Up a mountain near cow farms rural, as in you have to travel an hour to get to walmart rural
i'm just seeing a lot of rural living people complain that there isn't any pokemon for areas like this

On a side note, Pokemon GO is going to overtake Twitter as far as daily active users?
I'm not sure if that's for both Android and iOS, but still. Do we think that's a good, bad, and/or expected thing?
It's incredible how this game caught the attention of so many people in the world. This game has been so successful that it broke the record for most sold in a short period of time. It also has rised the shares of Nintendo by 86% to $17 billion dollars in market value in the past week. That is extremely huge for Nintendo and It still hasn't been released in other countries like Spain, Italy, etc, yet. This is one of the biggest and most played game in the current gaming community at the moment.

This Pokemon Go phenomenon going on right now is seriously fucking legendary. I literally have no words to describe how insanely successful this game is. What a time to be alive!
I'm curious, for other players on here, have you caught any rare ones?
For example, Pikachu was a rare one for me. Caught it about an hour after downloading the game, and I haven't seen the critter since. Must've just been lucky, I guess. Now I just find a bunch of Rattatas around.

I got a bunch of Rattatta's around here... and Weedle... and Pidgy... Eevee is common around my area too, already got all three Eevee evolutions thanks to that! the rarest I caught was Charmander and Squirlte... There is an Abra around me somewhere around here but can never find him!
Haven't gotten any starters at all, almost saw a squirtle however. Been getting loads of eevee's and seem to be finding clefairy and jigglypuff a lot now as well. Also got an abra myself.
Do you have Pikachu? Because when you started the game you should have gotten a starter to choose from, heard if you didn't get one of those three you can get Pikachu somehow....
But I got a question for everyone, when you are throwing the pokeballs, do you wait until the circle is really small or big? I seen people saying both ways that one is better than the other, so just curious what eveyone on here thinks.
My touch screen was acting up so I didn't get to choose for w/e reason it gave me a bulbasaur. However I did read that if you don't touch any of those starters for the first 3x they appear the fourth time they bring pikachu with them. As for throwing the pokeballs I wait untill the circle is small.
Meowth is my elusive one at the moment! There's one in the area, but it's such a sneaky little SOB.
I don't think I've come across an Abra, though. Which is weird. I think it's one of the more common of them to catch.

On the bright side, it is bringing people outside and socializing with one another. I have met quite a few interesting and chill people going out and about looking for Pokemons in new parks, dams, and downtown in general.
I'm currently level 20 (highest of the legit cousins
) and have found over 80 Pokemons, over 10 new ones since coming to Cali yesterday. 
My strongest Pokemon is a 1600 Charrizard! And I also have a 1500 Vaporeon. 
So, I hear there are a lot of PokéStops around beaches, when are we going?

A new holiday event was announced for Pokemon Go. This time players will be able to earn bonuses, hatch Eggs more easily, and even encounter more Pokemon originally from the Sinnoh region. The third annual winter event begins on Tuesday, December 18, and once again, it brings back the festive hat-wearing Pikachu for a limited time. On top of that, Niantic says that more Ice-type and Gen 4 Pokemon will appear during the event; the promotional image the developer shared features Snover and its evolution Abomasnow, along with Munchlax, Chingling, and Croagunk. The image also features three Legendary Pokemon from the Sinnoh region--Azelf, Uxie, and Mesprit--suggesting the trio will make their debut in Pokemon Go soon. On top of that, Niantic says the rare Ice Pokemon Delibird will also be available during the winter event, as will its Shiny variant.
Along with the new Pokemon, Niantic will offer a number of bonuses throughout the event. These will be meted out every few days. From December 18-22, players will earn twice as much Candy for catching and transferring Pokemon; from December 22-26, they'll receive twice the usual amount of Stardust for catching monsters; from December 26-30, players will get double catch XP; and from December 30 to the end of the event on January 2, Incubators will be twice as effective as normal.

The Lunar Pokemon is scheduled to leave Raids today, December 18, at 1 PM PT / 4 PM ET, making this your last opportunity to catch one for the time being.
Just as with most other Legendaries in Pokemon Go, Cresselia will spawn at certain Gyms. To catch one, you'll first need to head to a Gym where a Cresselia Raid is taking place and then team up with other players in-person to battle it. If you manage to successfully bring Cresselia down, you'll be rewarded with a handful of Premier Balls; you can then use these to try to capture it.
Cresselia is a pure Psychic-type Pokemon, making it vulnerable to Bug-, Ghost-, and Dark-types. It's also got high HP and defense stats, so you'll want to bring along Pokemon like Tyranitar, Houndoom, Scizor, and Giratina--if you managed to capture one before it left Raid Battles earlier this fall--for your best chance to defeat it.
Cresselia is the second Gen 4 Legendary to appear in Pokemon Go, following the aforementioned Giratina, which initially arrived as part of this year's Halloween Event. Developer Niantic has announced that Attack Forme Deoxys will be available in EX Raids later this month. Along with taking on a different appearance, Attack Forme Deoxys has a much higher attack stat than its standard form, and Niantic warns that it will be a "difficult challenge that requires Trainers to take advantage of every opportunity."
The new form of Deoxys is set to arrive with the next cycle of EX Raid invites, which are scheduled to go out beginning December 20. Unlike standard Raid Battles, you can only participate in EX Raids if you've received an invitation. In order to get one, you'll first need to have recently won a Raid Battle at a "qualifying" Gym. These are denoted by an EX Raid tag in the upper righthand corner when you look at the Gym's details.
In the meantime, players still have a little more time to catch Pokemon Go's latest Legendary, Cresselia.
