[RP]Seekers of Power

“Wait, you can’t take her. There’s no reason to!” Lyra shouted, but she had already made up her mind. The girl sent her a mocking bow before the little blue platforms she summoned up and made it out of window. How was she supposed to find them like this? Her legs were still hurt. Walking would be difficult; running would be impossible. The rest of the apartment was surely going to be lit ablaze soon. Luckily for her, the sprinkler system was going to have to pick in sooner or later.

As she started crawling her way out of the apartment, the system did end up kicking on. Water poured from the ceiling as if it were raining. “Great… there goes my suit.” After a few minutes, she was able to crawl her way out of the apartment and into the hallway. From there, she sat up and started trying to dig the needles out of her legs. Once she was done, she was going to have to find out where Alyss was taken. She could only imagine the horrors that woman would put her though.

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Meanwhile, Alyss was waking up… somewhere. She couldn’t quite make out where she was. Her head was pounding and her vision was still rather blurry. She certainly wasn’t on her bed. As she slowly started making out where she was, she noticed she was in some run down building. Once she turned to the left, she noticed the girl from earlier. The same one that killed that man… the same one that ruined any chance she had of normalcy, the very same one that she tried to attack. “O-Oh no…” She instantly tried to teleport only to find that she couldn’t. She flickered and wasn’t able to. She was at her limit, and he nose started bleeding. Alyss trembled as she couldn’t help but ask, “w-what are you going to do with me?”

Ah, the girl had woken up. She could begin now. Without looking at her, she folded her arms and paced back and forth. She had started with the typical questions, only reinforcing that this girl, unlike her partner, was the age she appeared to be. "I want a lot of things, little girl." Finally she deigned to half look at her with a smile on her face, fingers tracing patterns through the air.

She walked over to her, eyes dancing with delight and anticipation as she stopped, looking down at the girl.
"We'll start with your name, shall we?" Her smile widened. "And then we can move on to you giving me that little power of yours." A giggle escaped her lips for the second time in an hour. Her second personality was feeling dominant today. Fine by her, of course.

"But first." Twin green glimmers of light appeared on either side of Altera's head, and they reflected off of the red haired girl's kneecaps; their obvious target. "We seem to have exhausted your ability to escape me with your powers. But your legs still work just fine. Let's change that." Her smile became unmistakably malicious, and her voice lowered to barely above a whisper. "Shall we?"

The beams were released.

Alyss watched in horror as the girl paced. Not once did she even bother to look at her as she did so, which made Alyss feel all the more worse. The smile that was on her face was almost sickening. What did she have planned for her? As she spoke, Alyss looked around for an exit. “I want a lot of things, little girl.” She said. Alyss couldn’t manage to figure out any means of escape. There was a window, but it was much too high for her to get to. Not to mention she would have to get past the girl to do so. As the girl finally started to look at her, Alyss shifted and sat up slowly.

“We’ll start with your name, shall we?” she asked with that sickening smile of hers. “And then we can move on to you giving me that little power of yours.” All Alyss could manage to do was shake her head to the side. She wasn’t going to give up her power… not by a long shot. However, from the tone of the woman’s voice, she wasn’t going to take no for an answer at all. The giggle she let out wasn’t helping much either. The only thing Alyss could do was tremble out of fear. She just wanted to go back home… “But first.” Alyss’ eyes widened again as lights appeared on her head and shot off to Alyss’ knees. She could see the green light on her skirt.

“We seem to have exhausted our ability to escape me with your powers. But your legs still work just fine. Let’s change that.” Alyss gasped, “W-wait… th-there is n-no reason to do th-that I will not ru-run…” However, her plea went ignored. “Shall we?” The beams released onto Alyss’ knees. Almost instantly, for the second time that day, Alyss screamed out in pain. However, she wasn’t passing out this time. All she could manage to do was scream and lay back down as she writhed in pain like she had never experienced before. “S-STOP! PLEASE STOP!” Her screams bounced off the walls of the empty building they were in. Tears streamed down her face as the beams continued to hit their target.

As expected, the girl screamed in agony the moment the beams bored into her knees. Without the slightest change in expression, she cut off the beams and folded her arms once again, giving the girl a little respite. After all, she needed her alive, didn't she? But she wasn't going to give up because of a few burns, much as she would have preferred her to. She wouldn't be able to walk with wounds like that, however.

Her screams and tears sent shivers of pleasure down Altera's spine. She had known the moment she took her time on that memory manipulator that she had a taste for blood. A taste for drawn out brutality. It was almost liberating in its simplicity and beauty. And a great way to see her role through.

But this time, she couldn't kill her quite so quickly. She needed something rather valuable from her.

"Now, you'll tell me your name, won't you?" She reached into her dress, and pulled out her revolver, cradling the killer weapon in her hands as she looked down at the girl. "And then..." She placed the cool steel on the girl's cheeks, with a smile that under any other circumstances would have been soothing upon her face.

"You're going to give me your powers. Willingly and of your own volition." In a single, rapid movement, she placed the gun; this time the barrel, onto the girl's left shoulder blade. Her smile widened. "Aren't you?" Altera pulled the trigger.

OOC: I think I'll join in this particular trio. That ok with you techno?

IC: Levont drove up to an apartment in his motorcycle before stopping. A small bag of food sat behind him as he turned the bike off and got off. He was delivering some food to a customer that, to quote his manager, "Won't leave the building if you set the place on fire." He only sighed. It had been a week since he last saw that woman as well. The straw hat Ren. He wondered what happened to her after the storm, but he wasn't going to complain. At the very least, he had a possible friend/quick source of easy amusement. Grabbing the food and entering the building, Levont slowly made his way to the 34th floor. The walk soon started burning into his legs as he reached the 32nd floor. It was then his foot splashed into water.

"Water? In the building?" Levont muttered looking at said puddle before looking up.

Drips of water dropped down as he ran up the stairs to the 34th floor. Opening the stairway doors, Levont was greeted with raining hallway. There was a person in the hallway in front of a doorway that looked like it has seen better days. Dropping the food, Levont ran up to the woman.

"Hey?!
Bạn có còn sống không? (Are you alive?) Gah. Are you alive there? What happened?" Levont asked as he gave the lady a quick once over. She looked fine, but appearances is not everything as he came to know.

It had taken a couple of minutes, but Lyra had eventually pulled the needles out of her leg. From the looks of it, they were light in physical form. While it was pretty neat, Lyra wasn’t too pleased that something so tiny brought her out so easily. She started to try to get up when she noticed a brown haired man nearby. He ran down the hall as if it was some emergency. Then again, considering the state of the building… it was hard to believe that there wasn’t. He said something in English, which was expected. However, the he burst out in some gibberish that caused Lyra to look at him with an arched eyebrow.

“Yes, I’m fine.” Lyra lied. “However, you should probably stick to one language. From there she stood up. It pained her, but she was able to manage rather well. Running was still out of the question, however. “We should probably get out of here.” Without waiting for him, she walked right past him and started down the stairs.

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Alyss shivered in pain after the woman stopped with the beams. The way her legs felt, it felt as if she would never be able to walk again. The burned in pain and she could see blood seeping through her skirt as well as dripping down her legs to the floor. All she could do was lie down on the floor as the woman causing her so much pain looked down at her and smiled. How could someone smile as they cased someone so much pain? It wasn’t right… it wasn’t human. “Now, you’ll tell me your name, won’t you?”

As she asked, she pulled out a revolver from her dress and looked back down at Alyss. Alyss did nothing but look at the girl and the gun in fear. She wanted both of them to go away. “And then…” She trailed the gun down Alyss’ face, causing her to flinch away from it. “You’re going to give me your powers. Wilingly and of your own volition.” The gun was placed from her cheek to her left shoulder. The woman smiled even more. “Aren’t you?” Alyss tried to open her mouth to speak, but all that came out were sobs. Before she could manage anything, the trigger was pulled.

The sound of the gunshot almost completely drowned out the blood curdling scream that Alyss let out. Blood instantly spurted out of the newly formed hole in her shoulder. She could feel the bullet go all the way through. Her right arm clasped over her shoulder as she tried to roll over and start crawling. But the pain from her knees previously wouldn’t allow it. Once her screams subsided, all she could do was cry and sob. Tears continued to stream down her face much like the blood streamed from her knees and shoulder. “P-Please… stop, I-I am n-not a threat… N-no more… ple-please…”

“Yes, I’m fine. However, you should probably stick to one language"

"That's beside the point. What happened here? You need to get to a hospital and get some cops here to investigate this. I can get you there on my motorcycle if you want." Levont asked as he watched the lady limp off to the stairs he took. Taking a quick look into the room, Levont followed the lady.

Judging by her injury, it looked like
something shot into her, ruling out any sort of friendly accident. He didn't see anyone else beside her, so Levont ruled it down to either someone attacked her and ran or she was just unfortunate to get caught in something bigger that neither she or Levont knew. Until the wounded lady limping away to the stairs said something, he would keep the suspicions to himself and hope she would at least tell him what brought her to that state. The last thing this Vietnamese boy needed was the wrong accusation pointed at him and him spending time in an American jail.

The blood splatter from the wound splashed across Altera's dress, and she clicked her tongue in disapproval as she smoothed it out, before returning her attention to the girl, who was still begging for mercy from her.

"You just don't get it, do you?" Altera's left hand wrapped around the girl's neck as she smiled down at her. "Whether or not you're a threat doesn't matter. No matter how much you scream and cry and beg, I won't stop until you give me your powers." For a moment her grip tightened, then released. "Are you so worthless; so unable to cooperate with somebody who's killing you, that you'll die before you do that?"

With a wave of her hand, she formed a green square beneath the girl's prone form, and raised her into the air; high enough that a drop would be incredibly painful. She smiled up at the girl, now bleeding from several points, and begging for mercy.
"No matter how much you scream and cry," she repeated. "I won't let you get away from this until you cooperate with me." And with that, she dispelled the force field raising her into the air.

The man had asked her what had happened. While she had nothing against the man, she wasn’t exactly in the mood to tell a story. “Not a fan of motorcycles, sorry. As for what happened, it’s nothing important. But since we’re on that subject, did you see a woman with pink hair fly out of the window before you got here? If so, which direction did they go in? Is there anywhere in that area that would make a good place to hide? Answer quickly, I don’t have all day, and someone’s life is in danger.” She didn’t bother to stop limping down the stairs to speak, nor did she bother to look at him. The only thing she could think of is where someone could have gone out of that window at that speed and at that angle.

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

“You just don’t get it, do you?” The only thing that Alyss “got” was that she was in more pain than she had ever been in her life and that this woman enjoyed bringing it to her. Was her power that special to her? She couldn’t even use it as a weapon. Why would the woman want it? The woman wrapped her hand around Alyss’ neck as she continued to smile at her. In the condition she was in, Alyss could barely manage to grab at her hand with her good arm. It didn’t do her much good. She was much too weak to even attempt to pull her arm off.

“Whether or not you’re a threat doesn’t matter. No matter how much you scream and cry and beg, I won’t stop until you give me your powers.” Alyss was going to protest, but she felt the woman’s grip tighten around her throat. Instead of words, only a drowned out gargle came out. “Are you so worthless; so unable to cooperate with somebody who’s killing you, that you’ll die before you do that?” Before she could attempt an answer, Alyss felt something at her back. She turned her head just enough to be able to see something green below her. It lifted her up into the air quickly.

The first thing that Alyss could think of was that she was going to drop her. From that height, it would paralyze her. “P-Please… n-not this… I-I cannot give you my po-powers… I-I need them.” She could now feel her head getting somewhat light from the blood loss. Now that she noticed, her blood was covering quite a portion of the green platform it was on. “No matter how much you scream and cry, I won’t let you get away from this until you cooperate with me.” Alyss sobbed once again. In between sobs, she tried to speak again. “I-I can gi-give you anything b-but my powers… Please…”

However, that seemed to not matter much. The green platform vanished without a trace and Alyss was sent crashing down. Luckily for her, she was spinning slightly. She wasn’t going to fall on her back. Unfortunately, she was spinning to the left. She landed right on her left arm. The gunshot wound exploded in pain, followed by the rest of her arm as even she could hear the sickening crack of it breaking. Once more, Alyss screamed out in pain. The shrieking was so high pitched and terrible that it even hurt her ears. The sound of it was almost inhuman as it rang off the walls of the empty building they were in. She was now shivering and trembling as she sobbed and cried in a puddle of her own blood. In a barely audible whisper she simply cried out, “I-I c-cannot…”

Every fiber of her being was telling her to just give up and let go of her power. However, the one little bit that wasn’t insister that she keep them. For some odd reason, she suddenly wanted to be useful to someone. “W-Where is L-Lyra?”

Candice woke up to the smell of burning, before the sound of the sprinkler system going off from the floor above resounded from her ceiling. The fire alarm was the next, incredibly loud cacophony to go off, and Candice sighed as she climbed out of bed. They were supposed to go to their designated gathering point at a time like this, weren't they? What a pain.

After getting dressed, she headed outside. Most people had already evacuated, but there were two; a man and a woman, sitting outside of the building as smoke poured out of the windows. The woman looked injured; pained. Curious as to what was happening, she looked from afar. Perhaps this would make for valuable information at a later date.

Altera smiled as the girl continued to resist. Good. The more she resisted, the more she could keep the torture up.
"You just don't get it, do you? This could have been so much easier, little girl." But her smile said otherwise.

Grabbing a small bottle of water from the corner, she pulled the cap off and began dousing the girl in it from head to feet.
"Did you ever learn in school, little girl?" she asked almost casually as she shook out the last of the bottle of water onto the girl's hair. She was crying still, rolling over and trying desperately to nurse her wounds. It wasn't working very well.

A spark danced at her fingers. A weak enough spark, relatively speaking. She still needed the girl alive, after all.
"Water conducts electricity," she whispered, and shot the spark at the girl without another word.

The woman was clearly a sadist. Furthermore, she either didn’t care or didn’t hear Alyss’ question. However, it wasn’t as if Alyss was in any condition at all to say anything about it. Still smiling at her, the woman spoke once again. “You just don’t get it, do you? This could have been so much easier, little girl.” That wasn’t the first time that week she had been called “little girl”. But that seemed to be the very least of her worries right now. Every inch of her ached in pain as she reached over with her right arm to clutch at her shoulder; it only caused her pain. Her left arm felt as if it had snapped in half.

Her captor and tormenter had gotten a bottle of water from the nearby corner and started pouring it on her. Alyss could have thanked her for it had she not knew something awful was about to happen. “Did you ever learn in school, little girl?” The rest of the water went into her hair. With that, she noticed a spark at the woman’s fingers. Alyss’ expression went from pained to absolute horror. “Water conducts electricity,” said whispered coldly. The spark hit Alyss in the chest, and once again Alyss shrieked out in pain.

It wasn’t as bad as the gunshot, it wasn’t as bad as her arm being broken, nor was it as bad having her knees shot at by her lasers. However, pain added up, and even Alyss knew there wasn’t much more she could take. After Alyss’ screams died down she continued to sob as she looked up at her captor. Every word she spoke was interrupted by her flinching out of pain and the fact that a little bit of electricity still flowed through her. “C-Can yo-ou no-not lea-leave m-me al-alon-“ Alyss let out a brief yelp of pain as she felt the electricity still within her hit once more. “A-alone? I-I a-am so-sorry… I c-cannot giv-give you m-my po-powers.”

She was having a hard time breathing. Alyss was trying her best to hang in there, but knew she wouldn’t be able to. Even worse than before, she wanted to give up her ability just to make the pain go away. However, she still wasn’t going to give it up. It was the only thing she had left… “I-I ne-need it…”

"Hm. Your body is on the verge of total shutdown, little girl. Perhaps we should give you a respite." Sitting down, she rolled a water bottle to the girl's uninjured shoulder so she could pick it up. She took a seat on a dusty chair and opened a water bottle of her own, drinking deep before placing it down again, and looking at the girl with the same smile as ever.

"You really need to consider your options here. You can either surrender your powers to me and I'll assure you that you'll end up in the closest hospital I can find. Or..." She took a drink again.
"You can keep refusing and end up dead. Or worse."

She pointed to the machine thrumming in the distance.
"Do you see that little machine over there? It's our salvation. But it only listens when we sacrifice people like ourselves in it. It grants us liberation from the pain we feel. And if you don't obey me...well, you may be its next meal. It longs for you. Can you hear it?" She giggled. "Or is it too much to hear over your base screams? Your begging for succor." She took another drink and went silent.

The next bit of what was to come shocked Alyss completely. “Hm. Your body is on the verge of total shutdown, little girl. Perhaps we should give you a respite.” She sat down, and the rolled a bottle of water towards her. It was as if her personality had just done a complete 180. She had gone for torturing her to handing her a bottle of water in less than a few seconds. However, she wasn’t complaining. With her good arm, she grabbed the bottle of water. However, sitting upright was impossible in her current condition. It took her a few tries to open the water, but she managed to get the cap off and drink the water by turning her head sideways.

Even swallowing the water hurt. Everything about her hurt at that moment, however she still managed to drink the water quickly. She drank it as if she hadn’t drunk anything in years. However, any comfort the water may have brought her was quickly taken away as she noticed the woman still smiling at her. “You really need to consider your options here. You can either surrender your powers to me and I’ll assure that you’ll end up in the closest hospital I can find or…” there was a short pause as she drank some of her own water. “You can keep refusing and end up dead. Or worse.”

How something got worse than dead, Alyss had no idea. Unfortunately, the woman seemed to have no problems explaining. “Do yo use that little machine over there? It’s our salvation. But it only listens when we sacrifice people like ourselves in it. It grants us liberation from the pain we feel. And if you don’t obey me… well, you may be its next meal. It longs for her. Can you hear it?” She giggled as Alyss turned her head to see what she was talking about. In the corner of the room sat some sort of giant machine. Alyss had never seen anything like it before. It looked to be made of steel and chrome and was covered in switches, levers, and what appeared to be blood. “Or is it too much to hear over your base screams? Your begging for succor.”

She was mocking her now. However, for once in her life, Alyss knew when to keep her mouth closed. She didn’t want to outright refuse to give her power up again. Instead, she was going to try to change the subject for a little while. Though, she knew that it wouldn’t take much for the woman to want to get back to torturing her again. She was going to have to be careful with her words. Her voice still trembled as she spoke, but she tried to remain calm. “You… you said t-that machine was ‘our salvation’. What did you mean by that? What does it do?” She couldn’t help ask the final two questions. “What did you do with Lyra? And… w-why did you have to kill that man back at the apartment? P-Please… tell me… Please?”

Levont Mires.

“Not a fan of motorcycles, sorry. As for what happened, it’s nothing important. But since we’re on that subject, did you see a woman with pink hair fly out of the window before you got here? If so, which direction did they go in? Is there anywhere in that area that would make a good place to hide? Answer quickly, I don’t have all day, and someone’s life is in danger.”

Levont thought for a second as he quickly broke down the question. Apparently, this lady is after someone who was playing the role of judge and executioner. The fact that the lady mentioned pink hair flying out of a window makes things a bit more odd. This pink haired lady might have something similar as him and his powers over the wind. Nevertheless, the only viable location was not around here.

"I didn't see any pink haired girl on the way here. But if you are looking for a hiding place, I'd check the New Bed
ford's industrial district. Lots of factory and warehouses to hide in and it's just loud enough to cover any conversation. But the district is usually quiet around this time of the day. Since you don't like motorcycles, I'll ride on ahead and take a look around." Levont muttered as he decided to rush ahead past the lady and down to the main floor.

Fishing out his keys
, Levont hopped on his motorcycle, start it up and drove off towards the industrial district, speeding past all lights that were green and gunning through the yellow lights. He would have liked to get the lady to talk a bit more about said person who was kidnapped, but he highly doubt he would get far on that route. If anything else, he would have to beat the lady to the location and find his girl first. The kidnapper sounded interesting and he wanted to see more of this mysterious power in action. That and if also wants to see if there was any ways to acquire said abilities. Soon enough, Levont drove into the industrial district. It was somewhat quiet for the district as he slowed down on the motorcycle to a stop and turned it off. He got off of the bike and looked around the area before he felt his coat pocket. Pulling out a seven foot long fighting chain, Levont slowly walked into the district, listening for anything out of the ordinary.

Altera stood up, cracked her shoulders, smiled. "That machine, once it has enough people sacrificed to it, will make a portal. To our paradise. A place where we never have to hurt again. Where time and age have no meaning. Where pain and death doesn't exist. Where for those select few people that deserve it, we never have to hurt ever again. That's why I need to sacrifice people to it.". She smiled coldly. "And I want to see what happens."

At the next question, she laughed derisively.
"Isn't it obvious, girl? Think about what a memory manipulator would do to my plans. He could make people forget about their powers, forget about everything they need to be of use to me and my cause. He could have made me forget about my calling. And then where would we be?" She smiled as the girl and stood up again, placing the water down on her desk with a dull thunk.

"Now. Enough talk. It's about time we picked up where we left off." Sparks danced at her fingertips, before they flowed to the girl's dress and legs, igniting them as the electricity crackled and snapped its way into a frenzy. A small bonfire of orange was emitting from the girl's lower half now, and she expected her to start screaming any second now.

Leaning down and grabbing her by the collar of her top, she threw her forward. A red force field was there to catch her, and three more boxed her in with barely enough room to breathe, never mind escaping, before floating rapidly towards the machine, with the girl still boxed tightly inside.

After it arrived there, Altera dispelled the force fields, and caught the girl by her neck before she could fall, jerking her so hard that the collar of her shirt tore with a loud ripping noise, and would likely strain her neck as well. Uncaring of her plight, Altera pressed several buttons on the machine in sequence. A hiss of steam emitted from a square door in the center of the contraption, which split into four and slid back like a compartment, revealing...nothing. Only blackness within, with a tiny shred of light blinking in and out of existence in the distance.

"Let me show you." Altera tightened her grip on the burning girl. "What real fear is." And with that, she shoved the girl's head into the machine and pressed another series of buttons with her spare hand, making the doors begin to close again as the girl's head hung on the precipice of sacrifice to the unknown. "This, you ignorant girl, is the choice you've made. Can you stand by it? Do you volunteer to be sacrificed to the darkness? Do you?"

The machine was blinking and shrieking now. A cacophony of shrieks and a multicolored light show blinked across the warehouse, complementing the flames burning on the girl's legs. Steam hissed from every orifice of the machine, including the sliding doors that were now closing, threatening to decapitate the burning, redheaded girl who was probably screaming for mercy within.

Without waiting for an answer, she ripped the girl out again before the doors cut off her head and threw her onto the ground, back to her usual smile and composed demeanor. But before she could do anything else, the sounds of footsteps could be heard outside the warehouse. Tch. She still had over half her power remaining, but she didn't want to waste anymore power on another victim.

The machine behind her glowed white. Ah, the self defense mechanism was about to take she and it elsewhere. Unfortunately it wouldn't take someone who didn't know how to operate it with them, so she would have to give up her precious little captive.

For now.

"Altera!" she said haughtily as she looked down at the girl below her. "Remember my name, little girl. I'll be back to finish the job carefully. Think carefully as to whether your powers are worth your soul." And with a blinding white flash, both she and the machine were gone.

Lyra was amazed at just how quickly the man took off. She didn’t have the time to say anything. If he met the girl over there, odds are, he didn’t stand a chance. However, as he took off she knew she wouldn’t be able to leave. On the off chance that he actually came back she was going to have to be somewhere nearby so he knew where she was. Unable to do anything, she sat on the nearby grass where people were gathering due to the fire inside. From there, she opened her jacket pocket and pulled out a cigarette. She lit it with a flame on the tip of her finger. At the moment, she honestly didn’t care if anyone saw.

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

The woman wasted no time explaining. However, it left Alyss a bit more confused than she started off. “That machine, once it has enough people sacrificed to it, will make a portal. To our paradise. A place where we never have to hurt again. Where time and age have no meaning. Where pain and death doesn’t exist. Where for those select few people that deserve it, we never have to hurt ever again. That’s why I need to sacrifice people to it.” She smiled at Alyss again. “And I want to see what happens.”

What kind of “paradise” was she talking about? She was starting to sound as if she were some sort of religious nut job now. The other thing about simply seeing “what happened” striked Alyss as evil. “ As to her other question, she claimed that the man she killed was a threat simply because there was a possibility he could have used his power on her. Odds are, they would have never met. Alyss knew just as well as she did that she only killed him simply for the sake of killing him. Much like she was torturing her simply for the sake of torturing her. She was only adding an excuse to justify it. Alyss dared not say that allowed, however.

However, the second she placed her bottle of water down, Alyss knew she was in trouble. “Now. Enough talk. It’s about time we picked up where we left off.” Instinctively, Alyss flinched, but it was no matter. One again a spark hit her, but it hit her skirt, causing it to light on fire. It didn’t take long before Alyss could feel her legs burning with what felt like the intensity of the sun. There was more screaming due to the intense pain of the flames, and even more screaming as the woman grabbed her by her collar and threw her into more of her force fields. Her screaming quieted only a little as the box made it difficult to breath. “STOP IT! STO-“ Her pleads were cut off as she was let out of the force field and grabbed by the collar. It choked her horribly as it ripped around her.

Still screaming, her head was placed in a dark hole in the machine. This only caused Alyss to scream out more. Her legs still burned, there wasn’t too much left of her skirt, and her stockings were nonexistent. The woman said something else, but was unable to make it out due to her own screaming. Her screams echoed off the walls of the machine and hurt her ears. Every single inch of her was in pain. Her body was screaming at her and her mind was breaking completely as the machine geared on. Then just as quickly as it all began, it all stopped. Her screaming stopped as well as she now lay on her back unable to concentrate… unable to think… unable to feel anything other than the misery and hell the woman just put her through. The woman then yelled at her, causing a tear to roll down her face as she flinched at the mere sound of her voice. “Altera! Remember my name, little girl. I’ll be back to finish the job carefully. Think carefully as to whether your powers are worth your soul.”

Then there was a white flash of light, and Alyss, unable to take anything else, passed out. Her body was virtually motionless. Even the flames on her skirt had ceased. She just wanted to go home… home where Lyra could protect her. What had she done so wrong to deserve this?

He heard a blood curling scream. That was enough for him to locate the building. Rushing to the building, a simple door barred the way. Not taking heed to himself, he charged at the door and slammed through it. He then quickly looked up to have one last glimpse of the pink haired girl before she disappeared to who knows where. Looking around, he then saw a girl lying on the ground, motionless. Rushing up to the girl, he dropped the chain as he placed his ear close to her face to check for signs of breathing. There was some as he smiled a bit.

"Hey girl. Can you hear me? Say something if you understand me? A groan, a word, moving a finger or something. Anything will do." Levont muttered loudly so the lady can hear him.

As he was saying this, he was taking a look at her overall appearance. A good portion of her clothing was burnt and beyond salvaging. Blood was everywhere. Most likely either a deep cut or a gunshot wound. But other then that, she was ok to the best of his knowledge. Her guardian would have a field day with that pink haired girl after what happened to this girl here. No matter, he had to get her back to her guardian.

"If you can hear me, I'm moving you back to your guardian. Just hang tight and don't move so much." Levont muttered as he took off his long coat and wrapped it around the wounded girl.

He then lifted the girl, being gentle as he can while picking up his chain. With his chain back with him, he left the warehouse and marched back to his motorcycle. Placing her in front of him so he can better manage her in case she were to fall off, Levont started up the bike and started driving her back to the ruined apartment. The trip was a lot slower considering everything, but soon enough, he and the girl were back at the apartment. Looking around, he saw the lady laying out in front of the apartment with a cigarette out. Parking the bike off to the side, he waved the lady down over to his bike.

Lyra was rather surprised that the man made it back at all. However, her face showed no expression on it as he pulled his bike up. As he got closer she could make up the outline of what appeared to be Alyss… or what was left of her. He waved her over and she wasted no time getting up and walking over as she took a drag from her cigarette. She neared the bike and was shocked by what she saw. Once again, she made no facial expression. Instead, she merely looked over at her wounds. “I would say we need to get her to a hospital… however, they’ll ask questions about that bullet in her arm.” She paused for a moment as she tried to think about what to do. If she were back in Seattle, she could have had taken her to a black market doctor. Unfortunately, she knew no one here.

“Her legs are burned, and from the looks of it they’re going to be useless to her for some time. Her arm is broken. From the looks of it, it’s broken in two places. The humerus and the ulna in particular are broken.” She traced her fingers lightly upon Alyss’ body in multiple locations. “Ribs: bruised, more than likely. Odds are she passed out due to shock… Did you see the woman that did this? Any idea where she went?” As she asked her questions she tried to think of something to do. A hospital was completely out of the question. Not only would they ask questions, they were typically a breeding ground for Seekers. As she continued to think, she took another drag out of her cigarette. While she wasn’t showing it, she was angry. She wanted to rip that woman’s spine out.

She turned to look back at the still unconscious Alyss. “We’re going to need to get her someplace safe. She can’t be out in the open like this.”

"Yeah. A pink haired nutcase right? She had a weird machine with her as well. I got bad vibes from just looking at it before it disappeared with her as well." Levont muttered as he looked at the lady.

She had a mask of neutrality on her face, but Levont could bet his apartment that she was furious at that pink haired lady. After all, who wouldn't want that lady's blood if they beat up a friend of yours. Looking around, Levont saw a crowd gather outside of the apartment building that the kidnapping happened.

“We’re going to need to get her someplace safe. She can’t be out in the open like this.”

"My place is just down the street from here. It's the closest thing to a safe place we can get. Before we go, I think I deserve at least both your name and her name" Levont muttered pointing out an somewhat old building that was somewhat close to a grocery store before looking at the unconscious girl.

He hopped back onto his bike as he waited for the smoking lady to get on.

Anarchia Iilyavich Vesperia - Sevensheep

The designated five days have arrived and Anarchia is prepping up for the meeting. Anarchia was doing more than just waiting for Igelsias' call five nights ago. She was in fact scouting for a suitable location where she could have Igelsias cover her with her scoped Ruger Mini 30. It wasn't the best nor optimal rifle Igelsias could be using and she made it no secret to Anarchia. She couldn't blame the girl. She was spoilt in terms of shooting, using the SIG 550, but if they had that, then Anarchia wouldn't be looking to buy guns. Taking out the small piece of paper Miranda gave to her, she thumbed in the number and waited for the dial tone. When it got through, Anarchia went straight to business.

Hello. This is Anarchia. Would i be correct that you have the order done? If so, the location is 34th, Spring Street in the industrial warehouse district. Meet in 2 hours. If there is complication, call this number. It shouldn't be on private.

Closing off the line, Anarchia pocketed the store bought phone. It was stupid to actually use her own number for this sort of business as it often leaves tracks. This way, she could just snap the sim in half and toss the phone off the wharf should she need to.

Ani, let's go. I got the gear packed. You may not have to do anything, but i have a nest to set up.

It was important to get the field under your control if one was to survive. In this case, Iglesias wants eyes and ears and that meant spy cameras and small mics on the perimeter. They even rented two 4WD to blend in with the other trucks and vans at the place. Pulling up outside the front gate, Iglesias proceeded to start sticking the small cameras and mics at strategic locations in order to create a full vision of the courtyard. Anarchia, on the other hand sat back and enjoyed a coffee while she watched, in amusement, her aide run up and down stairs.

Well, thats most of it set up. Ill take my 4WD around to that building you scouted. I'll have full view of the courtyard so don't worry. I can pop pretty much anyone that tries to come out.

Just watch yourself. Don't want anyone sneaking up on you.

Anarchia watched the younger girl run off until she disappeared around the corner before returning to stare out the driveway. It was T shaped, with both paths leading to two different roads. That meant that there was two exits should she needed to flee. There was still 30 minutes left. Long enough for Iglesias to set up. Now... she waited.

Amira Karluka Haktanir

Morning dawned on them and Amira was living as if yesterday did not happen. Stretching out her kinks from her joints, Amira went through a series of morning yoga exercise out in the yard before heading back into the house. From the staircase, Freya walked down from the rooftop to the ground floor, her Walther WA2000 cradled in her hand. The quiet girl gave a polite nod of her head as she sleepily walked back to her room. She had probably just changed shift with Aya, meaning Yuri and Nicholas was out patrolling. At the breakfast table, Richard, Fei and Marcella sat there, downing a typical meal of eggs, sausage, bacon and toast with the news on the 100 in tv.

Morning troopers. Whats on the news?

Oh nothing much. Rebels still waging war near Georgia, FARC still going crazy and more African war tribe battles..... oh yea... and a murder in New Bedford in an alleyway.

Marcella used the remote to switch channels and raise the volume.

.... shooting yesterday afternoon, where several gunshots were heard in an alleyway behind Joe's hardware store. Police are reporting that the man, Juan Hernandez, was a known local dealer and that this was most likely, a conflict with other dealers. The body has been taken back to be examined and expect answers soon. This is.....

Hm. Scary neighbourhood we live in isnt it?

It was rather ironic, given that their house was the most dangerous complex in New Bedford. From Javelins to heavy machine guns to claymores. The manor could probably take on an assault and shrug it off easily. Marcella glared at Amira for a few more seconds before relaxing and throwing her hands up in resignation

I give up. You never change.

I cant keep remembering every life i take, so what makes you think i would remember the scum i clean off my car?

.......You don't. I do it .

It was a weak retort, but it just meant that Juan Hernandez's life meant that little to them. Nothing more than breakfast chatter that lasted less than 5 minutes.

Hm..... i wonder if we would get business today? I want to take it easy. There isn't any war going on in America so anything that should crop up shouldn't be as bad as Afghanistan.

Their leisurely chatter continued while they dined without a care when her phone buzzed. Lifting the small device, Amira gripped the small tab on its side and pulled the display out from the phone before clicking the tab straight. The rolling screen became stiff and stayed open. Data and information streamed through the digital screen. Amira's smile got bigger and bigger before she shot to her feet.

To your feet soldiers! Something is going on and i smell business.... at least i smell something that will alleviate my boredom. Doughnut Kingdom is having a sale and i need to be there, PRONTO!

All at the table fell in silent before looking at each other, contemplating on their boss' stupidity but then realises she meant it.

Dick, Fei Marcella! Lets go!

Not even a second of pause, Amira marched towards their BMW F13 convertible with Richard, Fei and Marcella scrambling for their weapons and gear and pounding after Amira. Last thing they wanted was Amira going crazy witht he BMW in the middle of town. With Richard and Fei riding up front, the car pulled out of the long driveway with Amira waving good bye to Aya on the roof, and sped off.
