Request me a movie, I'll write a review!

Alright, Castiel you asked I watch Harry Potter: And The Goblet of Fire

Here's my review:

Ah, Harry Potter. One of my favorite movie series :griin:

What's the Goblet of Fire about then?

There's a famous boy named Harry Potter who goes to a wizarding school called Hogwarts and he is attending his fourth year there in this movie. Basically there is a wizard game going on called The Tri Wizard Tournament at Hogwarts this year where Hogwarts and 2 other schools compete for a cup. One student from each school will represent their school in the game. Harry finds himself whisked into this tournament. He finds himself fighting for his life and eternal glory wile something sinister is brewing in the shadows...

Alright, I'm going to go into this like someone who has A. Not read the books (even though I have) and B. Has (AT LEAST) seen the first, second, and third Harry Potter movies (Which I have :griin: )

The visuals throughout the movie are wonderful, you can't help but feel inspired by a lot of it... The special effects are also very cool, but why should you expect any less from a magical world?! You have a great cast of actors here as well, lines and expressions were fitting and deliberate, you can't help but feel many of their emotions, which is very good. This was a pretty dark movie as well, which is apparent from the beginning, but slowly it starts to grow!

You are able to figure out who done it before even Harry does, you just need to pay close attention (which is not that hard). I KNOW I wasn't going to compare this to the books, but I and everyone else wonders, would it have been too much to ask to let us watch that Quidditch game at the beginning??? There's also a lot of names and faces going about where you might feel lost at times. I almost feel the need to read the books (again) to keep up with a lot of things.

What did I rate this film?

I gave it a 79% out of 100%

If I were to rate it off of what the book was like?

I would give it 83% out of 100%

If you have seen/read the Harry Potter series you NEED to see this movie! It's one of my favorites in the series. A pity I had to rate it so low...

Alright, Shinra Executive I will get to your movie possibly tomorrow. :)

My request to you;

Kiss Kiss Bang Bang

This one is an unusual movie. It's Robert Downey Jr with Val Kilmer and Michelle Monaghan. I wasn't quite sure what to think of it and I'd like to see what you think O:

Okay, from a great movie to an even GREATER one!

The Room.

Seriously, this movie is to flim as My Immortal is to fanfiction. It's a bit graphic in the begining. Stick it out. It's fun to laugh at.

And if you can't, congrats; you have good taste. :dave:

The room is brilliant :lew:

Robogeisha. It's a Japanese film. I haven't seen it. But I saw the DVD in the shop the other day and it looks like an insane movie that is packed with non-stop calamities.

Bubba Ho-Tep.

I won't give my opinion of it as I don't want to influence your own reaction to it, and I won't reveal much about what it is about...

But I will reveal key words about what it contains:
Elvis
JFK
An old peoples home
A mummy.

Consider it sincerely.

RoboGeisha is one of the funniest movies I've ever seen!!! It is so ridiculous. It's a must watch if you want a laugh... though your ribs will be sore after the movie is over!

i really want to see the room. i've seen a couple of clips on youtube, and heard a lot about it and it looks so daft. apparently some cinemas (usually indie ones) occasionally do special showings of it that have all kinds of crazy rules that involve shouting at the screen and throwing spoons.

also i have to second dan's recommendation of bubba ho-tep. it's just full of bruce campbell goodness

I have to agree that you should review The Room sometime soon. It's so hilariously bad, and the flower shop scene gets me every time. It's like skipping past the text in an rpg xD

You're tearing me apart, Lisa!

Heat is good. Great cast as well. De Niro is fantastic in these sorts of films, as is Al Pacino. And Val Kilmer is a great actor in general, and he fits right in. :)

Grave of the Fireflies

Its a movie that really gets to you, I don't want to say anymore cause I don't want to give away anything, you should watch it if you haven't already.

I demand Mean Girls and Mean Girls 2! :mokken:

Now that I got the two you requested out of the way

I want
Ratatouille since you only want 1 :sad3:

But I am going request more later :mokken:

i risk sounding rather pretentious for suggesting three foreign films, but all three a excellent films.

waltz with bashir is an israeli documentary about the invasion of lebanon in the early 80s. it tells the stories of some of the surviving veterans of the war and how they've coped with what they saw. however the entire film is animated, which really helps drive your interest in the film and allows for some really good recreations and dramatisations of the soldier's memories.

paris je t'aime is a collection of short films, all about some sort of love story that take place in paris. there are a couple of big names in it - natalie portman, steve buscemi, elijah woods plus others - and the majority of the shorts are fantastic. there are one or two that i found boring, but they are few and far between and are more than made up for by the good ones. elijah woods' and natalie portman's in particular are great.

la jetée is another french short and is about a post-apocalyptic future after the third world war in the parisian underground. it involves a time travel as well, but the best thing about it is that the story is told entirely through narration and still images. it sounds strange, but it's like watching a fictional documentary
