i belive that this was one of the worst ff for game play and for music and story line. if anyone can think of a worse ff please tell me so i no to stay away

i think its not the worst FF ever made - its close though.

the worst FF games made are FFX-2 and FFVIII.

i think this game is considered to be so bad because it has a complex leveling system, however if you understand it, it becomes easy to manipulate and become really powerful early on in the game.

You say FF8 was worse...How so?

If there is perfection it's this game...It's perfect...perfectly horrid!

People put down FF Mystic quest and yet even THAT game was better!!!!

I think FF8 was a great game... i dont know what you are talking about, but that is ur opion i guess lol

I don't think this is the worst FF game. I actually liked the storyline and music. The leveling up stuff I didn't like so much but i got used to it.

Well i thought FFVIII was a terrible game which deserves the title of worst FF game ever.....

Thats why i dont think FFII should get that title, once i understood the battle system i found it to be quite fun ^_^ (i cannot seem to say the same about FFVIII) and the story was pretty cool for a nes game, i think the difficulty curve of it was just a bit too high.

Personally i think FFVIII is the best,i loved the characters, fascinating story, solid game play (even if magic was limited) and the Artsist design of the characters, towns and the world.

but as for FFII,from what ive played i didnt like the wholeremeber the text gag.but i thikn it could make a sweet reamke on the PS3/XBOX360 get 1 and 2 in a pack that would be superb.i should really Buy FF Origins again i loved that game.
Also i find this Concept art Picture Stunning.

Or how about Final Fantasy Adventure? Ehh?
For any of you who have actually played this horribly horrible game, you know what i'm talking about.

FF II is INFINITELY better than FF I. The stat growth in FF II was genius, the spell setup was genius, it just had some problems with how damage was calculated (Berserk and Blood Sword were rigged, but spells were way too weak).

The story was a vast improvement over the original, too. I honestly thought it was pretty good. I also really liked the final boss music.

I haven't really played this game long enough to give it a ranking, but I think all FF games are good, because each has their own unique style about them, you can't turn around and say this is the worst in the series, when none of them are equal or because of a ballte system that changes with every game, the point of the battle system levelling up function is to keep it fresh, if all these games had the same battle system/levelling up, it wouldn't have made it to where it is today.

Plus the great stories that has been written for each game, but the story can be repetative in earlier games, but that's what people want in an RpG, a princess who needs rescuing, a villain and the heroes of the story.

I have the GBA version of this game and yes the battles are tough, probably the toughest in the series, but levelling up near a village is the best idea until you get the hang of it, but definately not the worst in the series.

That's right. It's about as easy to manipulate as FFVIII's Junction System, and it's a lot more tedious.

Final Fantasy Adventure is actually a Mana game. Therefore it doesn't qualify.

In all honesty the story line is more fleshed out than FF1 so I don't see how that can be a knock against it. The only thing I dont like about FF2 is the ability to crank your levels early game. Attack, cancel, attack, cancel, attack, cancel, attack... etc. That really brough the game down for me. I know you can ignore it... but its still there. I hope the remake will fix it this time.

From the little I've played of FF2 so far, it still looks more enjoyable than FF1. However, does the latter's originality make it better than the 8-bit sequals that followed? It's all subjective, although I fail to see how something on the scale of FF X-2 could be classed a worse game than FF2.

I thought the GBA remake got rid of that attack-cancel bug?
Maybe I'm wrong, I'll have to go find my cartridge and see.

I think this is the worst ff game. That doesn't mean its a bad game, the worst ff game is still a good game. The stat system really bugged me. And yes i understood how it works i just didn't like it.

for me it's not the worst FF. I enjoy the gameplay and story a lot like sneeking in towns and avoiding places with monsters and soldiers. kinda similar to FF7 & 6. though it's kinda hard in the beginning if you're new to the series. the gameplay systems is unique and innovative that it makes me wonder, is this really the 2nd final fantasy ever made??

I don't really like it, but I haven't played it much....

I actually find no flaw in any ff except ffX-2 that game was worthless. The blitzball...was...ruined...
