When fighting the 20 Tomberrys to make the Tomberry King appear, Can you leave and save half way through? Or do you have to stay in the same place and fight them all? Its just I don't want to be beaten on the King then have to do the whole lot again?

You can go anywhere in the Cetra Ruins (although the only appear in the first place anyway) and still be fine. If you leave into the World Map, then you'll be stuffed.

It dosn't matter now anyway, As I read in the offical guide that he has alot of magic attacks so I used Carbuncle on my team, And when I got low on health I forgot about the magic protection so I used Full Life on Squall, And it got deflected back at the Tomberry King, I ended up getting destroyed. So I decided to come back later on in the game. I have Oden anyway.
 
Good idea would be to junction Kamikaze on a character, doing that wil instantly kill and tonberry, with it junctioned on squall, i did 33500 or something. And then stop doing that at around 17 tonberrys. Then make sure zell and squall have low HP, so they can do thier limits, you don't want to kill squall and then end up fighting the king without him.... and leave a character for healing during the king battle, Zell's limit is very usefull!

I do not have Kamikaze yet, I got there Limit Breaks on, mostly from hitting O reapetedly. But he has a huge amount of health. I think I'm going to go back and get him during disk 3. I know he has the nice Shop command tho.
 
yep thats called familiar instead of relying on magic to heal your characters you should use a Pheonix pinion when fighting tonberry king this will damage the king plus when all characters are dead it will restore your characters with its ashes. its a useful item but i think you have to have a certain ability to aquire one i know its like 60 mega potions or something to get it.
the only thing i got the tonberry for was its ability's because it doesnt do much damage in battel it has the HP plus 80% ability which is extremely useful in itself.
 
I can remember it taking me ruddy ages to get all 20 in one sitting. I don't remember being able to save either. The bizarre thing about this is, how would you know that killing 20 Tonberries will lead to something unless you found out from an external source? Nobody is going to hang around all day killing the same monster for fun and then suddenly discover the secret. Unless I missed a clue somewhere?
 
Nah, I think Square probly released in in the offical guide before anyone knew.

The worst thing is that they don't give you any EXP, So frustrating.
 
If you leave Edea's house in the Ragnarok and head straight towards Cactuar Island, the Centra Ruins are half way between the two in the middle continent. Fly around and you'll see what looks like a metal antenna structure in the middle of the waste lands, that is the Centra Ruins.

Also, if you obtained

, that was the Centra Ruins.

the best way in my opinion in the game is to cast meltdown and totally thrash the crap out of the enemies :)
