Psp

I got one for Christmas and I like it. I don't have that many games for it yet, mainly because I already played all those PSone RPGs on the, take a guess, PSone. But other than that, it's a lovely system.

I not only use it for games, but I also use it as an e-book, store photo's on it etc.

You'll have to ask yourself what you expect from a handheld and to which degree the PSP can provide you with that. Are you looking for a mini-PS2? Or do you want more original games? What are you willing to pay for a handheld? What kind of games do you like? And so on.

i think that psp is worth buying

it has the PS2 graphics and is portable thats the most shocking thing

the psp has many other fasilites other than gaming

and so is completly worth buying

Not really, get a DS instead. Cheaper and a library of games not made up of mostly PS2 ports.
The DS is good, I agree.

The same, I'd say the PSP is DEFINITELY worth buying.
I bought mine, and I love it to death.
Just make sure the PSP you buy is v1.5, or at worst, a v2.71.

My PSP plays NES, SNES, MSX, GBA and PSone games, and it can read e-books as well as able to view vids.
I use it as my MP3 player as well.
AND you can go online on it pretty easily.

How sweet is that?
And for the record, I'm not lying.

I have emulators on my PC for those consoles and more for free.
I have e-books on my PC too, oh and vids for my PC and a DVD player which nobody else has these days I'm sure.
I have an mp3 player as well as pretty much anyone else.
And we also use these fantastic PC machines for getting online too!

Greatest thing is that 95% of people who back the PSP is they never mention one game for the bloody thing.

Yeah, but you're using different devices for some of 'em, when the PSP could do all of 'em in it.
What I was tryin' to say is the PSP could do what I mentioned in the earlier post, so that people will have more to do with it, rather than just play only PSP games.

Two of those games aren't even out genius.
Yeah, but they are great games for PSP owners to look forward to, smartass.

Which most people can do anyway and with a far better quality, why buy a movie you already have when you can play it on a DVD player? It's fucking pointless.

Something to look forward to perhaps but I wouldn't get a console just for something that's not out yet. Pleb.

Dood have you heard of memory stick. You don't have to go out and buy the movie just save on to a memory stick compatible with the PSP and there you're watching it.

Why do you buy consoles? Seriously isn't it because you "want a game for it"

Blergh. I never really rated the PSP as something worth getting. Granted, I've never played or owned one, but they do strike me as somewhat worthless. I invested in a DS in stead.

Although, I'm a bitch for wasting money for games, so I'll probably end up getting one for whatever FF7 extension is coming out for it. Crisis Core or whatever.

I buy them for games, that's it. I don't give a flying monkeys about potential or whatever else it can do. However I'm not someone who buys a console for something that isn't going to be out in a years time since that's just plain stupid, the console may have gone down in price or you'll have a better option at what is available to you so it's better to wait.

It was the same with the DS with very few games at the start worth anything but after a year or so it improved and I don't doubt that the PSP will get games of worth but looking at it now that is not the case for me.

Scrutator, you're missing the point, dude.
The guy asked if it's worth buying the PSP.

Sure, you can do all that with various devices, where some might perform better with 'em and stuff, but hey, you could do just about the same thing with the PSP.
Plus, the PSP's portable, so if you're out and stuff, you could put stuff you want in it and well, enjoy 'em when you're out.
In other words, the PSP's pretty versatile.

Then again, you're gonna come up with somethin' else to go against.
Meh, to each his own.

And I gave my opinion, as a console the PSP is not worth the purchase atm. If he cares for the multimedia functionality then fine be my guest and get it but he never said anything about what he was specifically was looking for so I gave him my reasons from a gaming perspective since it is games that determine whether or not a console is worth anything.

wow this thread turned out better then i thought! thank oyu all for the suggestions. i was debating on wether or not to get one because like Scrutator said it doesnt have that many games out for it, but the multimedia part of it is awesome. thanks for the suggestions. by the way when is it that the FF games will come out for the PSP?

Try some other RPGs. Tales of Eternia and Valkyrie Profile are also ports, but they are great games.

I already played them on the PSone though... I've had my PSP for just two months now, so I don't have a lot of games for it yet, but I've been enjoying Locoroco and Lumines. My other two games are Untold Legends (was a gift, don't really like it, not my kind of game) and Popolocrois (it was cheap, it's not remarkebly good, but I like it). The games I would like to play are the Legend of Heroes games.

Finally someone mentioned Valkyrie Profile. I borrowed my friends PSP with his copy of Valkyrie Profile and I loved the game. Storyline doesn't really pick up until the.... well... the ending (^_^) but it is a great game nonetheless. Hard mode has a ton of secrets and the battle system is pretty fun too.

As far as buying the PSP, I would. I played it online and it worked great fro anything textwise. It wouldn't play videos online or music but you could upload all that stuff to the PSP from your computer. From what I've seen of the PSP, it's worth it.
