psp, ps vita or nintendo switch?

I would highly recommend the Switch. But honestly, they all have their strengths.

Also, I don't think these consoles are what this subforum means by mobile games, lol.

I got more enjoyment out of the PSP, if you like Visual Novel games the Vita is your system but there wasn't that much else on there... Other than Gravity Rush which I love!

The PSP has a great library and able to play PS1 games too. Many PSP games I love I can't play on the Vita like Crisis Core obviously! (I hope to god S-E/Sont make that accessible on thei new PS+ Premium thingy!). The PSP also has some fothe best ports of the classic FF games - 1, 2 & 4. These games look phenominal and IMO are the best way to experience them - The sprite work looks perfect! Not too mobile but crisp 16-Bit/Modern design - I much preffer them to the Pixel Remasters on PC:

I had a Switch but sold it after a year from neglect, I just never played it. It's got a decent library now but I've never really enjoyed Nintendo's main properties - And it's not from a lack of trying either!

The complete collection for IV is absolutely the best way to play it, especially considering it's the only way to play the scenario that bridges IV and After Years. I really wish they had kept that going and done the same graphicly with both V and VI!

100% Agree! It's how I first experienced FFIV and it was a great way to play the game! I did play the GBa version of FFV which was still decent but would have loved a PSP port just like IV too! I'm really suprised S-E never ported these too Steam or Modern consoles, they CAN do it too as they've release the PSP port of Star Ocean 1. Maybe we could see it happen with the PS+ Premium thing launching next month.

:ninja: Bumped to Gold Saucer, as it's more fitting there. Please feel free to resume your discussions!

Square Enix has such a big opportunity with the new Playstation Plus to make their games from the PSP era way more accessible. The thought of being able to play Dissidia Duodecim on my big screen TV has me hoping and praying they make the right decision for once.

Absolutely! Of course I am also hoping this can resolve the lack of a HD port for Crisis Core - I'm also secretly hoping that the PS1 versions of the PS1 games are released too, I can't stand the PS4 ports especially FF9's ugly grey borders. So yes, this could be the chance to fix a lotof wrongs!

FF aside, there is a lot of JRPG goodeness on the the Switch now with the Xenoblade Chronicles series, Octopath Traveller, World Ends with You & Fire Emblem games. I just don't like how costly Switch games are... THEY NEVER DROP PRICE! Also back to FF and you get a nice port of FFX/X-2 & World of FF MAIXMA (Just make sure you get the right Asian versions so it's on cart and not a code in a box!)

isnt there no new generation handheld planned both by nintendo and sony? cuz switch is also 5 years old?
or are they plan to release all their games for android respec ios?

Sony seems to be done with the handheld market because of how poorly the Vita did. But honestly, I think a lot of that was their own fault. It was a very impressive system but the marketing just wasn't there and it was expensive to develop I believe. Not to mention there were cost issues when it came to needing a proprietary memory card rather than a standard Micro SD card. But never say never...Sony may decide one day that they want to take on the juggernaut that is the Switch.

With that being said, I'm sure Nintendo is pretty far into development for the next Nintendo console but we likely won't see it for quite some time. The sales numbers for the Switch are astounding and it just surpassed the Wii in sales. Nintendo does not want to hurt those sales until they start to slide. Nintendo's trend has been that every other console is a success so there is a lot of pressure for whatever is going to replace the Switch.
