Nintendo Pokemon Diamond And Pearl

Google is your best friend. I have no idea where to find Aipom, but with the help of Google, I can act as if I knew all along.

Let's see...

A rancher on route 210 has an Aipom in his party, as does a pokemon ranger on route 212.

If you want to catch one, you'll have to use honey trees.

I only have poop to trade...because most of the pokemon on Diamond/Pearl are poop.

I wouldn't mind a battle...but I lent my DS to a friend. Might have to put that one on hold.

I have pearl but i havn't really played it much, my DS has taken a backseat for quite a while now.
When i did play though i found the best way to play against other people was to go on over to Gamefaq's section on the game and check their message boards, They have many players there all trading and fighting and whatnot.

My younger bro has this game. I've been kinda itching to play it, actually. Not to play the whole game, but just to see what it's all about.

...and no one needs to ask a Pokémon related question again!

I'm currently up to 289 Pokémon caught on Pearl, and I'm currently playing through Diamond to get the ones that are exclusive to that version.

I prefer http://www.psypokes.com/ to serebii for most things Pokélated...er, that can be a word, right? Sure, why not?

I'm just emulating Diamond, myself...kind of lame since I can't do any of the neat sounding Wi-Fi stuff...oh wells...I'm totally not playing it as I should either...Unless I already know the Pokémon, I'm pretty much just letting them evolve...and I really have a hard time choosing a team in any of the Pokémon games...and w/o the ability to trade, I'll never be able to evolve my Kadabra into an Alakazam! V_V

There is still a lot of stuff you can do without the Wi-Fi. Would you be prepared to cheat, ie, remove the Kadabra and replace it with an Alakazam?

That's a pretty good website. http://www.smogon.net is always good for strategies for competitive battles, with things like movesets and stuff.

Remove it? Like using a code or...? There aren't wild Alakazam, right? I'm not very far in it, but I'm pretty sure I already checked that...

I'm also emulating Yellow & Emerald (found out later that if I had chosen Fire Red, Leaf Green, Sapphire, or Ruby I could have used linked two running emulators to trade w/myself...but, no, not w/Emerald for w/e reason...V_V and certainly no support for a GB game!)...yeay! I recently did the Mew trick for Yellow! That was neat, I thought...*shrugs* serebii didn't seem to believe you could get it, the only way they said you could catch Mew was "Must Obtain from Nintendo Rep", but psypokes had the step-by-step, which is one reason why I liked it more...Their "Psydex" is pretty damn informative & concise too.

Emulating Diamond's also a bit tougher than the previous installments since my emulator doesn't allow for fast forward or save state features (that I know of anyways)...V_V It's like I'm playing it on the actual system, like a SUCKER! lol

I love this game, and I don't care how old I am I probably always will love these games...
I'm up to 243 on Diamond, but I haven't got any Wi-Fi stuff, so I should probably get that so I can trade online...

You could just use a Gameshark code, as most Emulators I get have a cheating option...

What emulator are you using? I've got the No$NDS (or whatever the fuck its called) and I'm finding it slow and it freezes everytime I defeat a Starky or an additional Pokedex entry is added after a Pokemon capture.

Just 'hack' it I suppose. I don't know if you can still have Action Replace/Gameshark type hacks on emulators these days. The last emulator I had (back in the Red/Blue/yellow era), you could put in a code to make all random pokémon Celebis or Mews, and then turn the code off when you've caught one. That kind of principle. It's worth looking into I suppose.

Ah, yeah, I'm not so into using codes unless I've already beaten w/e game it is...

Yeah, I'm running no$gba (yeah, it's got a weird name) too...It does run a bit slow for me...can't be running any other programs (or even being online) on this lappy w/o it getting down to about 55-65%...but usually it's fine...I haven't had it freeze on me at all, though...maybe it's your ROM? or maybe you've somehow got an older version of no$gba?

Am I the only one here who actually bought the games?

Anyway, yeah I'm into Pokemon as much as I am FF. Although I prefer to do things as legit as possible, no codes or devices involved. I'm a bit of a purist in that sense, but at least I won't potentially cause my game any problems.

Oh and I highly recommend www.smogon.com for any competitive Pokemon information, although I would say that since I mod there :-)

I buy the games, I buy all my games in fact. I complete disagree with emulators unless they actually 'own' the game to start with.

I haven't played Diamond in a while though, and now I have my PSP so I think it could be another long while until I do although the games were indeed epic and fun. :neomon:

Really? What are players supposed to about games that don't come out where they're from? Or how are gamers supposed to preview older games that no renting place holds because it's on an older system? Not to mention games that just aren't for sale anymore...Or that you can't find...I mean, a lot of ROMs are for games that if you managed to buy would be from some 3rd or more party so it's not like your money sees the company who's game you bought
...but it really just comes down to who you care about and your values? Or something? I don't see it as being any different from having MP3s really...

I'm not generally for ROM's, seeing as for more recent games, that you can still quite easily buy, may as well put your hand in your pocket, and pay for them.

Older games, I don't have an issue with tbqh. Mainly because if you can't get these in the store or anywhere else, you are just limited to emulating.

I'm talking about emulators/ROMS in general not just old games...

...and of course the original company sees the money, the game shops etc. buy it off the company/distributor and then sell it for more to gain a profit. Its how most businesses work. Your money probably won't go to the company if it is an old game but at some point and somewhere along the line someones money has done.

I'll agree with Judge Rulia to a certain degree as if you can't find them anywhere then emulators might be the only option, however, Diamond and Pearl are not old games, they are about as far away from that as you can get so there is no excuse of not being able to find them and they aren't that expensive either.
