Question about Ozma and the characters

So, as you can probably tell from my sig, I'm playing FFIX. I like to beat superbosses so I always make sure I prepare from the beggining. To defeat Ozma, is it necessary or at least useful to have max stats? I saw a guide on how to obtain them, but my characters are already level 7 and they won't get the necessary accesories until much later. So should I stop leveling and then level when I get the items or just go through the game normally?

The second question is: at what level do Amarant, Quina, Freya, and Eiko join? Because I levelled Zidane up to lvl 4 in the Evil Forest and Steiner, Vivi and Garnet all joined at level 1. If the four characters I mentioned are going to join at a very low level, I can forsee it being a hassle to get them up to strength.

its not neccasairly needed to max out the stats for Ozma, i didnt and beat him....eventually. Lol the biggest thing about Ozma is luck, the random luck of when hell attack you with what. But there is ceartain ways to prepare for it, i beleive the guide i used to beat him is on gamefaqs.com. But being about lv 60 or higher is good for Ozma.

well Freya joins after the fesival of the hunt, and she was the same level as the rest of my party during that time. Then once you leave Lindblum, you get Quina hes maybe a level or two lower then Freya. As for Amarant and Eiko, when they joined my party they both were five levels lower then the rest of my party. Sorry i couldnt remember specific numbers, hope this helps!

I don't know what to say about the Ozma battle, but I think when new party members first join, they're level is the average of the over-all party level from what I remember.
