[RP] Final Fantasy VII Rebirth Part I

Waking with a start, Brett sat straight up, sweat pouring from every inch of his being. I've got to thank Greg later. I would've been a goner if he didn't come and wake me.

Getting uot of his bed, he runs down the stairs, out the open door and straight towards Tony, who had just arived.

Slashing his way through the cyberhounds, making a path for the rest to follow. During his thoughtless rampage, Brett gets cuts and bite marks from some of the cyberhounds.

"Oohhh, you'll pay for that." Lightly touching his SA materia, he whispers the targets on which to take from.

The cyberhound's that were targeted start to glow a whitish silver and a light blue orb leaves their bodies and they go limp. The orbs, on the other hand, glide towards STRIFE. Each of the orbs enter a member that got hurt.

"Alright everyone. Lets go."

" Ivka is coming , shes just getting ready. "

Greg jumped onto the roof of a nearby house. He looked around the area, desciding what route to take next.

"The streets are covered in hounds and thieves, we gotta stick together on this next trip."

Greg jumped back down and began to explain where they should go next.

"To make it to the outskirts we need to take a busy route, the enemy won't expect us to go through the route with the most people and monsters."

Greg opened his bag and pulled out his goggles. He put them on his head and observed everyones materia. Nothing special just the usual. Greg felt his head from where he was cut. It was healing up but why did Ivka carry on healing me when it hurt her.. Greg was confused but thought he understood why.

"Before we go lets pop into the pub and get some bread and potions."

Greg opened the Inn door and head up to the pub.
"I'll take five loaves of bread."

"Thats 650 Gil, sir." The woman replied as Greg handed the woman the money.

Greg went back to the room to check up on Ivka.

"Come on we're all here. We're going"

"Come on we're all here. We're going."

"I-I'm coming." Ivka said, rushing away something.

Ivka came to her feet and took the stairs to the others. She saw five loafs of bread and some potions. She knew it was going to be a long journey. She checked it make sure she had everything before leaving. She took out her sword, frightening the landlord. She equipped her materia to it and put it away. Ivka was ready, she was rearing to go. The travel needed to be increased and have a big tempo to it and get her adrenaline rushing. But, would it?

"I'm ready."

(OOC: Short post, sorry. >_<)

Tony stopped firing once the others came and neatly dealt with the cyberhounds that were left. "Took you long enough" Tony muttered before heading in and following Greg up to where Ivka was. He watched without commenting as Ivka placed her materia into her blade and asserted she was ready. Tony reloaded his gun and put his own materia into it, so he could reload faster if nessecary.

"Alright then, so tell me. Where we heading, how long will it take, and how many bullets am I going to have to fire to discourage pursuit from any dumbass street thugs or bitch slaves of those hunting us down?"

That's Tony. Blunt as always.

Waiting beside the door for the other's, Brett starts thinking about his dream. Trying to both forget it and wondering if what he heard was real or not.

Damn it! Why can't I just get this out of my head? If it wasn't for Greg........

That's right, I forgot to thank Greg. Walking back inside, Brett starts to stagger. Trying to catch his balance, Brett grabs a near-by table.

Damn it. I need to find Greg before I pass out.

Brett makes his way up the stairs and starts towards the room that Greg has check out at the desk.

Upon entering the room, Brett feels as if he had just been beaten in the head with a monsterous club. Trying to find the energy to speak, Brett starts to move towards Greg. About half way there, he stumbles and hits the floor. Hard.

What's happening to me? Why can't I walk straight? Why can't I talk? God, what's happening to me?

Thrashing around on the floor trying to get up, Greg rush's over and helps him. He tries to talk, but the words won't form. He can feel Greg sit him up, but he could't move. He can see and hear, but nothing more.

"Ivka, can you help me get him down stairs? He might be tired after using his materia to heal us. In all these years, he's never taken the life out of more than two targets."

"Alright. But he owes us for this." And with that, he loses the fight to stay awake.

Greg turned his back away and spoke

" Next target is the Orphanage a few miles from here I have a parcel to pick up, the girl from earlier will come too. Again you can go in pairs or on your own. "

Greg turned away and walked down the street. Greg wondered if Ivka might go with him , but he doubted it.
The streets were swarming with hounds and creatures of the night.

It was going to be a long, dangerous journey. But it'd take them one step closer to the Outskirts. But little did they know they were going into further, deeper danger.

Greg put on his gloves and got himself ready for a rough night.

Arukab was sitting in the mansion at the basement. He was in the research room that his ancestor, Vincent Valentine, had experiments done on him. There were several books lined up all along the hallway that connected two different rooms. He had read most of the books, but he was always prepared to read more. He usually didn't touch anything that looked as though it was used in Shinra's research, as it did not interest him in the slightest.

Arukab decided to head on up the stairs into the main building.

OOC: short post is short, but I cant think anything up just yet...

Devidra stood before the spring in the center of the Midgar Church, he could sense vague traces of the Cetra here, unsurprising with the presence of the lifestream here. This entire city was a testament to why humanity should die, why they had been given power and had simply abused it, they simply must be slain like the dogs they were.

"Speaking of dogs..." Behind him 3 wild dogs had appeared, they were little threat, but their presence here was not welcome. "Begone mutts before I put you all down!" The dogs, not taking heed of his command pounced at him, however before they could harm him a flash of light appeared as they jumped past, falling into four pieces as they fell and faded away. A second later, Devidra finished sheathing his sword as he turned back to face the spring.

"Soon planet, soon you will be free from the shackles humanity has placed you in. They we will crush the humans and make you strong again, for a worthier race to be born again... The Cetra!"

The dark. All he could see was the dark. All alone. "Hello!" Heard the voice, but didn't see anyone. "Are you alright? Don't worry. Your safe here." Here? Where is here? "You must be very strong to still be alive. After a fall like that, I thought that you would never be alive." The voice was soft and feminine, But.....no, it couldn't be the same.....Could it?

"Where am I? Who are you?" Brett asks with a dry, sore throat. "Please, talk to me." Brett begins sobbing. Fighting to keep control of his voice, he cries aloud, "I don't want to be alone!!! Please talk to me!"

A hand softly touch's his cheek. "You'll never be alone, Brett. And you know the answer to both of your questions. You just need to put the peices together."

I Know the answer? Wait! It can't be the same place. He never wanted to return to THAT place.... It can't be the same place. It was to dark and cold. But then again.....

"Brett!Brett!!! Wake up man. It's time to go." Greg?!?! Brett starts to run in the endless dark that might possibly be THAT place. "Go, Brett. For you will have a tough road up ahead. Please remember, not to take that gret of a risk unless necessary. It is time that you find out the truth...."

Waking with a start, Brett gets out of bed and runs down stairs. "Where is everyone?" Its Ivka that answers.

"It's about time you woke up. Greg was telling you to wake up about....five minutes ago I think."

"What way did he go? What direction did he take?" Brett asks.

"He went towards the Orphanage.Why?"

"I'll explain later," Brett yells over his shoulder. Without wasting any time, Brett runs after Greg. There's no time to loss.

Ivka had already gone from the Inn and was on her way to the Orphanage. She knew that the others had no idea she'd gone, she just had to go before they knew. She needed space, and to be alone, would be great for her. With her equipment ready, she continued her journey towards the Orphanage. It was early morning, and it was warm, not too cold nor too hot.

"Why did you not tell them the truth?" Ivka asked herself.

She knew lying to them was good for the time being, but the truth had to come out sooner of later. Ivka had to tell them one day, or...she'd regret it for the rest of her life. She can't let more people down, like she did Laina.

"You're so selfish, sis." Laina said in Ivka's mind.
"You don't deserve friends." Laina whispered.
"You're full of petty lies." Laina mocked.
"Are you going to tell them what really happened to me, what you really did to me? Or are you going to cover up the fact that --" Laina said before Ivka screamed.

It was cold and the night air was an extra to this. Greg jumped onto the rood of a nearby house. He looked at the streets. Dead.

Greg walked slowly as he approached the villiage. And then it struck. His head throbbed and he felt as if he'd been shot . He fell of the house and onto the ground shaking as he fell.

He fell into a deep trance. He saw a man. In a church with flowers. This was Aerith's church. Greg approached him. When the man spoke.

"Speaking of dogs.. Get away before I kill you mutts"

Greg looked around, there were no dogs. Then he looked at himself. He was slightly opaque. As if he wasn't there. He approched the man. He looked like him,
Sephroth..

OOC: You cant see me :P

Ivka had a screaming pain in her head, as if she was needed, but she'd turned to many people down to change her personality. Where was everyone? She'd been waiting at the Orphanage for hours. It was dead inside, and as if it was slightly ghoulish. Ivka walked around, nothing made a noise. The only sounds were her heel making the wooden floorboards creak. She wasn't frightened, she'd seen worse.

"Hello...?" She shouted.
"..." A voice grunted.
"Whose there?" Ivka asked.

Ivka knew she wasn't alone, she scanned the area, left and right, up and down. No one was around, but she definitely heard something grunt, and now she could hear a crying child. She followed the noise, it was getting louder and closer as she approached a small room at the end of a long, winding narrow corridor. She pushed open the half closed door and stepped inside. A young girl with black short messy hair faced the wall of the box room. Ivka stepped closer and she began to speak.

"Time to change, Ivka, time to accept your faults." She said.
"You...you know my name?" Ivka asked, shocked.
"You can no longer lie, no longer hide. You speak false. Speak truth." She replied.
"I'm...sorry, what?" Ivka asked.
"He will come for you." She answered.

The young girl stood and turned to face Ivka, she had no face. She screamed, without a mouth and vanished into nothing. A small note was left on the floor, Ivka approached it. It seemed the girl had been given something before Ivka arrived. The note looked like an old story, or a song. Ivka began to read:

"Hidden in darkness, hidden in shadows.
Your time will dawn, when he comes.
Truths begin lies, when he comes.
Light meets dark, when he comes.
Everything will die, sooner or later.
"

"Sephiroth?" Ivka asked herself.

Running through the empty streets, Brett doesn't see Greg. In the corner of his eye, he see's movement. So quick, yet he caught a glimps of the figure. A young child. What's a child doing out this late at night? Brett follows just to be sure that the child is safe, but when he turns the corner, he's hit with a blunt object. How careless of me. After shaking off the pain, Brett looks up into the eye's of a nightmare. Oh my God, please let this be the pain going into my head. It can't be. Its not possible. Oh God....

Brett lost the will to stay awake and now all he see's is darkness. As he walks around, Brett finds many things long forgotten. He smiles as he picks up the very first weapon that he had learned to fight with. I can't believe it. I'm truly......Home.

Greg awoke from what had seemed a strange dream. He tried to remember everything he saw.

Yes. It looked like him, Sephiroth..

Greg looked around him. Then he remembered he was close to the Orphanage. Then Greg was worried he couldn't see the little girl.

"Hey, where are you?" Greg shouted in panic.

Then from behind him a voice.

"My-y name is Violet, or V" The girl walked up to Greg as she apoligized.

"When I saw you fall I tried to help by using my materia, but the process was slow and I got worried.." The girl walked up to Greg and took his hand.

Greg held the girls hand and they walked towards the orphanage.

This girl reminded him or Aerith.. And she too was a Cetra.

Greg opened the door of the Orphanage. It was the last of a few that were unharmed. Greg was welcomed by a woman named Portia.

"Oh hello G, another child?" The woman said cheerily

Greg nodded and handed the girl over.

" Do you have my package? " Greg asked the woman.

"Its here G"
Portia handed Greg the package and took the Violet to the dining room to eat.

Greg walked into the spare room and opened his package. The day had come. Greg's mum had died and the shuriken that Yuffie had owned was passed down.

Greg looked at it in the light. It was a little rusty so Greg descided to polish it until the other got here.

Ivka turned her back and could hear a woman, a young girl and another voice. She walked out the room to see Greg at the end of the hall, standing with a woman. He had called her Portia. The little girl, he called her Violet. Ivka didn't want Greg to notice her, so she went into the next room, where she hadn't expected to see...Laina. She's dead? How is she here?

"This is not just an orphanage, Ivka." Laina said.
"You're not real, you're dead..." Ivka replied.
"...and we know why." She said.
"I cannot change the past Laina." Ivka answered.
"...what if Greg found out? What if he really knew you?" Laina said.

Ivka walked around the room, she knew that Laina was dead, and Ivka knew she was alone in the room because she could tell Laina was in some spirit form. Here to haunt her, and make her pay. Ivka didn't want anybody to know the truth. Ivka had told so many lies, dealt so many wrongs...if the truth came out, Ivka would have to die. Ivka turned her back on Laina.

"You're not going to break me, not now. Not ever. Why don't you understand Laina? You're dead. You're lifeless. You're no longer living, you're nothing anymore. You're dead. Dead and empty. Just a spirit, nothing more." Ivka snapped, and as he turned around, Laina was gone.

"Brett!!! Brett, come play with us! Come on! Over here." A child's voice's? What was a child doing in this place? And more importantly, how did the child know his name? "Brett, hurry up! We're about to leave. Come on, hurry! The door's closing." Door? What door? There was never a door here before!

"Where are you? What way do I go?" Brett call's to the child. "Where are you?"

"Just follow your heart. It'll lead the way! Now hurry. We have no time to loss."

Just follow your heart. He remembers hearing that back when he was younger. But where? Alright, time to get a move on then.

"I'm Coming!" Just hold on a little longer everyone. I'll be there as fast as I can.

Did you ever imagine that you could get away with it, Ivka? You cannot escape this. I told you, you would never forget. People see you as the quiet one, but do they know why? Ha. No. You've lied, you've betrayed. You won't live this out. When you forget, it will be the day Sephiroth kills you.

"Leave me alone." Ivka said, coming to her feet.

Ivka left the room, she no longer saw Greg or the girl down the hall, she saw an empty hall...it looked as if everything had move the opposite way around, as if she was in another world. But she knew, deep inside she could not run from it. She looked around and paced down the corridor. Knocking on a door where Greg and the others had most likely gone through.

"Greg!" She shouted.

OOC: Short post >_<

" Greg! "

Greg slammed the door open. This wasn't the same cottage. It was empty. Greg ran to Ivka.

" PORTIA? VIOLET? " Greg shouted worried, this wasn't right it was a trap.

Greg looked at ivka and did a hand gesture meaning wait here.

Greg walked to the dining room. It was empty except violet in the corner. "Violet!" Greg shouted as he ran towards her.

"Did I make them go away? Was it my fault? Was it me?"
Violet began to cry.

Greg comforted the girl as he picked her up. Greg looked around the room for Portia. Portia was in there too. Under the table.

"Whats going on G?" Portia said worried.

"We're not sure come with me!"
Greg replied.

Greg ran back to Ivka. "What happened? Wheres the children?"
