Rules of your Room

No children. thats it really. its the one room thats away from being parents thats just 'ours' so i dont let the kids in :lew:

I completely understand. Our little one isn't allowed in our bedroom either. When I lived with my mum, I shared a bedroom with two younger brothers. Only rule we had then was that I was boss, simply because I was older.

Now that I only share with my other half, the only rule is... What happens in the room, stays in the room. :monster:

I don't have a ton of rules, but I have a few really

During the Day, if my door closed it for a reason, so don't enter - I'm normally either working, talking to someone on msn or something in private or got somebody round

Don't eat on my bed - crumbs get all over the bed, and I hate it :sad3:

Ask if you want to play my games, but don't touch the limited editions or the final fantasy games - i hate people borrowing games without asking, and I want to keep my FF/Limited edition games in top condition, so don't touch

if you use the pc, go on the guest account - as it stops my little sister from installing them crappy emotion software :hmph:

Leave my Sketch books/Game Concept books alone, I use these for drawing practice or writing down early game concepts, soo leave alone :hmph:

that about it i think :hmmm:

I'll never have any kids running around in my room, I'm sure...so I'll never have to worry about that :lew:

I just don't want people walking around in there with their shoes on, or eating in there. I hate dirt, crumbs, and sticky things. I really don't want anyone laying on my bedspread too much either because it's an expensive white one and I don't want it getting messed up or dirty.

I also wouldn't want anyone digging in my undie drawer or my personal stuff. I hate when people are nosy. Gtho :hmph:

I don't really have many rules: Eat, sleep or do whatever(Save shitting on my carpet:hmph:). I usually lock up personal stuff if I have anybody around. I actually still share with my brother(older), so we kinda take the room in shifts(I usually get it during the day and when he's out at night. He gets it for remainder). It works for us both, so I don't mind. ^^

Although, it does mean that I don't get to play as much as I would like.

the only "rules" i have with my room are all respect based really. i cant think of anywhere in my life where i have set rules its all just context sensitive really. just dont behave like you belong in a zoo and you're half way there with me.

Big Casino

Tom has a kid too, so neither of them are allowed beyond the door frame unless invited :lew:

He likes to get her in bed in the mornings and watch a bit of tv, but i put a stop to that straight away, I kicked them both out and said either get in her bed or go downstairs, Im not having no kids in my personal space

I'm such a cold hearted bitch :lew:

I don't HAVE a room anymore. I moved my bed downstairs after it started getting arctic in there :giggle:

But when I DID have a room.... Well, no, cuz at that time I shared a room with my brother... Okay, but BEFORE that, my rules were pretty non-existent. I've been living with a hoard of brothers. NOTHING is sacred. NOTHING will go untouched, if you need something done you do it yourself cuz everyone is immersed in their own world and rules were made to be broken.

My rules, listed from most common to least uttered, were:
1. When you enter my room you must greet me and smile before you start your demanding sentence.
2. Shut the bloody door, you troglodyte.
3. Don't set any unfinished beverages down ANYWHERE.
4. No booger-flicking
5. No dancing - dancing was invented as an excuse to knock things over.
6. Don't jump on my bed with shoes on.
7. Do not set my room on fire.

I don't like people I don't know in my room. That's about it really. Otherwise, people can snoop all they want- the things I don't want to be found, they're not going to find. I'm the kind of person that, instead of keeping a grain of worry, take steps for assurance. That little teeny tiny worry actually weighs more then you may realize.

I suppose my only rule is that I do not want people to enter my room when I'm not there, my mother used to go through all of my drawers when I left the house which was quite annoying

i used to get home from school some days and the woman would have rearranged my entire bed room, used to drive me insane, i could never find anything and it would do my head in when she'd move my bed in a position where the sun would shine on my face in the morning!

My biggest bug bear was when she'd come in on a sunday morning and hoover my room while i was still asleep!

she used to open my mail as well, but thats another pet peeve altogether!

I'd get home and realise she had gone through it because things would have moved, or she would shout at me. "Why are there cigarettes in your drawer/under your t-shirts?" and stuff like that. When I'd ask why she was going through my room she'd say she had been looking for a pen or piece of paper or something.

No kids in my room.

If you are IN my room, you touch NOTHING but my bed without my permission. (It's a bed, you can't exactly ruin one by touching it :P)

Food? IDGAF, but you better pick up after yourself :ahmed:

Shoes? Just make sure they are clean...

Rules for my room applies the same to the whole apartment.

-No shoes. It irks me whenever my father-in-law and his wife comes over and keeps forgetting about taking off their shoes. They have three dogs (one of them is ours) in their backyard and they don't exactly keep the place clean. Not to mention that their front yard is home to 10-15 stray cats. There's cat poop everywhere, and I don't want their shoes in my home. I'd always have to mop the kitchen floor right after they visit...

-No smoking. Fortunately, my husband is no smoker (or drinker) so this is not a problem.

-Ask permission to use the computer/laptop. Y'know, in case something breaks. That and I'm very paranoid about sites that my mom and sister-in-law visits since they don't exactly pay attention and would just click whatever. Especially my mom. "Look, it says free money! Click here." About two weeks ago my PC in the living room broke. Well. It still turns on, but everything is wiped out. Not a single program installed, and it won't load Windows properly because a bunch of boxes keeps popping up. Something about hard drive disk. I don't know if she did something, but I suspect it's her. Whatever though, I'll have my friend fix it soon. It's a good thing we don't keep important stuff in there...but it does suck that all the files/programs are now gone.

There's other little things. A lot of it applies to my mom, now that I think about it. And most of the time, I'll make up a rule on the spot whenever I see her doing something ridiculous.

Still applies.

But I do have one major rule that I added recently:

NO TOYS. I stepped on my son's blocks (those sharp wooden ones) last week when I got up at 3 a.m for work, and it hurt so bad. I told them, if I see a single toy in my room, they're going straight in the trash. I did throw away a couple already. I don't just make threats.

Hmm. What an apt question! I've never really considered 'my room rules,' -- so there's no time like the present, right?

I suppose my only 'peeve' is this; no-one's allowed to tidy/organise my room but moiiii. I can't tell you how much stuff I've lost over the years over another family member taking it upon themselves to introduce some semblance of order to my room. Sure, my room is a chaotic mess 901% of the time, but, thing is I know where most things are, and hate coming back to a tidy room where all my stuff's been moved around.

No smoking in my house. Thats the only rule i have. I myself am a smoker and dont smoke in my house because it stinks the place out so naturally guests are told to go outside aswell. Other than that dont shit on my carpet. Besides that i dont really give a shit (hurr) what you do.

I've never had my own room, even today I share with my sister (we have a teenie tiny house) so I'm pretty cool and lax about rules and such like. One thing I don't like is if someone messes up my DVD or music collection which I diligently organise. I'm not going to get that mad about it though.

The only thing I will get mad at though is if someone sits or steps on one of my plushies. Just don't. :jimberry:

1. No sick people, or at least sick children. - I just realized this after my niece came into my room a few times and started coughing - into her hands! Then she would touch my teddy bear and then my door knob and it's just...no! Lol. I'm such a germaphobic, so that is terrible for me! At least the adults who are sick that come into my room just cough the other way or into their elbow and not their hands! Hand coughing and sneezing is just so...ugh! >.>

2. If you're a kid(s), you have to be with an adult(s). - If kids came on their own, like little kids, they would just touch everything and possibly even steal. My niece is proof; her guilty pleasure are my teddy bears. I let her take one downstairs and I heard her claiming its hers to her mom even though she was being told, "No, it's not! It's your aunt's!"

3. No eating stuff that you're using your hands for that will have crumbs without a bowl being under your mouth to catch those crumbs. - Because that means sticky hands that might possibly touch my bed and my stuff. It also means crumbs falling onto my bed and my floor that will cause dirtiness and possibly bugs or mice. O.O

4. No stealing. - I will kill you.

5. Absolutely NO touching my video games without my permission! - Yes, I have an old white slim PS2 and old PS2 and PS1 games, but I treasure them IMMENSELY! Do you know how expensive they are? And rare? Not only that, but they're video games, so I just treasure them since I like them. No, no, no! Lol.

6. No digging around in my stuff. - Although I don't mind people touching things or putting something somewhere else, I don't want people nosing around in my room because it's a private place where they're bound to find private things that, of course, I don't want to share with others.

7. Don't unlock the door if it's locked! - MOM AND DAD! Not that I'm doing anything, but I hate it when they use their special key that *I* don't even have a copy of to get into my room. What if I'm changing?

8. No strangers left unattended.

9. NO SHOES!!!!! - UGH! Especially on my bed! OR smelly feet! Yuck! XP

10. No dirty clothing on or a dirty coat/jacket/sweater. - Just...you can't have dirt/be dirty.

11. No playing your own music loud while I'm there. - Just nothing too loud, except your voice and laughter if that's just how you are.

12. No trying to get into/unlock my locked drawer. - There are private items in there that are only for me to have access to and know about.

Hmm...that's all I can think of for now. This was pretty interesting! It made me think about something that is actually really important, though it seems simple.

I always had the TV in my room once I hit late high school years so my siblings would come in and watch some or my little bro would play Playstation or something. My main rule was to not leave like dishes and cups and bowls in there if they were eating in my room. I didn't mind if they ate and drank in there, but I just wanted them to clean it up when they were done. Otherwise, as long as I wasn't in there, they were free to use it if they wanted as long as my stuff wasn't messed with.

When I was a wee little lad I shared the room with my sister and a few years later, my mum poped out another kid. You could say there was never room for 'rules' of our own when it came our rooms because we'd fight etc. Even my old man pops wouldn't allow privacy because "we were up to no good" :lew:

1. It applied back before I moved out but, no food. I don't want crums and trash everywhere. That's wut the kitchens for. I hate vacuuming anyways.
2. Don't be obnoxious.
3. Knock

that's about it. Luckily if I am having sexy time, i'll lock the door but every once and a great while we'll forget etc. We are very private people so we hardly have guests over, sad to say :sad3: If we wanted to hang out with fiends, go out. I'm too lazy to clean and the space is too small anyways :wacky:
