Road Trip.

"So...where are we headed?"

There was a reason why Clyuue specified Zephyr Carriages. It was trust worthy. It was run by affiliates of the guild and caters to all range of people from the filthy rich to the average joe. Of course, the carriages differ from the class of its passenger, but one thing is the same is that the coachman hears all. It is, in fact, a very efficient information network. Members of Genesis could afford to speak somewhat freely without risk of being exposed.

A certain cheap fool slash friend seems to require some assistance. So we are heading to the guild to assist. After all, it does seem somewhat important, so i figured out that one or two rather ranked warriors might make things run more smoother.

She paused for several seconds, watching the scenery outside the lacquered wooden door and glass windows fly by, catching glimpse of Orcs here and there.

And, from the whispers of my little Teyjats (birds), you have been quite busy recently. Some of Vadoks Orcs seem rather riled up tonight looking for a feline being. Figured you wouldnt want to be accosted for just being Felidian. Plus, a road trip would be nice, especially in a class carriage. Its spacious and padded out so feel free to rest. It will take us until morning to arrive.

From the recess of the door, Clyuue pulled out a glass and poured herself from her hip flask three fingers of Cheytan Spice. The smell of spice gave the young general a wave nostalgia, reminding her of her homeland.

How Convenient of Him

A certain cheap fool slash friend seems to require some assistance. So we are heading to the guild to assist. After all, it does seem somewhat important, so i figured out that one or two rather ranked warriors might make things run more smoother.

Main Droite, of course...why not? She knew the man, Number One in Genesis, a member of around ten years or so. Cocky bastard he was, although Droite would be quick to deny, but cocky or not, his skill was not one to be underestimated, lest they would rather end up dead.

"Of course..." The Felidian said, "Guess he believes that should be reason enough." Elvire was quiet about that matter, let them assist in the matter and see how that will benefit in the long run from there.

Then there was that. It was a hassle that Vadok's Orcs nearly cleaved her leg off and backed her to a corner on more than one occasion. The fact that his orcs were now after her meant it was probably not safe to be walking around in her armor. Finally removing the helmet, Elvire wiped the sweat off her brow, her blue hair dangling in places due to her helmet that she wore all day.

"Can't imagine why..." Elvire said in a sarcastic tone, with all the stuff that happened she had enough reason to be.

"Main Droite" aka MD

The night went by uneventfully. Having slept soundly, MD was fresh and in high spirits as he exited his room for the Guild's Mess Hall.

"Here's ya food, ya cheap idiot!"

MD laughed heartily as the other mercenaries shuffled about with bemused expressions. They rarely seen their leader acting in this manner so for many, this was an introduction to another side of their leader. MD, on the other hand, has already seen this more than enough. Still, it never failed to force at least a chuckle out of him. "Don't worry, man! I'll leave as soon as food is done," said the warrior as he gobbled on his breakfast. The Guild Leader shakes his head at MD's distinct lack of table manners and left him to his meal.

It is morning, and Main Droite is about to leave as soon as his breakfast is done.

A Mystical Blade
A drunk patron laments the loss of his friends who ventured with him into the Cursed Forests east of Fantasia. He swears at the rumors suggesting at the magic-defying nature of the blade he calls "Defiance".

If interested, it seems the Cursed Forests east of Fantasia is the place to search. It is possible to approach the patron for more information if he weren't so drunk.

Pet... Dragon?
A self-proclaimed beast tamer is boasting about how he subdued a dragon. He claims the beast has now submitted to his control and is willing to do his bidding.

Dragons are known to be ferociously powerful creatures due to their ability to use magic besides their fire-breathing and razor sharp claws.

Red Dragonglass Mine
A businessman appears to be arguing with a miner about a red dragonglass mine recently discovered outside Fantasia. The miner claims there are far too many ferocious beasts within and is requesting a strong squad of warriors. The businessman is simply unwilling to spend any more money and demands the miner fulfills his end of the bargain.

Red Dragonglass is known to be extremely expensive for it's aesthetic beauty and resistance to magic. Procuring this supply of the gemstone will definitely be a profitable source of income to any faction (or individual).

Into the Boonies.

It had really taken them the rest of the night to travel out to the Mercenary Guild. Clyuue sat rather straight backed, but her head was tipped forward slightly. Her soft, rhythmic breathing meant that she was asleep. Her folded ears was another sign. As the coachman eased the carriage from the hard packed dirt road onto the pavings, the slight jolt also woke Clyuue. Early sunlight streamed into the cabin and with a lethargic hand, she shielded her eye from the bright assault. When it subsided and Clyuue could actually keep her eyes open, the buildings have changed and the scenery has gone from city like to, for a lack of better words, into the sticks. To be fair, it wasn't far out from the city by a large degree, but Clyuue was had always been rather harsh

Ma'am. We are pulling up to the building.

Thank you my man. Charge excess to my house.

Without even waiting for the carriage to completely come to a stop, Clyuue got to her feet, opened the door and gingerly stepped into the cobblestone with a slight chink of metal meeting stone. Elvire can come out at her own speed. The driver was in no hurry, but Clyuue wanted to get started. With large strides, she strolled up straight to the doorway and swung the wooden door open. Eyes inside drew to the door frame, eying at who had just entered. As they recognise on of the current rank three, several gave a nod of respectful acknowledgement while others kind of nodded their head whilst shuffling back when she stepped forward. No one likes dealing with nobility and Clyuue was a high born at that. Why would someone that influential join them? It was somewhat intimidating and suffocating when conversing with the Lady. On one hand, she should just be another member, albeit rather strong. On the other it didn't negate who she really is. As a result, many of the mercenaries are conflicted on how to act. Treat her like another member or not? Clyuue didn't really care too much as long as they don't disrespect her and they pull their weight. After a second of scanning, she spotted Main Droite, scoffing down his breakfast. She quickly stepped up to the table and dropped herself into the seat opposite of him. Leg crossed over and fingers interlaced, she leaned forward with a jovial smirk

Morning. A little bird told me some cheap fool needed some assistance?

Elvire awoke to find Clyuue gone and the carriage parked by the front of the building. Taking her helmet in hand she exited the carriage and turned to the boy whom she had to pay, but the boy said, "Do not worry, your friend will cover the cost."

"Many thanks."
She did a courtesy bow before walking into the mercenary's guild building. The mercenaries didn't pay her much mind, many of them were looking at Clyuue as she walked up to Droite. Rather than walk up to talk directly to the two of them, she was going to stay back and use her supernatural hearing to listen in on their conversation.

"Main Droite" aka MD

MD was already finishing up when his fellow Genesis member appeared so instead of greeting her as he probably should, he focused on his food. Hopefully, that would have an annoying effect. Clyuue, by his knowledge, was a rather wealthy and high-ranking Cheytan outside of the organization. It naturally followed that his habit of amusing himself by annoying high-ranking people applied to Clyuue as well. Still, it would be plain rude to ignore what she said.

He wiped his mouth with the table cloth and looked up at the girl. "Hm. Good choice of word. Assistance. I like it. So, you'll be my private assistant for this mission?" MD laughed heartily at his idea of a joke. The mercenaries continued staring, both at the man and his companion. Smiling at the beautiful Cheytan, MD noticed another member in the background.

"Well, unfortunately, we do not have the luxury of time," said MD as he jogged over to another table to snatch a large loaf of bread. His actions were not well received but no one did anything else but scowl at the man. He beckoned his fellow Genesis members over as he proceeded to exit Guild. On exiting, he began explaining," We're here to find out Enigma's weakness. Right now, our only lead is the other founding member of Final."

Tearing the loaf of bread into half, he turned and passed one to both members. "One for you, irritatingly-long-named-girl and you-whose-name-I'm-sorry-I-forgot..."

Dori - A bloody dwarf
-------------------------------------------------------------------------

The sun was up, leaves were quivering at the slightest touch of wind and birds were giggling in their own fashion. There were many a tree around and plenty of small animals doing their everyday deeds. So all in all, everything was as it most often was. In harmony. But soon enough something or more like someone appeared from between two rather huge trees. As he came closer to the mercenary tavern, the red haired dwarf heard a loud gasp. He gave a look to his left only to see a carriage just about to leave the place. The driver's eyes reflected what Dori was afraid of.

" I must look like crap .... " Dori grinned and mumbled something else while setting the course straight to the buildings main door. As he opened the door, a familiar figure appeared in front of him, almost stumbling on him. He knew he was going to meet Main Droite if he chose to come here, therefore he had prepared a little present.

" Main droite, who is rather maladroit. Some say he is adroit. I say he is just devoid." These rather offensive lines for some were sung with one the most beautiful voices a dwarf could ever manage to summon. In addition to that, the melody line of both the singing and the harmony played on the lute were so elegant and fine that had the words been a bit more friendly, everyone might have joined in to sing along. The dwarf, a recent drinking friend of main droite, grinned with his cheeks high up. He was about to say hello to a guy who had once or twice outdrunk him when a deep cough came up. Blood spurt out from his mouth, covering quite a portion of the bottom door frame. Only now did he realise how he must have looked.
His clothes were half burnt and the other half was soaked with blood. He had a rather serious looking fresh cut going along all of his face and his broken nose looked as bad as it could look. Grim news for a bard really.

" Shall we get going then? I got some information you might consider listening to ...." Dori stopped for a deep breath, turned around and started picking some cheytan melody on the lute.

" Vadok and Merchants of AO battled the whole night ... for a dragonglass mine ... but not just in the mines but also in the city. You see" He was pointing at his wound.

" This was done to me within the city when Vadoks drow assassins were trying to eliminate me ... These very assassins had slaughtered more than twenty of Ao's guards and merchants by the time I left the city. Singing birds said that at least a hundred bodies were found outside or within the mine." The melody on his lute got more and more intense as he prepared himself for the next words.

" Vadok got the mine ... but. But Ao got all the already mined dragonglass." As he looked back, he saw the felidian in addition to the cheytan.

" Ohay ther"

OOC: Oh man I was being a slacker and not posting. I will do a post about the battle of Vadok and Ao sooner or later. Will be a very long post :D

Oh and is it alright that I wrote that Dori has been a recent drinking buddy of main droite? I can change it if necessary.

Straight to business.

"Hm. Good choice of word. Assistance. I like it. So, you'll be my private assistant for this mission?"

Hm.... which word? The cheap or the fool? Or perhaps both? As for private assistance, i can offer the swish swish stab kind at an affordable rate, but anything else.... well, i'm afraid i am out of your pay rate.

Clyuue gave a coy wink as a joke. It did not do any good being overly stiff all the time. Only when it counts or in front of subordinates. Whatever the case, Clyuue leaned back and flicked her hair over her shoulder, returning to being more business like, resting both hands on her lap. Main Droite had just finished his meal and probably meant they were going to get a move on. Following him as he got up and swiped a bun, Clyuue kept up behind him.

"Well, unfortunately, we do not have the luxury of time. We're here to find out Enigma's weakness. Right now, our only lead is the other founding member of Final."

From the stolen loaf, he split it into half and handed a piece to herself and the now present Elvire.

"One for you, irritatingly-long-named-girl and you-whose-name-I'm-sorry-I-forgot..."

Ha! Very witty. Enough so that i forgot to laugh and had to make do with a sarcastic one.

Still, Clyuue took the offered bread and began chewing on the food. All she had was the drink from last night sloshing in an empty stomach, compounded with poor rest. It wasn't the best, but it would do for now.

So we track him and politely ask him for some information?

" Ohay ther"

Clyuue turned to see the dwarf and was on the verge of greeting him when she remembered that he doesnt know who she is. She may have been found out as a female when in her Dragon Lord Armour, but she was caked in blood, which masked her scent. Her wipe down at the hands of her hand maidens and her pristine Divine Emissary Armour meant that not a trace of the night lingered on her. Seeing as that is the case, then there was no reason to reveal their acquaintance, even though she is in his debt.

Dear Sir. You do appear somewhat worse for wear.

Turning to the other two, she continued.

He greeted us, yet i do not recall his face. An acquaintance of either of you perhaps?

"Well, unfortunately, we do not have the luxury of time. We're here to find out Enigma's weakness. Right now, our only lead is the other founding member of Final."

"The other founder..." Elvire only heard rumors, but nothing had ever been confirmed of the existence of the co-founder of Final. Knowing what the situation called, she was certain that there would be a battle.

Her thoughts were broken when Clyuue and MD came towards her.

"One for you, irritatingly-long-named-girl and you-whose-name-I'm-sorry-I-forgot..."

Elvire said in a sarcastic tone, taking the bread he had offered. On the way out she saw a dwarf, one she had not seen before.

Elvire shook her head "No, this is the first time I've seen him before." She said calmly, "But I suppose that if Vadok is keeping busy, then that would take care of one threat, am I correct?"

"Dear Sir. You do appear somewhat worse for wear."

Turning to the direction at which Clyuue was looking, MD couldn't help but smile.

He greeted us, yet i do not recall his face. An acquaintance of either of you perhaps?

"No, this is the first time I've seen him before."

"Why, it's good ole' Dori," exclaimed MD as he noticed the dwarf approach. Yet, the lightened mood afforded by the casual conversation vanished in an instant as MD took a quick survey of the dwarf's state of dressing. Clearly, Vadok was more than just a powerful coward in his most recent battle, judging by the bard's appearance.

And as much as MD tried to resist, he couldn't help but remark wryly,"Hey, Dori. You look real good in your new clothes!" But almost as soon as he said that, his expression hardened. "It would be good if I can continue laughing at your wonderful new clothing." He giggled as he spoke breaking the serious mood for a split second. "Unfortunately, we are really running out of time. We have to find Reles as soon as we can."

Then, in an uncharacteristically serious fashion, MD moved on ahead without waiting for the group.

Dori - As witty as always
-------------------------------------------------------------------

As Dori noticed the sudden mood change of his pal, it came to him that things must be rather serious. While being a little serious would probably help MD to get more women, personally he did not like him being anything else then cheerful and bity. After all, they had become friends in the first place by trying to outdo each-other by witty remarks. And after that by outdrinking each-other.

" Droite, I follow the latest fashion. Blood and sweat is a big hit with women. I do believe that even these two beautiful and noble ladies felt butterflies when they saw me and my new style." As he said that, he wiped some blood off his face and grinned. As he did, the wound opened up a little and more fresh blood run down his cheek. He picked the strings of his lute and some kind of magical aura formed on top the wound, almost completely stopping the bleeding.

" You at the same time look like an ugly and spoilt brat who's never seen battle. No girl will ever want you like that, that I guarantee to you kid." Dori couldn't stop smiling even when his wound hurt like hell whenever he moved just one of his thousands of facial muscles. It was obvious that he was very pleased to see MD, after all they hadn't met each-other for a good month by now.

" Me ladies, I give my sincerest apologies for my choice of words with MD, but it just happens to be that we show our love by beating each-other." He giggled in an awkward dwarven way and followed Droite.

" So what's the story with the co-creator? I was positive he was finished off even before they made the king a puppet."

OOC: Sorries for short post, I'm in a lecture right now and have to listen a bit =D

MD barely managed to contain himself in his seriousness. He thoroughly enjoyed letting loose his restraint on his jolliness when around Dori, but this was hardly the time for that. "Reles, Enigma, and another founder began as infamous criminals. Reles, for his assassinations. Enigma for his theft and the other founder for a crime syndicate - I can't remember his name right now." MD persisted in his hasty pace as he spoke. "They came together later on out of mutual interest in an idea to create a massive syndicate and proposed the idea to the other founder who accepted it. Got together. Created Final."

MD's right hand tingled with anticipation. "They must be up ahead. In any case, Reles later killed the other founder and set Enigma up as leader. Then Reles vanished. Not the best clue we have, but it's better than nothing."

[OOC: No worries. Although I hoped for the RP to end sometime in early April... I suppose the second week of April isn't too bad...? Still, we have to hurry. Briefing.

This mission was becoming more and more interesting. If the founders of Final was concerned, then this was going to be one heck of a ride. Main Droite had more than enough reason to be serious about this. Their position was the real deal and if Main Droite was going to personally lead, then it was best to take this seriously from the start. Following after Number One, Clyuue kept her ear open on the dialogue between the Leader and the dwarf. It seems the two have some form of history, but she was still unsure as to whether it was wise to let someone who isnt a member into such an important mission. Whatever the case, that was up to Main Droite to decide.

This is one cold trail if i ever saw one. Final has been in notion for a long time and if Reles disappeared at its beginning, for all we know, he could have died, or even worse, be alive and went deep underground. If it is urgent, then this is even worse. I assume you have SOME sort of plan besides going door to door knocking.

"Well, don't worry about that. I didn't call for help with a wild goose chase. I pretty much have a clear idea about where Reles might be."

Still walking, MD turned to face the group as he gestured to the mountain behind him. "Red Mountain." He smiles as he turned to face the direction he was walking towards. "You might want to keep an eye around for suspicious characters though. I'm sure Final will have some thugs making quite a fuss here." The Red Mountain, so-called for the reddish soil that filled the mountain, was a renowned tourist spot at one point until the Mercenary Guild laid roots nearby. Since then, the location had made way for less than desirable characters such as the one the group were about to encounter.

The group's progression towards the mountain was uneventful. That is, until they approached foot of the mountain...

Dori - the Loremaster
-------------------------------------------------------------

The walk had been rather uneventful and would have been as boring if it hadn't been for Dori. Singing songs and telling stories from lands far away, he was positive that all three enjoyed them. For MD's sake he spoke of funny mishappenings in Fantasia, how their common mates had woken up miles away from the city with some huge fatty farm girls after drinking in an inn. For the Cheytan lady Dori had spread the stories of famous Cheytans and noble knights from far away lands. To the third of their party, the dragoon, stories of dragons, famous thieves, rogues and tricksters seemed appropriate. In addition to wide knowledge of the history and lore of the nearby and faraway lands, Dori was excellent at adding fitting melodies and harmonies on his lute.

" oh ... we are here." Mumbled the red-haired dwarf as he turned his look away from the lute. For a moment he grinned at the duo in front of it. But that grin was gone as soon as he realized who they were.

" MD ... You do know who they are?" Dori started picking his lute at faster pace. After every bar of the song, more and more magical aura started to surround him until he was almost completely invisible.

" I can't fight with swords, but I can enhance your powers with my songs, shall you require so."

"Heh, that's a first." Elvire smirked as she thought to herself, the travel wasn't as long, but then she was used to traveling great distances by now. The fact that the dwarven bard was traveling with them made her feel at ease.

" oh ... we are here."

"Red Mountain. You might want to keep an eye around for suspicious characters though. I'm sure Final will have some thugs making quite a fuss here."

As Elvire looked up at the tall reddish mountain she would see how steep the climb is. Any fool would just fall off and be crushed under a pile of rocks. With Final on top of them as well it might prove a challenge, but mountaintop combat is something that she has excelled in.

"Alright, so I assume that Reles would be at the very top of the mountain, am I correct?"

Trouble trouble in the double.

Clyuue of course, did not expect this mission to be a cake walk. She knew there was going to be plenty of action, cracking heads and some very heated combat, but THIS straight off the gun was a bit too hot. These two were going to be a pain to handle.

" I can't fight with swords, but I can enhance your powers with my songs, shall you require so."

If its swords you need, myself and dear Elvire over there have that covered.... but against these two... just us two will be pushing it a bit.

Regardless, Clyuue, ever so proud, planted herself squarely facing her potential opponents, one hand on the hilt of her beloved Gremory. While on the outside she appeared calm and untroubled, Clyuue's arm was on a hairline switch. The slightest sign will set her off into full combat mode. She was ready. All thats left is to see how Main Droite will react.

No doubt the two ranked members of Genesis were no pushovers, but the two foes before the group were quite possibly way above their level of skill. Even Main Droite himself would hesitate to engage this duo in battle. Unfortunately, the circumstances disallowed such indecision. The billowing smoke from the cottage twisted and turned almost as if to imply the complication of the situation.

"Well, who knows. These two are the ones we have to follow... And it does seem like this cottage is our destination."

The burning cottage was not the most encouraging of sight. The flames raged on so fiercely that even the group can feel its wrath. "In any case, taking on these two is priority. Reles can handle himself, or we can figure something out later." MD stared at the two who had by now noticed their presence. The duo walked in perfect synchrony. Every precise step and every breath they drew, it was all in tandem with the other.

"Who might they be?"

"Enemies, I'm sure."

The red-haired woman looked to the black-haired man, eyebrow raised. "The Leader won't like us delaying ourselves with this bunch," she said, eying the group with contempt. "And Reles isn't going to make our jobs any easier."

MD allowed himself an inward cheer. "Okay," He whispered to the group. "Dori, maybe you could sneak around those two to look for Reles further up. We could hold off these two while you find out Enigma's weakness from Reles."

Edging towards the two female warriors, MD drew his sword. "This is Final's strongest pair, the Scarlet Duo. Well, aside from the typical rumors, all I know about them is their ability to leave no one who had actually witnessed their skills alive."

The bickering duo suddenly went silent as they simultaneously turned their heads to look at the group. With their voice as one, the two said," Shall we show you?"

As soon as they said that, the two lurched forward. The red-haired female launched towards Clyuue while the black-haired male made his way towards Elvire. MD stood in place, appalled at their speed and synchrony. Feeling the tremors in his right hand, he knew this battle won't be an easy one.

Elvire knew better not to underestimate her opponents. Pulling her spear out, she got herself into a fighting stance.

"Shall we show you?"

"Not good." Elvire said calmly as she saw the black-haired male come charging at her. The man was quick, a bit too quick for Elvire as she jumped back, landing on a nearby tree branch. She kept her focus on her opponent, looking to use delaying tactics, feints and defensive maneuvers to study her opponent carefully. The more skilled opponents don't show glaring weaknesses, but she just had to wear him down.

"This is Final's strongest pair, the Scarlet Duo. Well, aside from the typical rumors, all I know about them is their ability to leave no one who had actually witnessed their skills alive."

" Shall we show you?"

Main Droite was certainly not joking when he touted their abilities. The red haired female of the pair lunged at such speeds towards her that had Clyuue not have been on high tension, her had may have been rolling. Unfortunately for the female, Clyuue is always appropriately ready for potential opponents. She was much to close for Clyuue to actually move forward but what she can do is perform a quick counter, just to gain some breathing room. Waiting till the very last moment when the female was as close as possible, Clyuue quick drew in a wide rightwards up diagonal cut. The great length of the straight sword meant that it can easily cleave a person in half and Clyuue's strike was wide and sweeping as well. In all honesty, she did not expect to hit her opponent, but at this close distance, Clyuue was confident that even this speedy fighter would be hard pressed to dodge and continue her initial charge. At the very least, it should offset her enough to give Clyuue several seconds to back up a step or two. Optimally, she hoped that it will force her to step back and cease her forward assault. If the red haired warrior's strength was in speed, halting her initial charge make her lose the preemptive strike and would level the field a bit
