeping as well!" she yawned, stretching, "Just don't spend all night in a chair if you do. My back is killing me...I think I may travel around a bit when this is all over. It's been a while since I left my home, it might be nice to get out a bit."

Jennifer cocked her head when Robert extended his hand, eyes narrowing very slightly in suspicion, before finally accepting the hand, visibly relaxing, "Nice to meet you as well, Robert. Tell me, have you given any thought to the Pokemon you're going to choose?"

Another figure entered the lab then, making straight for Jennifer's abandoned corner. Rose considered approaching him, but paused, looking around. She turned back to Simon, shrugging, "I think everyone I was expecting is here...we'll give it five more minutes, then I'll kick things off. No doubt our young charges are getting impatient. If you'll hang around for a bit after this, we can check my notes for some leads on Latias and Latios..."

Simon & Robert Masters
Pokemon Lab

Simon shook his head a bit. "No need to worry. I know when to call it a day, and I'll be sure to remind you...constantly if need be...when it's time for you to call it a day. Besides, I'd have you and my Pokemon as company. I've been traveling for so long, it'll be a nice change of pace to stay somewhere and study. I might even learn a few new things I can incorporate into my battling skills and knowledge of Pokemon medicine." Simon reassured Rose with a smile upon his face.

Robert shook Jen's hand and smiled to the rather cautious girl. His grip was firm, but not strong. Once he released the handshake, he listened to her question. "Well, I have thought about it quite a bit, but when all is said and done, I want a Pokemon that wants to be my partner. So I'll have to see once all of the Pokemon are let out so I can interact with them." Robert replied with a friendly tone of voice. Like Rose suggested, Robert kept the orb close to him by placing it back in his pocket. It was his good-luck charm, and he wouldn't want to be separated from it for too long.

Cameron Shrieked as she was yanked away from her little group "Ack!!!" She shouted, it took a moment before she registered what was going on. The new girl, the one dressed in all the Captain Red stuff must have heard her mutter that she liked the same show!

"Oh haha" She said nervously "I obviously don't like the show as much as you do!!" Cam said pointing at the girls hat. "But thank you for your kind words!!" Cameron was about to tell Sammie her name but once again Faythe butted in. Cameron didn't mind, Faythe was obviously more outgoing than she was.

While Faythe was doing the introductions the brown haired girl scanned the room. There was now another new kid, and another little group of kids had also formed... maybe these would be their traveling parties...?
She then looked to Rose and the man she was talking to. Their stances changed... Cameron felt some excitement in her stomach... was Rose about to announce what they had all been waiting for?? Their Pokemon??

(OOC: as soon as my trainer gets accepted, i'll post both characters in the same post to save from double-posting but i'll seperate with "----")

It was Glaceons move, and he was waiting his next command "Glaceon, let's try an Ice beam!" Ashley shouted, with a smile on his face. The move hit Weavile, knocking him back a fair bit, also partially freezing his legs.

Ashley looked at Weavile struggling to break the ice, then thought of something tricky. "Weavile, aim a Screech at the ice!" He shouted, watching as Weavile let out an ear-piercing screech, shattering the ice in an instant and sending him flying into the air, this was the decisive moment for this battle, with weavile in the air, and Glaceon having just finished attacking.

"Glaceon, use sand attack!" he commanded, sand flying into Weaviles face.

Ashley looked up at the sky, noticing the storm was going to get worse, a huge crack of thunder struck nearby, and Ashley knew it would only get worse.

"Ok guys, it's time to return to the Gym, good work!" he said to them both, quickly returning them to their pokeballs, then rushing to the pokecenter, before heading back to the Gym...

"Phew....that was close, training is fun, but not neally as fun as a real opponent" he thought to himself, sighing in dissapointment at not only the weather, but at the lack of good opponents.

----------------------------------------------------------------------

Stephen chuckled to himself as Cameron was jumped by this new girl, and the Faythe but in with introductions. Shaking his head slightly, with a sigh, Stephen took note of Rose changing stance a little "hey cam" he whispered "I get the Feeling were about to get our pokemon" he added as quietly as he edged forward so he was stood next to Cameron and staring straight at the pokeballs.

It was at this moment that Stephen's phone went off, he had a message, when he read it it turned out to be from his mother. . .

Hey hunni, hope you haven't got your first pokemon yet, because i know you will take a water pokemon, and so i put something into your bag for it, love you. . . see you soon. . . .

Stephen reached into the pouches connected to his belt one after the other and finally discovered a Dive ball in one of them "I guess this will be my ball pocket" he muttered just loud enough for Cameron to hear, if she so wished. he held the ball in his hand and just looked at it.

Victor got up and looked out into the city. He knew his junior manager will run the place business in his absence, (more so now that he's the gym leader) so he decided to head out to Bleu Forest. It would be a longer trek than the usual training area at the Azarin Caves, but it only means more training for more training for his Pokemon.

Victor pulled out a Pokeball from his belt and tossed it into the sky, saying "Alright Blaze, time to come out!!!" The ball opened out and summoned his Ninetales, which purred softly. "Hey Blaze, it's time for us to do some training. Let's go." Victor said peacefully with a smile before walking down the Route to Bleu Forest with Blaze following.

"Oh haha" the girl said nervously. "I obviously don't like the show as much as you do!!" she said while pointing at Sammie's hat. "But thank you for your kind words!!"

Sammie was surprised by the arms that suddenly wrapped around her, but calmed down once she realized who was hugging her.

"Hey Sammie what you doing here? Advertising for Captain Red again i see!" came the friendly greeting from Fayth. This was a girl Sammie had known since she was little....well, littler.

"Oh, hey, Fayth. I didn't know you were here already." Sammie was still a bit embarrassed by her recent outburst. Once she heard "Captain Red", her mind went in only one direction. She was so into it that she did not even notice that Fayth was standing only a couple of feet away from her. Sammie stood in silence as her friend introduced the two people standing near them.

"This is Cameron," indicating the girl Sammie had attacked in a fit of fanaticism moments ago, "and that's Stephen. We're all going to be trainers by the end of today."

Sammie waved meekly at the girl and boy standing across from her. Suddenly, a thought crossed her mind. "Hey, Fayth. Speaking of advertising for Captain Red..." She let her voice trail off as she kneeled down and brought her backpack to the floor. She rummaged through the junk she decided to bring with her on her adventure. With a "Ah ha!" she found what she was looking for: a Captain Red brand wristband, a Captain Red brand pen, and Captain Red brand stationary. Holding them up, she offered them to her two new friends and her older one.

"With these with you, I bet you'll feel more like allies of justice!"

Stephen smiled as the Captain red super fan held ou a wristband, a pn and some stationary, Stephen took the wristband and slid it on "thanks" truth be told Stephen did enjoy Captain red, Namely the Arcanine that Red used alot, Stephen loved the Pokemon Arcanine, but he did have Pokemon he preffered to it, Namely Houndoom, Empoleon, Umbreon, among a select few, Stephen though of his pokemon adventure, and how he would be leaving after getting a piplup, hopefully.

he looked at the people around him, they would all be travelling together, him, Faythe, Sammi and Cameron, him and three girls, he then realised that his mother always told him to be a complete Gentleman "well, i guess this will be a long trip" Stephen joked to himself before returning his attention to Rose

Faythe chuckled as sammie passed out the merchandise and slipped the band on as a sign of friendship. She started doodling in the pad as she was handed it and was intent on finishing one drawing before rose let them have their pokemon. she didnt have that much of a preference for pokemon but she did really want one as energetic and friendly as she was. hopefully it wasnt too much longer before they could set off and she would get to draw many new things

Cameron Smiled at Stephen as he pulled the dive ball from his pocket. "I guess you're planning on going swimming then?" she joked

Cameron then noticed that Sammie was holding out some bits and bobs for them all to take. The wrist bands were taken so Cam decided that the stationery would be nice, then she could attach it to her pokemon and send a letter to her mother.
"Thank you Sammie!!" She said as she gently took the stationery from the enthusiastic girl. "This will come in handy!! My mum will love getting a letter from me on this!"

The brown haired girl then turned to Stephen "A long trip?" she placed her index finger to her lip and thought for a second. "Oh! Because you're potentially traveling with three girls!!" She gave a large ear to ear smile "I guess you're a ladies man then!!" She was just mucking around, Cameron liked to joke but living at home alone while her mum worked all day was lonely especially after her grandmother got sick and passed away and she never really got the chance to have a muck around with other kids like she did now.

After Ashley claimed his pokemon back from Nurse Joy, he headed back to the Gym, readying himself for a shower. He looked over to the bookshelf, seeing a picture of his younger brother, Seth...

"That kid..should have made it to Amber town already... i wonder how well he'll do...."
He thought to himself, stepping into the shower shortly after...

---------------------------------------
Seth. a 14 year old boy, shy, and not have seen much of the world outside his house, has set off in the hopes of becoming a pokemon trainer. After a long car ride, he has finally made it to Amber town, where he is to recieve his first pokemon.

Seth, shy and timid by nature, slowly steps out of the car, thanking the driver for taking him this far, then looks over at the building near the edge of town. He figured there weren't going to be many people there, so it would have been alright, but as he got closer, he could see more and more people within the compounds of the pokemon laboratory...

"Uuhh....I knew i should have just borrowed one of my brothers pokemon and caught my own!" He thought to himself, his legs refusing to take him any further.

After a few minutes, Seth calmed down alittle, and thought of the reason he was here in the first place, which was to overcome and understand why his brother decided to become a pokemon trainer in the first place.

He gathered up his courage, and slowly made his way to the laboratory, still making sure he wasn't seen by the majority, while still entering the double automatic doors to the laboratory.

[Michael, Ermine Town]

"There's no point in rushing" Michael thought to himself as he walked towards the building that was used for the regulat Team Sol meetings.

"In fact, I'm almost certain that expect me to be late by this point, I might even disappoint them by trying to turn up on time..."

He pushed the door to the builing open. Before him stretched a long corridor, and at the other end stood the door to the meeting room. He knew what was coming next, it happened every time, some would taunt, other's simply ask why he was late, but as usual the boss would simply observe, before getting on with the meeting. He wasn't sure which got on his nerves more, his jeering colleauges, or the deathly silnce of the man who had the power to decide his fate within the entire organisation.

He was now standing directly in front of the door.

"Here goes" He took a deep breath and pushed the door open, striding into the room with something of a confident swagger.

"Ah man, late again," He addressed the room. "Ah well can't be helped I guess, shall we get this meeting started then? I had somewhere I rather wanted to be later today..."

He took his place at the table, and waited for someone to make the first move.

-------------------------

[Tsukiumi, Elite Four, Battle Number 3]

"Venusaur return" A voice from the other side of the room yelled. "How can I only have one pokémon left? Ah well, at least it gets interesting now!"

The person threw a ball into the arena. "Go, Empoleon!"

The enormous penguin-type creature was only out of it's ball for a mere second before it started on the attack. It sprayed jet after jet of water at Tsukiumi's pokémon, Absol.

"Ok Absol, let's show him what we're really made of! Use double Team!"

Acting immediately on his master's orders, Absol begin to pick up speed, running around the foe's Empoleon in circles in an attempt to confuse it, and it seemed to be working!

The illusion created by Absol's Double Team attack made it seem as thoguh there were at least 20 of him to the Empoloen standing in the centre of the arena. For a momnet it stood still, trying to figure out which one to attack, ignoring it's trainer's orders, unable to bring itself to pick which one to attack.

That was when Absol struck.

"Absol, use Night Slash!"

Reacting in an instant, Absol leapt high into the air above the Empoleon, making a cross-ways movment with his head, the beam of black light erupted from the horn on it's head, slamming hard into the penguin.

The Empoleon staggered. "Come on Empoleon, show the what you can do, Hydro Pump!"

Looking directly at Absol, it opened it's mouth wide, and short forth an extremely powerful jet of water, which caught Absol full in the face. It was sent rolling across the arena, but just as the momentum ran out it hopped up onto it's feet.

"Ok Absol, they've had their fun, but since Number 4 and the champion aren't here, we're not going to be able to let them pass, finish this off, Perish Song."

Planting it's feet in the ground, Absol let out a mournful screech. The opponent's pokémon seemed almost unaffected for several seconds after the sound had finished. Then it toppled over, completely unable to fight.

"Well that just about wraps things up. Please use the door behind you to get back to the pokémon centre." With that she called Absol back to it's ball and left through the door on her side of the arena.

Without Number Two here, there have been a lot more trainers than usual come through here, most of whom are totally unprepared to face me, it's a shame really, but I can't go easy on them...

Rena slowly gravitated outwards from the main group of children, some a couple her own ages, but most were a couple years younger. Her eyes were roaming over everyone, recognizing features and taking in faces.

Someone else had just arrived; he seemed to be quite late. A boy her own age entered the lab and kept his distance. Tilting her head to the side, she wondered what would keep the boy from socializing. Perhaps he was like her and felt it uncomfortable to do so.

She wasn’t sure with who she would be on this journey, if not anyone, but at least she could remember them when they crossed paths on the road ahead.

She went to look at her wrist, but noticed she was missing her PokeGear.

Startled, she stepped away from everyone else and went to a table. She settled her bag on the desk and immediately started scouring its contents for her PokeGear. “Oh no…” If she’d forgotten it at home, it’d be a long time for her to get it back, and it’s not like they grew on trees! The more she looked, the more anxious she got, and the less chance there was of her finding it amongst everything she had.
