Story
While explosively stripping the evil pirate LeChuck of his demonic mojo, Guybrush Threepwood inadvertently infects the entire Caribbean with the arch-fiend's expelled voodoo, which threatens to transform buccaneers into unruly pirate monsters. Pursued by a notorious cut-throat Pirate Hunter and a creepy French Physician who believes that Guybrush's eerily-infected hand holds the secret of eternal life, Threepwood sails the seven seas in search of La Esponja Grande, a legendary sea sponge with unparalleled voodoo exfoliating abilities. But little does Guybrush know, his quest is part of a larger, more sinister plot, and good and evil are not always as they seem…

Who can Guybrush trust? Where can he turn? Everything you think you know will be challenged as Tales of Monkey Island builds to its unexpected finale!

My prayers have been answered at last! More Monkey Island! More Dominic Armato as Guybrush! Just needs some Murray the Demonic Talking Skull and we'll be all set.

Good news. Old school adventure games have been scarce these last couple of years, so more Monkey Island is very welcome. Especially the enhanced remake of the first one.

Is this 100% confirmed? I dont want to get my hopes up in case its something a fan made or a teasrer, you know what I mean. If it is then, thats good, but Im not too keen on the graphics. They seem bit bleh to me lol. Remakes are okay, but I still love the old classics.

Considering that I linked in the OP the sites for the respective projects kinda proves that it is happening for real. We're a bit late for April 1st gags. This is actually happening.

The remake will have both the old school graphics as well as the new stuff so you can go between them both if you wished. Not sure if the V/A will still play but I imagine it would. They aren't changing the game itself either, it's the same game so if the new look etc don't appeal to you then it might be better for you to leave it.

Has anyone been playing Tales of Monkey Island? Chapter 3 is released next Tuesday, I can't wait. It's been so much fun so far

It's so quiet on this game.
Probably my favourite game of 2009 because of all the hype. I never really noticed Telltale Games before Tales of Monkey Island, and it's officially become my favourite video game company, after playing Sam & Max and Wallace and Gromit.
With Tales, I found the game got increasingly better, save for 2. I thought 2 was pretty weak, though a good episode nonetheless. Still waiting for my DVD now.
With Earl Boen revoicing Lechuck's lines for episode 1. Wooh!
