Question about Cloud!

This might be a bit of a stupid question but how come after Zack was killed they never looked for Cloud?
He was an escaped test subject too, but as soon as they'd dealt with Zack they just gave up and went home. Shouldn't they have looked for Cloud too?
 
There's the reports in the Shinra mansion saying they let the other test subject go because he was deteriorating, I guess they just assumed he'd die
 
Perhaps they thaught he had died? Maybe among killing zack, they did not see Cloud around, and assumed the worst had become of him via Mako poisoning, as he was badly sickened. You also need to keep in mind that it is sometimes hard to make a prequal that has everything make sense in it. But I would assume that it is because they thaught he was already dead.
 
Well, remember that when he was in the tank, prior to their escape, he was already suffering from the Mako and Jenova Cell exposure. Hojo likely assumed that he was bound to enter the same vegetable-like state that the "successful" experiments did and eventually make his way to the Jenova Reunion. Thus, he ordered that Cloud be left alone.

The alternative is that they just didn't consider him a threat. I mean, he was in a comatose, laid out, with the status of a lowly infaltry soldier (as oppose to 1st class Zack). They could have just left him for dead.
 
Yeah I think he was essentially left for dead.
They knew he was around, but figured he was too weak / comatose to possibly make it to safety. They probably assumed that he'd just stay there, catch a cold and die.

I think in the original game they might even comment on how he is too weak to possibly survive, and then just walk off and leave him without finishing him off. I might be wrong, but I think they say that in some way.
 
I'm pretty sure they thought he died sometime along with Zack. They're main target was Zack though. I think they may thought Cloud wasn't worth the trouble. I'm really not sure.
 
I agree to that they didnt look at cloud being a threat and probably thought he must have died. Zack was mostly the one who was the target and to them, had the most power plus, he rebelled against them so basically they looked at him as a threat based on his Opposseson to SOLDIER.
 
Hojo believed Cloud to be a defective subject. He was in a state where they believed that he wouldn't even live, let alone be useful, so they let him go, as stated in the reports Kelly spoke of. They didn't see him as worthy of being captured again.
 
Yes. The Shinra mansion part does explain this. Cloud was ill etc. ee above basically. Also perhaps they were only worried about Zack because he was a member of SOLDIER? Since Cloud was not strong enough to join SOLDIER they may have assumed therefore that he would never be strong enoguh to oppose SOLDIER either, and as such whether they believed he was already dying or not they left him...

You can "see" what happened if you go to the basement of the Shinra mansion on Disk 3 :D

Also the part during Cloud's memory section in Mideel shows him unable to talk properly, most likely due to being weak, at the train station where Tifa finds him...
 
Cloud was deemed as a failure at first with the whole scientific experiments. So when they killed Zack, Cloud was already sick and would probably die without the soldiers shooting him. However, they were wrong as he did recover sometime later with the help of Tifa in Midgar.

on top of that add in the fact that much later into the game like late disc 2 or erly disc 3 hojo started to talk about how he was not exactly proud of how cloud turned out becuse of the state he was in but was surprised he became so powerfull over time.i hope that helps a bit more.

In the originla game they let Cloud live on purpose, because he seemed mentally defective I suppose, they shot Zack and upon seeing Cloud the lead soldier says to leave him.

I guess Cloud wasn't that Imortant to Shin Ra seeing as they let him go, and no one remembers him after those events, and Cloud even had a Run in with Pres. Shin Ra.
 
and i quote "your the traitor" <<<< but that was after he had joind avalanch. and done a bit of damadge to there ridiculuss amount of income by detroying the reactore in the begining of the game.

There was a report that said that Cloud was essentially unstable and deteriorating. It can be assumed that he was let go, because of this weakened condition he posed no threat.
 
So if Scientists thought he was deteriorating, why didn't he? 0.0
