I'm actually very surprised a topic hasn't been done on this, 9 pages of search results and the only related topics were spam or RPing. So who here practically had sex with Pokemans when they were a kid, and who here still plays the games?

I was obsessed with it when I was little, my interest in it started to wane though about the time Crystal came out. But thanks to the nostalgia factor and the pure addiction of GOTTA CATCH EM ALL I still play them. Actually I just dl'ed the Fire Red ROM on my comp, since all my other Pokemans ROMs are on my laptop. Yes yes, shame on me for using ROMs, I know. But I sold my GBA a year or two ago since I just don't play handhelds.

I STILL have sex with the Pokemans. Those games rank as some of my all-time favorites.

I was a little disappointed with Diamond/Pearl, as the new pokemon were pretty much crap, but it's a pokemon game...so I was willing to devote a large amount of time to playing it.

I keep my gameboy only for pokemon nowadays. haha

I've not played me old Pokemon games in God knows how long, although I'm tempted to try and dig out my Gameboy colour and Pokemon Blue and Silver games. :neomon:

Used to play these games religously when I was wee. I would almost always start off with the water pokemon, so Squirtle and Totodile, although sometimes Bulbasaur on blue because he was super-effective against the first two gym leaders. Or I would use my sister's game to trade over all three. :wacky: I was a huge cheat tbh, the second I got to Cinnabar Island I was Missingo'ing master balls and rare candies to create mein army of super-pokemen! I caught a missingo once though and it completely fucked up my game. ¬_¬

I used to play my brother's Ruby aswell, which is good but really different from blue and silver, I'd say the best one was silver. Although the new pokemon (mon? men?) on diamond are so freakish, they're really running out of ideas now. -.-

I play the games a lot when they get released, and have the urge to go and play them every now and then. The other day I wanted to play Pokemon Yellow xD I'm still gutted that they didn't remake yellow, or gold and silver.

Diamond and Pearl were good, but none of more recent ones have the charm that the ones for the Gameboy / Gameboy color did.

Hahaha, I did the same thing. I forget which item slot gets maxed out, though. The 6th, is it?

I try not to use the cheat, but it's hard to resist sometimes...especially with a finite amount of rare candies available.

Water pokemans are awesome, Blastoise is like one of my favorites evar. Golduck and Gyrados were awesome too :neomon: Totodile was alright, it was either him or that horribly deformed chikorita thing or the messed up cyndaquil whatever.

I was always a massive cheat with Cinnabar and Missing No., I had like lvl 110 Snorlaxes, tons of rare candies and master balls and gold nuggets and everything. Oddly enough, Missing No. never messed up my game.

Liez. Yellow was the bastard game of the series. Pikachu constantly followed you around, they changed the Pokemans' poses so when you found Mewtwo it looked like he was thrusting, and they got rid of the Missing No. glitch. I was quite unhappy with my purchase of the game.

Diamond and Pearl were good, but none of more recent ones have the charm that the ones for the Gameboy / Gameboy color did.
The newer versions just have lamer and lamer Pokemans. Hell, Diamond and Pearl have a monkey thing as a STARTER Pokemon....Mankey in Red/Blue was bad enough. There's a few cool ones thrown in from time to time, like Evee's extra evolutions, but there's not enough to balance out the lack of creativity.

That, and you have to play as a fashionably challenged trainer - the worst feature besides Bidoof, imho.

Silver was the ultimate shit. It would be awesome if they remade it, because it was the only game that allowed you to beat all the Gym leaders and travel to another country.

Plus it had Houndoom, moar win. :neomon:

My missingno was the fucking pwnage, I had a level E95 one. It had four Fire blasts :wacky:

I loved the Gem series, it r kicked ass. But yeah, the pokemans from Diamond are fugly as shit tbh. The only ones I like are the eevee evolutions, Buizel, Zubat, and a few others. I really didn't like a lot of them that came from the new saga.

And Bidoof was just shit. He looks even more retarded when he evolves. Zigzagoon >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> Bidoof.

At least Zigzagoon was cute.

Diamond and Pearl were good, but none of more recent ones have the charm that the ones for the Gameboy / Gameboy color did.

Maybe they should stop making retarded pokemans and just expand on what they've got that doesn't suck. Just make a few pokemans every few series, maybe like 40-50 of them. No-one ever uses a lot of the ones they even make for anything because they look so stupid. D :

Typhlosion > gay dinosaur/alligator thing tbh :neomon:

I disliked Pikachu following me around so much, I traded him and had him evolved into a Raichu. :elmo:

DID THE OTHER VERSIONS HAVE A FLAMING FAGGOT MONKEY? THEY MOST CERTAINLY DID NOT. GTFO. :wacky:

Sadly, I'm sure that everyone would rather have a mankey than a flaming faggot monkey. I know I would.

i h8 Bidoof

Goddamn chipmunk...beaver...thing...

Why the hell did that lame pokemon appear in EVERY stinking area? It's a crap pokemon that should have stopped appearing once you left the first town.

Bidoof makes me want to blow chunks out my butt...in the face of another Bidoof. :monsmash:

I guess they had to think a common Pokemon more annoying than Ratatta and uglier than Paras or Mankey :elmo:

I am such a total cheat. I'm playing Leaf Green on VBA, and thanks to teh cheat codes I caught a Bulbasaur (now evolved), Charmander (now evolved), Mew (won't obey me), Steelix, and Jolteon. But I'm not completely abusive with cheats, I made everything equal levels so I still have to lvl up just like normal. Takes all the fun out of it when you use too many cheats :neomon:

I gotta say though, the soundtrack fails. I thought it would be just like the Red/Blue soundtrack, only not 8-bit...but it's not. Either that or my VBA's sound is fucked up.

I used to play pokemon when i was younger. I remember when i was little, i couldnt wait to get blue and yellow xD I was practically begging for it.

My first pokemon game was blue. I loved squritle and he is still one of my favourites. Then i traded games with my friend so i got red. Red was ok but i still prefer my blue. Then i got Yellow. I didnt like it that much cause pikachu wasn't that good. It was hard to kill some of the other pokemon because lightning wasnt effective on them. I then got silver and loved it. I got Pokemon trading Card game and absoultly loved it. I still play it on occcasion. Never did get anything else. I dont have a ds but i reallllllllly wanna get pokemon diamond or peral

Im ashamed to say Iv never played it, I have it so Il get round to it....eventually :wacky:

Once Iv got some batteries for my Gameboy :neomon:

Why waste money on batteries when you can download an emulator and play it on your computer? :wacky:

I suggest downloading Pokemon Ruby, Sapphire, or Emerald and the Visual Boy advance. It plays Gameboy Color and Gameboy advance games btw. Make sure if you download one, that you pick one that isn't in beta. srsly makes a lot of games not work on the emulator sometimes. :neomon:

Yarly. Not to mention you has a Code Breaker and Action Replay built right in. I caught myself a Flygon and Metagross just a little while ago, thanks to codes :wacky:

But there's ALOT of Pokemon ROMs out there that suck ass and will tell you thinks like "battery pack corrupted! cannot save!" and shit, so you may end up going through alot to find one that works. Still....it's free xD

But there's also the ability to save files straight to your hard drive. I hate it when I get that shit, it r suxx.:neomon:

I downloaded a hacked pokemans game called Chaos Black, and it sux ginormous coc, even more than D/P. I mainly can't stand it because you pick a gay orb thing, a blob, or a lion for a starter pokemon. It r rly ghey.

Its probably the sound on your VBA. Havent played it in a while now but my Leaf Green had more or less the same soundtrack than the originals just not 8-bit. When you gain access to the new islands you hear 'remixed' versions of the Gold and Silver music's.

I hate Chaos Black too. what a wast of time for the hacker who made it!>_<

I love Pokemon. It may be childish but they are brilliant games to be fair. I loved playing R/B and uploading them onto Pokemon Stadium. Yellow was the only one you could get the three starters legit without having to trade (which I did for all other releases hehe) and was stoked when G/S/C came out (the day and night feature was epic, shame it didnt stay for the Advance games). I was a little dissapointed with R/S/E though. Good games but they left out alot of older 'mons and droped feature that I really enjoyed in G/S/C. but then they made the remakes of R/G to help you get the old R/B/G/S pokemons which was quite cool but pain in the arse if you wanted ALL on the same game. And getting rare ones like Mew and Celebi again was ridiculas.

Havent really played Pearl much though yet but I do agree the new 'mon look really fucking ghey. Whats people opinion on what is the best starter this time around anyways?

Used to love playing pokemon when I was younger, still have red, blue, yellow, gold, silver and crysal somewhere in the house

Pokemon Yellow sucked compared to Blue. You had no choice but that stupid Pikachu, which oh, guess what, had NO EFFECT on rock pokemons, which conveniently were the first type you had to battle. Sooo that meant you had to train your pikachu up until it learnt Quick Attack (and train it too far and the stupid rat doesn't obey you) and catch a bunch of other crappy 'normal-type' pokemon for back-up. Whereas on blue you could get a trusty squirtle and the second you learnt water gun you were on your way. :neomon:

I have the Roms and emulator on my PSP. Unfortunately, I cannot battle others, so I mainly play the actual games on my DS. Once you start EV training your Pokemon, theres nothing worthy to fight in the game.

One of the few times where Mankey was your friend. Fighting ownes Rock. :neomon:

I didn't know you could capture Mankey prior to the first gym battle.

I didn't bother with Yellow (f u, Pikachu), so the pokemon locations may have changed from Blue/Red.
