Resident Evil Series

When Ashley has her armor on she is immune to any weapons I saw one of my friends shoot at her with the infinite rocket launcher and deal no damage or when you use the cannon to break into the castle still no damage she is like a tank immpossible to hurt and to pick up.

That sounds like it would be too easy. If Ashlee is untouchable and unkillable, it takes out one of the main objectives of the game. You no longer have to worry about keeping her alive, so you can totally ignore her and let her walk into trouble without consequence

Yeah you can leave her getting atacked by every monster in the game and she will always be full of health...not the same can be said about poor Leon!

I like to let them gang up on her and then throw a grenade into the middle of them and blow them up!:P

Resident Evil

Gee, didn't see a thread made for this horror-survival series. So here's one..!
So guys, what do you think about this series..? There's going to be a RE5 coming out for the PS3 starring Chris Redfield, brother to the female protagonist of RE2 and RE:Code Veronica, Claire Redfield.

-Threads Merged-

Yeah, can't wait for RE5, actually. I've only beaten one RE game so far, and that's Code Veronica. I've seen other people play RE4, and that's a very cool game - no doubt about it.

I wish I can play some more RE games, but to be honest, I am actually a chicken when it comes to horror games. I need to have someone with me while I play...otherwise, I would not play the game. (Except Parasite Eve I and II).

Resident Evil is awesome. I've played only a few of them like Nemessis, RE4 and Outbreak file #2 and they were great. And RE4 is the best action game out there...I still have it installed eventhough I've finished it like 6 months ago or something like that. I've played it so much that I've started to play only in close combat(meaning knife in the face/knee then kick/suplex) and I have some nice 130000+ scores in Mercenaries(180000 in the castle to be more precise :D). And Wesker is my favourite RE character...but hey....Ada is cool too(not to mention hot).

I have only played Resident Evil 1 and Resident Evil Code Veronica. I never managed to beat Resident Evil Code Veronica because I always ran out of bullets and get stuck at the same place as always. As for Resident Evil 1 I have beat it only once. It is one of my personal favorite game of the series because it has a great story and great characters. The other games that I like from this series are Resident Evil 2 and Resident Evil 4. They both contain one of the greatest main character from the series which is Leon. He is my personal favorite playable character of all times. As for the villain side Albert Wesker will be my top choice.

Oh man I love Resident Evil. First time I seen it was watching my brother play the original Resident Evil game in 1996. At the time it scared the crap out of me, so imagine my reaction to the remake on Game Cube which was ten times more scarier than the original O_O. Nowadays the original don't scare me because the graphics are out dated and I'm not a little kid anymore.

I played the original Resident Evil, Director's Cut, Resident Evil 2, Resident Evil Nemesis (Which scared me the most out of all the other Resident Evil games), Resident Evil Code Veronica X, Resident Evil Remake, Resident Evil 0, Resident Evil Out Break 1 and 2, Resident Evil Survivor and Resident Evil 4. Out of that list the only ones I down own is Survivor.

My favorite is 1, 2, 3 and CV. In the case of 1 I like both the original and the remake. I don't care much for the story of the newer games (4 and 5 for example).

I loved 2 and 3 more than the rest, i've played the remake of the original which was ok and both the light gun games which passed the time. Resident Evil 0 i felt was another good game even though Billy's tattoo was abit gay. As for the newer ones; 4 was fun for a single play through, it was still gritty and dark but there were no zombies just country bumpkins.
Resi 5 was abit of a let down after all that time waiting, sure it's fun to play through with your friends for a couple of times but it's too easy and it's too bright, i get they were trying to go with another direction but they failed. It was filled with too much action and NO horror, didn't even flinch once through out the game =/
On a side note the Resi 5 DLC Lost In Nightmares with Jill was a step in the right direction, more of a dark and moody tone bringing back the door opening cutscenes, just a shame it wasn't longer.
Outbreak 1 & 2 were ok games, fun to play and they expanded on Racoon City the only things wrong was the annoying AI which'd run off in the opposite direction and ignore you if you do something wrong, like your girlfriend on her period =0

I think overall i enjoy the games with the city and zombies alot more, the shanty towns and cruise ships just don't do it for me and i hope Capcom sort their stuff out.

I'm quite new to the Resident evil series, my first one was RE4 for the PS2 (which i later brought for the WII) I found the gameplay excellent and it was fun to play. A few of my friends say they were let down by 4 because of the fact their was less zombies so it was more of an action game then horror.

I love resi!
Played them since back in the days of psx! In fact I remember my first ever copy of Resident evil. It was damaged or something and it would infinitly run up the stairs in the mansion. Funny stuffs! But I had a working copy the day after ^_^
I loved 4! It was a lot less horror but i think the revamp in the series did it alot of good. 5 is absolutely immense. In fact I may purchase gold edition later on today ^_^

I bought Resident Evil 5 Gold Edition a year ago and It is a good game. This game has a various game modes that you could play which is great, but the game doesn't feel like a Resident Evil games at all. The only part that I like about Resident Evil 5 is the game mode where you get to play in the mansion again. I always enjoy playing this mode more than the story mode and the other modes. It is the best mode there is in my opinion. They made some changes to the mansion on this game but it still have the spooky feeling as the original Resident Evil: Director's Cut game.

To be honest I didn't like the idea of how they change the some of the game elements to a different level like changing from zombies to a parasite. That kind of ruin the game for me in my opinion. It just don't feel the same as before when playing the game. I prefer to play the old Resident Evil games because it is more fun and more original than the latest Resident Evil games. I think it would of be better if they kept the game as original as the old ones. It would've been more enjoyable than it is right now.

I like anything before 4 and 5. Respect to capcom for trying to do new things with the franchise but it just doesn't work for me, maybe for a new audience and a couple of other people who like that sort of thing but it's not for me. I don't like all the jumping around they did in the timeline, with CV we're nearing the end of 98 and all of a sudden we're in 2005 and Umbrella is closed down. I would have liked to play a game where it ended with Umbrealla's closing down and they could have kept it in 98 and come around to 99 in their timeline. They left a lot of questions unanswered too. I'm still wondering what happened to poor Steve and I was thinking the next game that took place after CV in the main series would have something to do with that T-Veronica virus Wesker was trying so hard to nab.

Aww man I was hoping this would be about the movies,, just so I could say that'd I've wanted to bang Milla Jonivich since The 5th Element.
Oh well..
!

Anyways, I only played the 1st two. Those were back in my Clocktower/Tomb Raider days.
Hmm, definitely just noticed something. What do all three of those games have in common? lol

I have played Resident Evil 1, 2, Outbreak Code #2, Umbrella Chronicles and 5.

My favourite is #5, I love that it is multiplayer. <3

I love Zombie games! <3 Even if I get scared sometimes. xD

:zombie:

I dislike the movies. 'Nuff said.

Capcom hints at going back to roots with Resident Evil 6

Capcom has told Rely on Horror that it is aware fans prefer the traditional, horror-suspense gameplay of past Resident Evil games and it is looking to bring it back.

Speaking with the site during E3, a Capcom representative agreed that fans preferred the more horror-driven game, instead of the action-oriented turn the series has taken, and that fans will like the direction the development team is focusing on for the next Resident Evil game.

“We know that alot of fans want more horror back for the next one, the development team knows that as well and we read a lot of comments, messageboards, and ask for feedback, and there was a lot of critisism about RE5′s focus on action,” said the rep.

“I think that you’ll like the direction the dev team is shifting for the next one.”

Although, this statement doesn’t give away much, it’s safe to assume he meant that RE 6 might be returning to the series’ roots.
