[RP] Gundam Λ

Iglesias Vespertania

"Oh, morning. I wish I didn't have to wake up this early."

Iglesias salivated at the sight of the steaming coffee in his hand. Personally, she'd prefer an English Breakfast, but anything warm would do. Like a perfect gentleman, Leon went and prepared a cup of coffee for Igelsias, which she was very much grateful of.

"Comm Officer served as the alarm clock, huh?"

if only JUST an alarm clock. I got one that is so bubbly that i think she runs on champagne or something carbonated. She also seems overly attached and a smidge unprofessional.

"You've seen Chris, by any chance?"

“…E-early start for you two as well..?”

Well, there he is. Morning!

Their fellow new pilot joined them in the hangar, looking not quite awake either.

I was not actually aware we had a set time we were meant to wake up... unless the comm officers are just sadistic. But i digress. You guys being here means you are accepting a mission as well?

There really was no other reason to go to the hangar unless one is doing last minute prep up at this hour. Iglesias did find tinkering with her suit and sitting inside the cockpit to be oddly soothing, but if she could choose, she'd rather be in bed right now.

Leon Hohenlohe

“…E-early start for you two as well..?”

Well, there he is. Morning!

Leon turned towards Chris as he walked into the hangar, like both he and Iglesias, Chris looked like he was barely keeping awake in the ordeal. Leon could only help but to make another cup of coffee for him, of which he would give to the guy. "Well, I hope it does not become a thing, otherwise there will be a really big issue about it." Leon said with a yawn, covering his mouth as he did so.

I was not actually aware we had a set time we were meant to wake up... unless the comm officers are just sadistic. But i digress. You guys being here means you are accepting a mission as well?

"Yeah, I've taken a contract with the LCC, kill an informer selling secrets to Emurade Corporation. It's actually why I had to get that replacement rifle set up for me." Leon said, pointing at the large gun currently equipped to the RX-78. "What about you guys? Any of you taking that other assignment?"

"Well, I hope it does not become a thing, otherwise there will be a really big issue about it."

Here here. Waking to a digi face right next to you is heart attack inducing....

I was not actually aware we had a set time we were meant to wake up... unless the comm officers are just sadistic. But i digress. You guys being here means you are accepting a mission as well?

"Yeah, I've taken a contract with the LCC, kill an informer selling secrets to Emurade Corporation. It's actually why I had to get that replacement rifle set up for me. What about you guys? Any of you taking that other assignment?"

Me? Well, Zio Matrix for me. Some rogue AI pods gone nuts. I guess a basic clean and sweep mission. Nothing too serious.

Leon's mission made Iglesias' one look like a walk in the park. She hid her slight embarrassment by burying her face into her cup for a bit. While she was in her cup, Iglesias thought to herself on what leon had said at the end about changing the rifle. She had originally thought of going in with her standard loadout, but if she was going against lightly armed mobile pods, surely she could ditch her shield and get reacquainted with dual wielding weapons? For too long, she had depended on her board for protection and Iglesias felt that that might have dulled her sense in combat. Should it ever be destroyed, and it will, Iglesias still wanted to remember how to engage in mobility combat. After all, they were in space and there will be no buildings for her to hide behind up here.

I probalby should look into changing out some gear as well. It does seem to be a good mission to revise on mobility fighting. I think i've been too reliant on my shield as of late... Still, what about you Mr Walker? Which one did you choose? And come to think of it, how long will it take exactly before we can actually sortie for the mission?

As Christopher’s mind crawled out from the lethargic state of sleep, the reality of his predicament finally hit him: He was now a mercenary. A gun for hire. Perhaps he was late in realising it… Or he finally decided to accept it. He took glances at his two fellow recruits. Were these two also considering the consquences of this line of work? The fact that- whatever way you could look at it- they were now going to be murders for hire? Still, Christopher never displayed it extrevertly. He felt that this place was an arena, an area which weakness and hesistance would be annihilated. He'd better be strong and tough.

Chris glanced towards his fellow Ravens and then over to Deathscythe. He held the stare for just a few seconds, but his mind flashed swiftly: What a sight to end your life seeing- an embodiment of death itself. That being said, why is it a scythe? Surely a design focus can be both haunting and mystifying without the usage of such an awkward and limited weapon.

He zoomed back, as both of his co-workers inquired on his position.

“I opted for an Assassination mission. An informant. I believe it the same mission as Leon's. I opted for it since DeathScythe's armoury seemed more suited to it. ”

While he could string more than two sentences together this morning- in comparison to yesterday- Christopher was still nervous, still avoiding light eye contact. It wasn't the ridiculous time, or early time. If nobody had noticed by now; Christopher suffered from a serious shyness issue. And- like so many others- these issues also seemed to have impacted on his attitude and personality. He can come across quite aloof- as he probably did during his reply to Iglesias and Leon- and cocky on the outside, but his inner shell was filled with an extreme self doubt, and a chip on his shoulder. For example, he'd never admit that he'd had problems properly using the weaponry on the DeathScythe, or that his skills with the Scythe were extremely lacking.

“Oh..? I guess it's always good to keep your militant side in shape. In the field, you can never be on the backfront for too long...”

In all honestly, this wasn't an exactly tried and tested opinion from Chris. He'd never been in an extremely tight military situation where in he had to go on the defensive for an extended period of time: Training droids aren't as quick-witted or unpredictable as a flesh and blood pilot.

“Leon. I believe we should perhaps decide on our plan of action for the next mission on the journey there... Till then, I believe we should take it easy...”

He then leaned back against the railings, which were position infront of the huge corridor leading to DeathScythe's chamber. This was to be his life for the forseeable future: better settle in quickly.

More Mission Details

I probalby should look into changing out some gear as well. It does seem to be a good mission to revise on mobility fighting. I think i've been too reliant on my shield as of late... Still, what about you Mr Walker? Which one did you choose? And come to think of it, how long will it take exactly before we can actually sortie for the mission?

"Your mission will commence at 1630 hours, Ms. Vespertania." A woman spoke, causing Leon to turn around. The woman looked familiar to her, the same person who woke him up at such an ungodly hour in the morning. "Nell..." Leon said, sipping some of his coffee. "As for you two gentlemen, your mission will be for 0100 hours, in order to achieve a high degree of surprise."

"Of course..." Leon thought to himself, better install his AC with a coffee maker or something. "I came to meet with you personally, it's not often that Ravens would meet their liasion's face to face. You seem quite cute."

"Uh...Thanks." Leon said calmly, keeping a straight face. "Could you tell me more about the corporations and factions operating on Mars?"

Nell looked at Leon, a bit puzzled, although to be fair, these three were from Earth after all, so it would make some sense. "Okay, this is the current situation. Emurade, you knew was the largest corporation on Earth, but because Zio Matrix beat them to Mars, they are currently the second behind them, while Balena is the third party in the corporate affair. All three are dedicated to the manufacturing of Mobile Suits, weapons and equipment, and also control various other industries through their subsidiaries."

Leon took to memory the situation of the three corporations.

"Then there is the Large Scale Enterprises of the Central Comittee, or LCC for short. They are the Earth Government's primary organ of government on the Red Planet, created to rein in the corporations. However, they have problems of their own."

Leon asked, "What kind of problems?", which led to another response from Nell. "Its resources are nowhere near as plentiful as those of the corporations, and since those groups already control all the major mining areas, the LCC is having a difficult time producing its resources on its own, and the corporations generally do not do business with the government. More damning still is the fact that the Earth Government has no excess of Mobile Suits or equipment, or pilots to utilize them without causing anarchy back on Earth. Plus the government and the LCC has an aversion to using Ravens unless it is of the utmost importance."

"I see, well that explained the rude remarks the LCC generally gave me in its briefing." Leon said.

"Hm, where is Amelie and Lisa?" Nell said, looking around, just wondering where those two were, and why they haven't gone to meet with the pilots personally.

As Christopher’s mind crawled out from the lethargic state of sleep, the reality of his predicament finally hit him: He was now a mercenary. A gun for hire. Perhaps he was late in realising it… Or he finally decided to accept it. What else could he do? Christopher highly doubted he'd be able to leave this PMC without any sort of interference. The information he'd already gathered was way to vital to let him be on his way.

It was then that a newcomer to the conversation woke him from his minute-long daydream. She seemed to know Leon-his partner for this next mission- and the details for the mission. Her next blatant statement as Leons “liasion” silenced any inquiry that had made camp on his tongue. Somewhat glad for this, Christopher continued to listen in on Nell's explanation of the situation. Christopher had already some knowledge on the business practices of the modern world, but not this, semi shady, private millitary underbelly. It was both fasicinating, and unsettling. Would Ravens be hunting or battling Christopher's grandfathers company, had it not been ripped apart by the-comparitively- grim world of coporate business? If anything, Christopher made sure to remember the major players: Balena, Emurade and Zio Matrix.

The first aspect Chris asked was... Where'd these names come from? While not exactly important, it was a tad intriguing to him. Of course, the bigger picture was the situation on the planet they were currently on: Mars. This LCC sounded like a crumbling shell of an organisation, perhaps like the many colonies that crumbled across the Earth's history. Maybe Christopher was making an exaggerated comparison, but it was definitely better to be safe than sorry.

But then, when Nell mentioned two others-one of which Christopher remembered from the morning- the “stand in” lady- Christopher realised he'd probably been eavesdropping on a private conversation. Hiding his embarrassment well, Christopher noticed a figure-not unlike the women from the vid-call before- strolling over. She was about two inches taller than him, albeit in high heels. She seemed a tad bit cool- but not to the extent it was offputting.

“Hello... This is Christopher, yes? I'll be your stand-in liasion officer for the next two or so weeks. Come to me with any questions you have till then. I believe Nell and Leon have opted for the same mission, so would I be right to presume you've also recieved a briefing? ”

Christopher nodded timidly, as his domineering Liasion went off into a tangent. She seemed to repeat the same information that Nell had explained- with the slight variations you'd expect from a different informant.

Christopher just scratched his head as she continued, somewhat shocked by Lisa's swift stab into business talk.

"Did you get that?"

“Errr.. yeah...”

Iglesias Vespertania

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
"Your mission will commence at 1630 hours, Ms. Vespertania."
A uniformed lady strolled up towards the trio. Iglesias didn't recognise the lady, but the lady knew her. She even knew information about her mission.
"Nell..."
"As for you two gentlemen, your mission will be for 0100 hours, in order to achieve a high degree of surprise. I came to meet with you personally, it's not often that Ravens would meet their liasion's face to face. You seem quite cute."
That explained a lot to Iglesias. She was part of the CIC support group. That meant that this "Nell" is colleague with Amelie. Iglesias amused herself with the thought of how Ms Nell dealt with Amelie on a daily basis if she herself found her eccentricity to be unnerving, and that was only for a few minutes.
"Uh...Thanks. Could you tell me more about the corporations and factions operating on Mars?"
"Okay, this is the current situation. Emurade, you knew was the largest corporation on Earth, but because Zio Matrix beat them to Mars, they are currently the second behind them, while Balena is the third party in the corporate affair. All three are dedicated to the manufacturing of Mobile Suits, weapons and equipment, and also control various other industries through their subsidiaries."
In essence, the corporation has become mini nations themselves, waging proxy and hidden wars with each other.
"Then there is the Large Scale Enterprises of the Central Comittee, or LCC for short. They are the Earth Government's primary organ of government on the Red Planet, created to rein in the corporations. However, they have problems of their own."
"What kind of problems?"
"Its resources are nowhere near as plentiful as those of the corporations, and since those groups already control all the major mining areas, the LCC is having a difficult time producing its resources on its own, and the corporations generally do not do business with the government. More damning still is the fact that the Earth Government has no excess of Mobile Suits or equipment, or pilots to utilize them without causing anarchy back on Earth. Plus the government and the LCC has an aversion to using Ravens unless it is of the utmost importance."
That really locked it in. It really was like nations if even they can't rein in the corporations.
"I see, well that explained the rude remarks the LCC generally gave me in its briefing."
"Hm, where is Amelie and Lisa?"
“Hello... This is Christopher, yes? I'll be your stand-in liasion officer for the next two or so weeks. Come to me with any questions you have till then. I believe Nell and Leon have opted for the same mission, so would I be right to presume you've also recieved a briefing? ”
This oher female had to be Lisa, since she spoke with Chris. So where was Amelie? Iglesias looked all around where they were and the energetic girl was nowhere in sight when a shocking blonde object appeared up as a door opened. From the door, a sleepy and yawning Amelie strolled sloppily out and swayed towards the group.
Yaaaaaawn...'Lo Nell, Lisa....So sleeeepy! Those two your pilots.....?
The current Amelie was completely different from what she saw earlier on. Her more docile and sluggish personality right now might actually be an improvement, but Iglesias spoke too soon. As Amelie moved closer, she saw past leon and saw Iglesias. Within a split second, Amelie shot forward and glomped onto Iglesias, throwing her arms around her neck.
Iggy! Yay! You're up! I don't have to wait until the mission is over to meet ya!
The young girl was almost bowled over by the slightly older one and felt somewhat awkward.
See, Nell, Lisa? Isn't my pilot much better than yours? No offense to you two. Isn't she sooo cute?
Ehehehe... ahem... so... do you have any information to give me?
Not really no. Its quite a straight forward mission. Zio Matrix would give you more information when you reach the AO. I do suggest ballistic weaponry with high fire rate. These are quite lowly mobile pods, so no shielding or special plating. Only main trait is that there is a lot of them so hi cap, high fire rate.
Despite how flaky she was, her information and suggestions were really good. Perhaps she really shouldn't judge Amelie so fast
Well, since i got some time, i guess we can hang for a bit with the others? You don't have anything else to do?
Really? REALLY REALLY?! YAY....! oh wait... Do we have anything to do PP Nell?
Leon Hohenlohe & Nell Aulter
As if on cue, both Lisa and Amelie arrived to greet and inform their pilots on their missions. What was most amusing to Leon was how Amelie reacted to Iglesias.
Iggy! Yay! You're up! I don't have to wait until the mission is over to meet ya!
Watching Leon just glomp Amelie made him chuckle a little. "Wow, second day already and you already have a fan Iglesias..." Still, he could not doubt the capability as a liason, despite what he felt was an eccentric nature.
Well, since i got some time, i guess we can hang for a bit with the others? You don't have anything else to do?
Really? REALLY REALLY?! YAY....! oh wait... Do we have anything to do PP Nell?
Nell grumbled at that remark, saying under her breath. "I am not a Party Pooper..." Leon caught her on that remark, "What was that?"
"Well, we have many facilities that cater to the needs of the Ravens and other members of Nerves Concord. Recreation Centers for Basketball, Football, Tennis, Billiards and such. We also have Movie Theaters, Amusement Parks, Arcades..."
"Wait, Nerves Concord operates all of this stuff?" Leon asked.
"Yes, under the guise of Concord Corporation, we primarily focus on entertainment purposes. It does not have as much competition with the other conglomerates."
"Well, that's settled, since we have time, why not? After all, it's your decision Amelie." Leon said, trying not to laugh as much.
Stephen Hownam - ZGMFX10-A Freedom Gundam
As Aaron's voice came through Stephen's comm system warning him about the detonation Stephen heard the First Explosion and felt it shake the Entire Ship. Stephen spun around and sprinted back to the Freedom, and it was by blind luck he assumed the Explosion didn't catch up to him, he Entered and Disembarked in the Freedom as fast as he can, Raising the Hard metal Shield in order to absorb a large portion of the Explosion and it's shockwave, although the Freedom did suffer some damage that was predominantly aesthetic.
Once clear of the Explosion, the Freedom's power shut down, and fell to the surface, using the Freedom's back-up battery pack to power the Freedom's console Stephen ran a system diagnostic from his cockpit only to discover that some of the damage was to the power system's link to the suit, he began typing frantically and working and after about an hour of hard work and hairbrained idea's Stephen manage to get the Freedom's communication system working and he managed to call for a collection team.
it was another couple of hours that Stephen had to wait, but eventually the Collection team arrived and helped Stephen and the Freedom out, returning him to Raven HQ. Once back, Stephen headed to the De-briefing of the mission in the hope that Aaron would join him there, After all Aaron was a good pilot and Stephen hoped that he made it out of the ship alive, and with any luck only minor damages to his Gundam, the Quant Stephen believed it was called.
Amelie narrowed her eyes with a coy smile before letting off a haughty laugh before giving him a quick glance up and down
Ohohohohoho. I see how it is... Hm.... Well, i would be lying if i said you aren't somewhat good looking, but save your breath for Nell. As for where i wanna go.... hm? Whats this?
As Amelie slumped further onto Iglesias, something hard nudged her ribs. It was rather uncomfortable and as blunt as she always was, Amelie, without hesitation, dropped down low and pulled up Iglesias' jacket. It wasn't even a slight lift up. Amelie had quite literally pulled it almost inside out, with only the sleeves on and the torso of the jacket around her head. Underneath was obviously her suit shirt, but what was surprising was the tactical rigging on her body and the large pistol that made the uncomfortable bump.
Eh? EEEHH?! What is going on? Whats happening?!
Hrm... How daring Iggy. Do you pack heat wherever you go?
Uwaawawawa! It's cold! Put my jacket back down!
Satisfied with how long she got to have a look, Amelie let the jacket back down and pondered for a second.
That was mean, Ms Amelie. It was really cold.
Completely ignoring her, Amelie clapped once loudly as if to signify something major.
Alrighty. For Iggy, lets head to a range. A shooting range. I'm quite a crack shot mind you and if Iggy is carrying around a piece, i am sure she is as well....Lisa, I am not so sure and Nell doesn't look like she can hit the broadside of a barn. How about a contest, CIC vs pilots. Nell will be our handicap. Surely you combat savvy types can beat some desk jockeys right?
