SONY should've killed off their UMD disks a long time ago. I can't begin to describe how much I loathe the UMD disks.

The casing for the actual disk is actually very brittle(I had bought 2 copies of Mortal Kombat Unchained so i could still have the backup, but still be able to find out just how brittle the UMD disk really is).

The actual Disk itself is very small, very thin and if you so happen to be running with your PSP in your hand and accidently drop the PSP, the PSP itself will either break, or the UMD cover on the back of the PSP will pop open and the disk will pop out and get run over by a passing car(goddamn SUV's).

Thank god also had a backup PSP(the one I used was an older PSP Phat model that I had gotten when the PSP first came out).

With all that being said, I now appreicate the ability to download all my games onto my laptop(with my 250Gb External HD:ohshit:).

Thank God for MEDIA GO!!!!

Peace

Honestly when I had my old PSP I had no problems with that at all. The UMDs cases never broke for me and the disks didn't get scratched. And I'm pretty hard on that sorta stuff.

I do like downloading games too, but as I've learned the hard way, hard drives can come and go quite easily. One day they'll work fine, the next they crash on you. So it's not like it isn't still quite possible to lose your games.

I've never had an issue with the UMDs. I've found the cases to be rather sturdy. Then again I don't run around with my psp. In the street. Where cars can run over the UMD. That COULD solve your problem right there. :monster:

I like the way you think. :wacky:

And to be honest after thinking about it I did have one or two that got messed up, but those were through acts of my own that were quite outside the realm of anything that any sort of game is going to survive (like being ran over by an Suv). :wacky:

I've never had any issues with UMDs either; in fact, I quite like them. They're bigger than DS catridges, which I'm always worried I'm going to lose at some point, and they're not particularly brittle or anything. In fact, I've found the cases to be quite sturdy.

Downloading entire games is a nuisance - the filesizes are huge and, when you're connection is temperamental, if it cuts out halfway through then you've got to download them again, which is extremely aggravating. Having the option to download the game up to five times before you have to pay for it again is nice, though. Still, until every UMD game is released on the PSN, and even if that point ever comes (which I doubt it will) UMDs are definetely the better choice.
