Quistis or Rinoa?

Also, the feelings that Quistis had where just her lingering childhood memories I think. It's still abit wrong tho, teachers get locked up for that kind of thing :wacky:

But the girl was less than a YEAR older than him. XD That's what made it so silly, because she's his teacher, but she's only a year older. It was no wonder Quistis seemed so alienated from the rest of the group.

I'm no fan of Rinoa, nor Squall, so, I think they're perfect for one another. I'd rather see Quistis with Seifer or Laguna. [Now THAT'S a way to stick it to Squall, haha.]
 
Lol, Quisis and Laguna seem much more likely than Quistis & Squall. That's why it's so daft having her as young as she was. She just came across as way older than she was xD
 
With Quistis being my personal favorite from 8, obviously I'm going with her.

However, I do like that she didn't end up with anyone. I always like to peg her with Seifer, personally. XD

I know I'm not alone on this come on!! Quistis was prettier than Rinoa... a better fighter. Better everything . If Quistis would have stayed in his face like Rinoa did he would have opened up to.

I don't totally agree with you, but i reckon Quistis is much more mature and Pretty, but Rinoa is not a child. She is cheerful, hyper and sometimes a little goofy, but she is OK.

Well my wish was that Quistis had stayed with Squall, unfortunately that didn't happen, Yeah i voted for Quistis.
 
I feel like Quistis and Squall just didn't mesh well. Not only had he never allowed himself to open up to her, but I honestly don't think she would've been able to do anything for Squall in the way Rinoa did. Rinoa and Squall are the perfect match IMO.

If it weren't for her, Squall wouldn't have started changing in the way he does towards the end of the game. Squall looked at Quistis as more of mentor and the older sis who always broke up his and Seifer's fights. I don't think Squall saw her anything beyond that, and never will. Otherwise he would've acted on it. He could've had her, but he didn't want her.

Now I think Quistis and Seifer would make a good match. Squall and Rinoa were meant for each other. Quistis is also more laid back, calm and mature. Rinoa had a vibrant spark to her that touched Squall's heart. Also I'm not saying I dislike Quistis. I like her very very much. Just as I like Rinoa. I just feel Rinoa is the better woman and better for Squall. *shrugs*

It took me a little while to realize that Quistis was only a year older than Squall, so for the beginning of the game I thought she was a pedo :monster:

But yeah, Squall and Rinoa were perfect for each other in my opinion. The Idea of Quistis and Squall being together just seems weird to me.
 
I THINK RINOA WAS A GREAT CHIC IMEAN ANGEL FEATHER WAS A MUST HAVE FOR ANY SERIOUSE USER OF MAGIC & FOR PEOPLE WHO ACTUALLY TOOK THE TIME TO FIGHT THERE ENEMIES WITH THE WEAK MAGIC AVAILABLE IN FF8 AT LAST COUNT I THINK RINOA HAD DEFEATED 4000 ENEMIES IN THE BATTLE METER JUST FOR THE RECORD SELPHIE IS THE BEST AMORE CHICK IN THE GAME AND GUY LIKE "IRVY" DONT DESERVE GER....NAH IRVINE'S COOL
 
I couldn't have cared less really. However, Quistis didn't seem to go well with Squall anyway - in my opinion that is.

I just finished the game and there are reasons squallxrinoa work.

It was different. Despite what some other person, I think a girl, said on this thread, it was unique to the final fantasy romances. Squall and Quistis were 'childhood friends' right? How many times does this happen in these games? From what I've noticed, all of them. Even in 7, I liked Aeris better but it's clear that the main romance was between tifa and cloud. In this one it's different. Rather than going for the ridiculously sexy,surprisingly strong, unnaturally smart and waaaaaaaay mature girl. He goes for the pretty, but kind of girl next door-ish, not defenseless, but kind of damsel in distress who tries but messes up, intelligent, but kind of airy, kind and mature at times, but more childish and naive than anything
Quistis had this sort of 'perfect' quality.
Rinoa was a more realistic character thrown into unnatural situations.

expanding on that, rinoa was deeper than Quistis, like I said, Quistis was an obvious choice. But Rinoa, as I said, was sort of, normal. She was unique, in that she was bubbly, outgoing, and kind of in-your-face. But she wasn't perfect. Opposite, in fact, she was out of place. It's like if one of us (Im talking females) got thrown into this world, we would probably be the same as Rinoa.

If you're talking a personal opinion, I would have to say Rinoa/Squall. I had no problem with Quistis, but I didn't think Squall showed any interest, romantically with her. I liked Rinoa better, I thought she had more to her character, and she had flaws, I don't like Mary Sues. I saw her better with Squall, because Squall fell in love with what made her quirky, and he loved her 'in your face' attitude, which noone else had shown to him, except for Selphie, but she was borderline annoying. To him. I like Selphie.
Also me and my boyfriend are exactly like the Squall and Rinoa relationship, me being rinoa, so I have a very deep affection for their romance.

But either way, after that huge long essay, it doesn't matter how we feel about it.Whether you like it, or Rinoa, or not. Squall and Rinoa are together, Quistis and Squall are not. End of Story.
Deal with it.
If you really wanna switch it up, let's say Rinoa and Quistis hook up and we can get some hot lesbian action.

I liked the way Squall ended up with Rinoa I think that the whole student instructor relationship would have been a bit weird.
 
Never really thought about the romance part of it that much to be totally honest. Though if I was in Squall's shoes I'd probably go for Rinoa too. She's hot, I'm terribly shallow, she's fun oh and it would be very awkward to be in a relationship with a person you know better as your teacher
than a childhood friend because your summonings been messing with your memories.

Quistis was someone who, IMO, could only support Squall. However, Rinoa was someone who could draw something out of Squall; she was able to change him, even by just a little bit.
 
Quistis had her charms but because she wasnt as much of a main character as rinoa was she was overlooked alot.
Rinoa has the cute anime like innocent character about her. Even though she can do your nut in by having those temper tantrums.
The ballroom dance scene Sinched her place here for me
Oh yeah and she has angelo
So yeah
 
I think trying to compare Rinoa and Quistis is ridiculous; they're two completely different types when it comes to both looks and personality. You need human differences to make the game more interesting. Variety is the spice of life, after all.

When it comes to romantic pairings, I feel Rinoa was the best match for Squall. His stern manner is well balanced by the whole optimistic, free and adventurous thing she had goin' on. Quistis may have gotten along better with a bookish guy... or, if you believe opposites attract, maybe ZELL (I always thought of them as a good pairing as a kid). OR MAYBE SHE SHOULD HAVE BEEN A LESBIAN WITH XU.

Selphie was my favorite female character, though. Always acting on impulse and she had brass balls. She cracked me up.
 
I've always been pro Rinoa and Squall! They balance one another out. I can imagine Quistis and Squall having a cold relationship after time - Squall wouldn't have been encouraged to change and would probably have neglected Quistis in the end. Even in the short space of time during the game's story, Rinoa helps Squall loosen up. If we are to assume the characters behave and react like real people, it's unlikely Squall is transformed completely, but he'll at least be happy and Rinoa will no doubt be less affected by the odd period of moodiness than Quistis...

Or maybe even Selphie... she was cute and they're both brunettes.

Quistis wears hipster glasses and carries a whip. It makes her personality seem harsh, abrasive, unyielding and a bit too serious for my tastes. :ohshit: Quistis as I remember her could be a closet dominatrix who is serial about wearing the pants in relationships and being in "charge".

Rinoa wears something which could be described as a cross between casual and functional. She's more relaxed and perhaps sane. She can roll with the punches and be assertive and disciplined when needed. Possibly unlike Quistis who has to be assertive and dominant all the time.

I think for me the choice would be Rinoa, always.

Its may be moreso the submissive type of men who enjoy being dominated, bossed around and told what to do who would prefer the company of someone like Quistis.

But, alas, I don't remember FF8 all that well.... I suspect I have it blocked from memory. :ohshit:

edit I don't have the slightest clue what I'm talking about, don't mind meee. :grin:
