now shadow thought to himself. he jumped out of the shadows with his scythe swinging "EAT THIS CLOUD" shadow yelled swinging his scythe at cloud's head. when cloud raised his weapon to block, shadow let go of the scythe with one hand again and casted poison, then fire, at cloud in quick succession. he then jumped back so cloud couldn't counter.
 
Kayne blinked after the group had acted, thinking that they might have a chance.
Though, as his eyes opened only to peer into the mako touched eyes of Cloud.
Before he could act, Aloud had made his attack, Kayne fell to his knee as Cloud retreated.
Though, the attack did not stop, Kayne looked around himself, and some glowing signs where spiraling around him.
And they faded away after a few seconds.

Kayne got to his feet.
He quickly checked his pockets ,he had enough potions, thought only 2 soma left.
The baton dude, Sage, shouted to Him that he should not stop his advance, and that the others should keep him covered.
Even thought he did not like to be completely reliant of the otehrs, he would st least do as told.

HE looked at the orbs in his staff, and really wanted to use the Quake spell, though, he was not sure if it would bring down the whole cave.
So, he really only had one thing to do.
"Got it!" he replied to the attacking Sage.

A second after Sage got off Cloud, The scythe weirder, to minimize attacks on his team mates. He awaited untill he had withdrawn.

There, he jumped off, giving Kayne the opening he needed.
"Lightening - Bolt 1" he shouted a total of 3 times, sending 3 pure energy current into Clouds body, sorta grinning to himself, as this might be what is making his hair stand like it did.
After which he inhaled a soma, to make sure he was in for a another round.

An ethereal entity slowly emerged into existence as Tokugawa called it forth with a blaze of his summon Materia. The figure was drapped in a long black cloak, it's very form a skeletal frame of bone and sinew; minimal flesh remaining. At it's feet stood an iron cauldron which brewed a foul concotion of hatred and despair, pain and loss. Hades slowly turned to Cloud, outstretching a boned finger as the contents suddenly burst from it's container, striking Cloud with a dizzying infection.

Cloud momentarily staggered back under the combined assault of the new Avalanche members. They had almost reduced his lifespan by half in just a few rounds. No easy feat. He slowly smiled to himself, growing even more impressed by Shadow, Kayne, Tokugawa and Sage's resolve. However, the battle wasn't over just yet. Utilising the same technique that he had previously used on Kayne, Cloud launched himself forward...

Yuffie grimaced as Cloud's blade tore through Shadow's armour, and the last remaining life was forced out of him. Shadow staggered, falling to the ground of the Forbidden Caves. She turned to the remaining fighters.

"When a fellow player is knocked out during combat, they can be revived through the use of a Phoenix Down. Phoenix Down's however, can also be used in another form. Players can use a Phoenix Down at any time, in order to activate an Auto-Raise status onto themselves. This is very crucial when it comes to solo battles that you may get into in the future."
 
Yukio ran over to a rocky structure, giving his body some support as he leaned his back against it and loaded some more rounds into his Battle Rifle. This Cloud Strife was something else! Hades, spell upon spell, and round after round of wailing away at him with whatever weapons his team carried, the man only seemed to be somewhat affected. Hades had certainly given one eerie show earlier, filled with all of the ominous vibes in the world. Yukio cringed slightly at the thought, and tossed a hesitant glance in his Summon's direction. Well, Hades' status effects did prove certainly useful. While being poisoned, and with the inability to summon or cast magic, Cloud's time to be taken down was soon.

His azure eyes were yanked to the side as he watched Cloud steal away whatever life was left in that 'Shadow,' fellow. Yukio grimaced, and sighed with a hint of frustration. 'Shadow' had ample time to heal himself, or ask for someone else's assistance in doing so, yet he refused to. Now was the time for the three left standing to work as a real team, and insure one another's health and ability to fight. Cloud had attacked the Mage 'Kayne,' earlier, and as such, Yukio knew healing him would be a top priority. Tossing a glance over to the hot-head, he'd ask him for some assistance. "Hey, Kid. I didn't catch your name earlier, but...could you lend me a Soma? I'll pay you back for it."

Summoning Hades took quite a lot of Yukio, surprisingly. Yukio wouldn't be of too much use if he didn't get a Soma to energize himself. Hopefully his next action would make Sage a little more willing to help out the blonde pretty-boy. Turning his attention to Kayne, Yukio would call out to him, as his hand slipped into a pocket and retrieved a Potion. "Hey! Mage...! Look this way!" Once Yukio had his attention, he would unscrew the Potion bottle and toss it at Kayne, casting it on him so his wounds would heal.

Lifting up his rifle, Yukio would prop it against his shoulder, eye focusing through the scope, which was pointed in Cloud's direction. Two more shots where what Yukio could offer this round. Keeping it in 'Sniper Mode,' Yukio would take several concentrated breaths, steadying his nerves. Aiming for his arm had been a good idea earlier, and that's where Yukio would aim this time. The first shot was aimed at his shoulder, and once his line of sight met up with that shoulder, he would fire a shot. Pausing to recover from the jolt against his own shoulder from the rifle, he would take a few more deep breaths, and try again. This time he was aiming for his arm, but a little mid-way. Taking a deep breath, he'd hold it in, fire once more, and exhale.

The heavy blade sliced through Shadow's armor, slamming him into the ground and removing any remaining life force. Hades seemed to emerge in his place, making Shadow's last words prophetic. The dust plumes lifted showing the damaged and bruised warriors still remaining. Suddenly the guy in pressed white shouted for Sage's attention, bringing him back to the task at hand.

Sage pulled a Soma free from his pouch and launched it to Yukio. Then turned his attention to the blue blur of a combatant. He hoisted his weapon, swinging wildly into Cloud's abdomen then pulled the trigger on his stun baton. An electrical current surged through the leader. Quickly resuming his previous tactic, Sage thumbed a finger over his Materia, [Steal] pilfering whatever else he could find off his adversary.

His right fist quickly continued the combo jabbing violently into Clouds chin, dragging the electrical rod as it went. His left hand made a final attempt at theivery. All the action was starting to take a heavy toll on the youth and he found himself begging for luck.

'You better have a damn good plan, whitey,' he cajoled, 'That was my last pick-me-up!'

Cloud braced himself after the latest onslaught of attacks struck him hard, almost throwing him completely off balance. Though he had knocked out the new Avalanche member known as Shadow, and disabled Kayne's ability to lessen his fatigue between actions, their combined power was beginning to wear him down. Not only that, but the poison inflicted by the dark status summon Hades, continued to course through his veins, sapping his life-force.

It was time to unleash his hidden focus. Concentrating for a moment, Cloud began to twirl his blade in the air above his head. The sword whirled, going faster and faster until it became a mere blur that was hard to make out with the naked eye. All around him, the dust in the Forbidden Caves began to rise into the air, merging into a melee by Cloud's hand motions.

Suddenly, Cloud launched the storm into the new Avalanche members. They were all struck hard, the savage wind knocking them hard against the far wall of the caverns. When the wind died down, Cloud glanced towards them. His attack had decimated their life-force...

Kayne fell backwards due to the wind that Cloud unleashed.
He made himself to his feet, and looked around.

The others seemed sorta OK, all things considered.
Though, the scythe wielder, remained without motion.

"HEY!. You alive?" Kayne shouted towards Shadow.
He out his hand in his pocket, and out came a phoenix down.
He popped the bottle, and threw it at Shadow's silent body.
That should revive him.

Kayne then turned towards Cloud, Kayne had one soma left. And he intended to use it.
He looked around the cave. The odds of it standing after a quake, where a 50/50 chance. And not too smart a move.

He stepped forward, and cast 2 Thunder on Cloud. Then chugging a Soma.

He hoped that that did something.

IC: Shadow knew he was going to die, then he felt a weird uplifting. when the feeling passed, he saw the cavern floor around him, and he heard the guy who used thunder so often say "hey! you alive?" Shadow got up from the ground and shouted back "yeah, thanks a ton, i owe you one" then Shadow turned is attention to Cloud. The stupid lowlife had killed him! "now i'm pissed" Shadow muttered as he used a phoenix down on himself for auto-life. then he raised his hand and yelled at Cloud "OI SPIKY OVER HERE!" as Cloud turned towards his voice Shadow shouted "YEAH YOU FEEL MY ANGER! BUUUUURRRNN" Shadow screamed at him as he cast fire at Cloud.

It should have held her attention, a fierce combat training scenario between Cloud and the new Avalanche members, however, Yuffie's attention was firmly fixated on the form of Tokugawa Yukio. Ever since he had first arrived, there had been a faint tug of recognition deep within Yuffie's memories, and yet, she simply could not place him. The way his expensive clothing fit him so perfectly, as if tailored and measured just for him, the way he stood within his combat stance firing his custom battle rifle - oozing confidence that verged on pure arrogance - and his very features which were, she had to admit, striking. It was then that the pieces of the puzzle suddenly clicked into place, and Yuffie opened her mouth wide in recognition.

"Y-Yuki?!"

The memories came flooding back. Ever since she was young, Yuffie had grown with a fierce hatred for Shinra and everything that they had taken from Wutai. She had made it her crusade to restore Wutai in any way that she could. She became a ninja, mistress of the shadows, stealing and fighting for the benefit of Wutai. But back then, so very young, she wasn't even allowed out after dark, or even the village at any time. So, she did the only thing that she could ... she started to pilfer from local business.

Of course, it wasn't just any business that she would do this to. Just those wealthy business, with too much money on their hands, who could do with being taxed more in order to restore Wutai's greatness. And there was one particular shop that Yuffie tended to steal from the most. Inside was a handsome young boy with an arrogant smirk and outlandish clothing. The two did not get on from the start. Yuffie refused to acknowledge his real name, deciding to give him the nickname 'Yuki' and he had a few choice words for her upbringing and 'talents'.

Because, back then, she was far from the expert ninja that she was today.

She was caught every single time she attempted to steal from them, and Yukio's mother made sure that she got a very public humiliation on every occasion. Though they were always at each other's throats, Yuffie came to value the strange argumentative relationship that they had. All the other kids were older than them, and drafted in to the war with Shinra. Then came the day when her father took her in, and began to seriously train her within the secret walls of the Pagoda. As she trained, Yuffie got stronger and smarter, and left Wutai on her own secret missions, but she also saw less and less of Yukio, until eventually she never even saw him again, and didn't know what had happened to him...

The sudden revival of Shadow and a renewed attack by Kayne brought Yuffie out of her reverie. She turned just as Cloud slowly smiled at the assembled group of Avalanche members. He reached out with his free hand, suddenly grabbing hold of a second blade from out of it's sheeth, and pulled it free. He now held two swords, one in each hand.

Yuffie slowly shook her head, knowing that the group were done for unless they could defeat Cloud before he drew the remaining three blades. However, she could also see that Cloud was growing a little fatigued by the constant onslaught of attacks. One way or the other, this battle was going to end real soon...

"OH NO YOU DON'T!" Shadow roared, recognizing the beginnings of Cloud's omnislash. "THIS ENDS NOW!" Shadow yelled raising his scythe. "SHADOW ORB!" Shadow yelled, and an orb of shadow came forth from his scythe and went straight for Cloud.
 
As Alexander approached the rocky entrance to Cosmo Canyon he took in a deep breath, this could be his new hope for a while, new adventures would take place that would excite the mind of any mind to consider the fame and the strength that could be aquired though this sort of endevour. He walked inside and immediately looked around the area, to his left was an entrance to a cave and to his right were a variety of buildings, most likely these were residences of the civilians as well as shops and inns for a warrior's use. At this moment in time he did not feel the need to aquire any items for his inventory and instead decided to raise his gil for the sweeter prizes that lay in wait. Taking the path to the left he approached the cave, preparing himself for battle he entered, leaving his right hand resting against his blade for any instance he would require it.

"Hmm, so this must be the place..." Alexander announced to himself upon seeing an odd contraption near an opened hole in the wall, he then wandered inside. Eying a rope he began his descent, hearing the clashes of battle he grabbed the hilt of his sword, ready to unsheathe it the second he landed.
 
jumping from the last tree of the forest Fayd stood up straight and ran towards the cosmo canyon. 'something isnt right in the world' Fayd thought as he approached the canyon 'maybe looking to the candle will help me make sense of it all' as he walked up the steps leading to the entrance. He was headed toward the warming glow of the flames. However before he could get there he heard the clash of metal on metal.

'maybe later flames can help. until then...' Fayd thought with a smirk as, drawing courflamme, he turned to the epicentre of the noise. Wielding his newly drawn weapon he ran into the cave and began to climb up. unsure of what he would see as he jumped up into the shadows of the room above, where the noises were coming from...
 
Tossing a smile to the electric-rod wielding kid, Yukio would snatch up the Soma that was cast upon him. He took a deep breath, exhaling in a chilled sort of manner, as tiny electric shocks ran up and down his spine...signifying the energy-restorative abilities of the Soma. Now was the time for him to jump back in the game, and give Cloud Strife a painful piece of his mind. Readying his battle rifle, he would prop it against his shoulder, only to feel a gripping fear tug upon his nerves. The spiky-haired wonder-boy was readying some sort of attack, and Yukio knew that whatever it was, it was going to hurt like hell.

Quickly, he'd run toward the sanctuary of the nearing rocky-wall, cerulean-eyes focused upon the Ex-SOLDIER before him. Where Yukio was hiding, was behind a rocky wall, that had a 'window' within it, due to a space between the rocks. Through this he watched him, like a man watching a train wreck about to happen. Something told Yukio that he should be getting further away, and that his feeble attempt at defending himself would not be nearly enough. Blue eyes shot as wide as saucers as the attack was finally unleashed, sending a shockwave of wind towards them all.

Unfortunately for Yukio, his decision to hide behind that wall would cause even more damage to himself. As the monstrous winds came forward, they would curve around that wall he was hiding behind, grabbing him like a rag-doll and smashing him against the wall to the far right. The side of his head was what collided with the rugged surface, tearing flesh and drawing blood. Yukio slumped against the wall, dazed by the pain and the shock of his head slamming into the wall. He removed his right glove, and held it in his left, raising his ungloved hand to his forehead. Fingertips brushed hesitantly over the dampened skin, going further to disturb those golden tresses. When he brought his hand before his eyes, his eyes widened once more at what he saw...his hand covered with crimson liquid.

Groaning, he'd shove his clean glove into a pocket, and using his bloodied hand, help himself up to a standing position. He grunted as he wavered, stumbling slightly to the side. For now, he remained obscured by that wall, but as he staggered toward the others, he'd eventually be visible to them...and what a bloody mess he was! Blood was dripping down the side of his head, and his hair glimmered with unnatural scarlet streaks. From the way he was walking, one could tell that his head-injury had caused some serious damage to him, and as such...his life force was at a minimum. He'd slump forward slightly, only to be jolted, and forced back to a straight posture. There was always some invisible force within Yukio that would never allow him to appear weak and vulnerable, but always as the strong, confident man he was. But in this instance, that 'invisible force' belonged to Yuffie, for when she shouted out Yukio's childhood nick-name, he was startled back into clarity.

Collecting himself, he'd shove his ungloved hand in his pocket, glancing groggily at his comrades, who had also taken a similar hit. He couldn't heal them all, but he'd heal who he could. First he would unscrew one Potion, and would manage to toss it to Sage. Another potion was taken out, and the action would be repeated to Kayne. A third potion would be removed, finally, for himself. He would unscrew the cap, and would lift it above his head, glancing up and pouring the contents of the vial onto his head. The healing liquid would serve it's purpose, sucking up the spilled blood and returning it to the inside of his body, while the torn flesh was sewn back into place. The healing sensation felt from Potions was something that always calmed Yukio. The blood was gone, and, despite the damp hair, Yukio once again, appeared as immaculate as ever.

Turning his attention to Cloud, he'd shoot him a glare of icy daggers, drawing out his battle rifle, and readying to return the favor to Cloud. "Now we'll see how you like it!" After Yukio finished yelling, he'd look through the scope, aiming it at Cloud's head. Taking a deep breath, he'd exhale, pulling the trigger once to fire a shot, projected for Cloud's head. Afterwards, Yukio would refocus, and fire one last shot, still aiming for his head. Yukio was hellbent on payback.

watching the carnage ensue he was glad he had hidden himself straight away in the shadows. he felt the edges of a wind attack lap at his hair and clothes... luckily he was far back enough to escape the damaging effects of the attack. even though he shouldnt have he could'nt help but smirk at the damage he saw in front of him still unsure if he should join in or not he stayed in the shadows. 'It doesnt seem like some like anyone saw me' Fayd thought to himself ' i could leave without anyone knowing' deciding that he would watch for a few moments more, he saw the man with the rifle pass potions to his hurt teammates and himself. Fayd decided that he would watch the rest of the battle and see if he needed to join in.
He was snapped from his thoughts as he heard a rifle cock. Fayd flinched slightly twice as the shots were fired. he had never been this close to a rifle before and the sound shocked him slightly.

Alexander had reached the ground now, unsheathing his sword he began to slowly approach the origin of the battle which was taking place nearby. Holding his sword in a tight grip he defensively crossed it over the front of his body diagonally. Eventually he came to the area where the battle was taking place, a lone swordsman was holding off numerous attackers, he was wielding an abnormally huge single-edged greatsword, could this be the leader of AVALANCHE? The other attackers seemed to be slowly wearing him down... Maybe these were new recruits being tested? Holding his bladeforward with the tip of the sword facing Cloud he stepped forward. "Cloud Strife I presume?"

Alexander let his blade lower itself till the tip reached the floor, before speaking again. "I presume I can join in?" Readying himself for a surprise attack he held his blade, ready to raise it at a moment's notice. "I am Alexander Kouss, one of your new recruits of AVALANCHE. I am prepared to better myself no matter what the odds".
 
Kayne looked at Cloud, he had drawn his other blade, yet he had more where they came from.
In the corner of his eye, and incoming item where on the way. A potion came from the outstretched hand of the Gun user.
He let the potion empty its contents on himself, feeling the revitalizing effects of it working.
He felt much better, though his mental state somewhat lowered as he again realized that Cloud would end them if they did not take him out.

Suddenly a new person entered, he was wielding a sword.
Kayne realized that any help at this point, would be good help.
Thought not do much unless they took Cloud down.

He stretched out his staff and the materia of the Lightning element started to glow.
From above Cloud, came a blue streak of energy, sending a lightning formed shock down towards Clouds body.
He repeated this action 1 more time.
And started to think. His finger gliding across the earth materia.

He decided to take the chance, if it was focused at Cloud's location, it should cause most, of not all, damage to happen to him.

"Every one, Get away from Cloud!" He shouted in command, to make sure that his team mates did not take that much damage, preferably none.

Cloud faltered, driving a single blade down into the ground beneath his feet for support, the other held defensively before him. His chest beat hard against the confines of his chest as he attempted to control his harsh breathing. He managed a small smile at the sight of Hades continuing to conjure status ailments at him from behind the scenes. Summons had always been very powerful - the stronger they became, the more commands they'd gain, and the more they'd be able to attack in a single battle.

"Cloud Strife I presume?" He turned, glancing at the newcomer. "I presume I can join in? I am Alexander Kouss, one of your new recruits of AVALANCHE. I am prepared to better myself no matter what the odds."

Yuffie turned as he spoke, her eyes drawing away to the far side of the caverns. She could not help but get the feeling like she was being watched. She narrowed her vision, attempting to make out defined shapes within the shadows, yet nothing could be seen. She slowly shook her head. The old caverns were full of undead and the restless souls of the Gi. Such a feeling was not misplaced.

Rising to his feet, Cloud withdrew the blade that he had forced into the ground. "The more the merrier, if you think you can handle it." He gripped his weapons even tighter as the last words left his lips. "I have to push them ... I need to know to their limits." He thought.

Fatigue racked the youthful warriors body, pinning him to the earth and strapping him with a dull heap of beaten mass. Phantom aches singed the synapses in his brain, the last assault from Cloud had started to take a heavy toll on Sage. The edges of his vision began to blur leaving haloed rings around the ominous cavern. A crisp buzzing sounded through his ears deafening him to the cries and pleas of his would-be comrades.

Suddenly, a shadowed object veered into his failing vision and instinctively Sage hoisted a hand to catch the object. His left hand returned from the shadowed place to reveal a potion, compliments of Yukio, in his grasp. His eyes widened at the thought, more a flinch of disgust then surprise.

'Turnabout's fair play, eh white knight?' he muttered. He glanced down to see the vial in his grasp when he noticed a dark red bead of blood drip from off his chin and splash against his shirt. The blurs at the edge of his vision suddenly made sense to the fallen fighter. Sage was covered in his own blood.

Cautiously he drained the contents of the vial and slumped back into a corner. Though healed, he was far too weak to continue. It would seem this was for the better, as the mage who called himself Kayne shouted for everyone to stay clear of Cloud.

Sage was more then happy to oblige, opting to rest just long enough to get his footing back.

Seeing Cloud weakening thanks to the battle that had been taking fold even before his arrival, it was clear he would soon be defeated. "Well, shame it won't be a full fight, but it may as well be ended now..." Alexander lifted his blade from the ground and pointed it at Cloud, he then began to approach at a slow walk. As the effects of numerous spells took hold his speed meant he avoided any damage, being out of their affect range. "Well Cloud, lets go!" Alexander rushed forth with his sword in both hands diagonally in front of him, as he got in close enough he delivered a right to left lower diagonal slash, with his sword facing upwards he then delivered an additional strike down onto Cloud before performing a slight jump back to avoid any counters.

Fading fast, Cloud attempted a side-arching swing that only ended up in cutting through nothing but empty air, his intended target - Alexander - having already dashed back in order to avoid any potential damaging counters. Clutching his chest where the slash had cut deep, Cloud's grip on his blades began to slip, and his vision was dangerously bluring. The combined effort by the new members of Avalanche was more than taking it's toll.

He hesitated, knowing that if he even acted, Hades' status effect would finish him off. All he could do was await the inevitable that was to come...
