Nintendo Pokemon

I loved pokemon! That game and the anime was the shiz!

I rememebr for my birthday I got Blue ( which was my first pokemon game) because my I'd seen my friend play the game a couple of months before and I thought it was sooo cool. So I pestered my mum to buy me a gameboy colour and Pokemon Blue.

Awww... those were the days.

The original Pokemon got my hooked but the newest version's losing its touch.

I remember waking up every saturday and getting my GBA SP just to level up my Emerald party to 100.

Blue Rescue Team had an interesting story line but it was kind of a let down where you could only use the main character and your original partner at some point. And the fact that you can only evolve after the main story.

I am a pokemon nut, I play it all the damn time, especially the old ones...
Although the ability to sync the old pokemon onto my Diamond Game is...
AWESOME!

I still perfectly remember the theme from the anime XD

Blue was my first one too :neomon: I had it for my GameBoy Pocket (it wuz Ice Blue color too, I still have it actually). I played the hell out of that game, even bought a Pokedex guide and a strat guide.

You guys are all crazy, I started with Red...
I didn't like Bellsprout or Vulpix, so I got red because, I thought, it had better pokemon...
Woe was me...

I had the ice blue Game Boy Pocket, too! I kept it for a long time, even after I had a pink Game Boy Advance. I donated it once I bought a DS.

I also started with Red, like most of my friends. Only my little brother and one other guy at school had blue.

Oddish > Bellsprout
Growlithe > Vulpix

I played the earlier ones because I was younger and it appealed to me then, but now I don't play it anymore. I started with blue, but only because my brother bought that one, although I prefer most of the Pokemon from red, but I ended up being able to play both. I got as far as gold and silver before I lost interest.

We had Pokemon Stadium for awhile, and it was fun until we lost the pak for the gameboy game.

It's surprising that people don't notice the majority of trainers in the game use poison Pokemon. Which was probably why psychic Pokemon seemed so strong. Even if they weren't poison though, most psychic Pokemon had such high special ratings that their attacks work fairly well on any other Pokemon. Beating Bruno, Agatha and Giovanni was a walk in the park because of that.

Psychic types in the old days were pretty overpowered due to that they had no real threats to expose their only weaknesses which was Bug and Ghost at the time. The moves were either pretty weak or those who had them were part poison so were actually weak against them.

This sadly meant that pretty every event I went to involved a constant barrage of Mewtwo's and Alakazam's.

I never looked at the differences between the versions before getting Red, I got it only because it had Charizard on the front.

I forgot to mention their speed is devastating too. I know the fastest Pokemon in Red and Blue aren't psychic Pokemon, but you're pretty much guaranteed to go first against most Pokemon if you're using a psychic.

I agree that Psychic Pokemon were pretty dangerous in Red/Blue, but once we got a decent set of Dark Pokemon it seems like everyone started using those instead. (I have to admit, my Honchkrow is pretty gangsta.) Still, if I can avoid a Night Slash here or there Alakazam is still one of my favorite Pokemon to use.

Until they get utterly owned by Fighting 'mons.

I want more Dragon types, decent ones though that arn't duel-flying so they don't get too raped by Ice.

Yeah, but it seems like no one uses Fighting Pokemon that much. Or maybe I should say no one I know, even though I don't remember seeing it that much online, either.

Oh, Dragon type. Articuno + Lance = total dominance.

I've only really played Pokemon Silver 'cause it was the only game I had for my GBC (I only got back into gaming a few years).

I played alone and didn't have the connecting cable thing, so I never got 151 pokemons, but I did utilize the clone cheat a lot.

It ruined the game for good and now it can't save so I don't play it anymore, but good times :monster:

I started with blue, but then I traded games with this kid at school, and got red XD
I was in like 2nd grade. The originals were the best imo

Articuno sucks balls as do most 'legendaries'. I use Vaporeon with Aurora or Ice Beam, much more better.

Grass-poison is the worst combination. Ever. I even looked it up in a strategy guide which had a table of the types and their weaknesses. They're typically weak against psychic (haha), fire, flying, ground, ice, and probably more I don't even remember now.

Beating Erika was a joke.

I always got put off using Lapras because of the low level it comes to you with. By that time my Vaporeon is already god-like so no need for an Ice Type.

Dragon types are weak against ice attacks anyway so they'll still take a shit load of damage but just not as much.

Out of the 3 birds I thought Zapdos rocked, as an Electric/Flying it avoided most of it's weakesses from both its types apart from Ice and Rock I believe. I would have used it but I've always preferred Jolteon which has always been one of my mains.

Tbh I'm against using Legendaries in general, better to mix it up.

That's true...though I like evolving my Eevee into Jolteon, personally. Definitely one of the best electric types in the game.

As for legendary bird pokemon, I prefer Zapdos. If for nothing else, then for how much cooler it looks than the other two. =]
