PSP Walkthrough help?!?!

*Thanks Frisky for moving it. I suppose then I need to tell people though that this question is for Final Fantasy II*

I have been following a walkthrough I found on gamefaqs, and for the most part it proved to be quite useful. However, in the Kashuan Keep I do everything it says but the door it leads me to (the one that supposidly has the Red Soul protecting the Egil's Torch) is empty and nothing but monster filled. By this point I have used up all my MP on the adamantoises... somebody help please, I've done this dungeon 3 times now and Im losing my patience.
