[S/D] Eureka Academy: Second Semester

I'll have my characters finished soon. Been ill with tonsilitis and womanly things. >:

I have two of them nearly done, just brushing up/adding to their history and Daiyu to write from scratch. You'll see something in the next day or two <3

Is there still space free? If so, I'll like to reserve a char which I'll start makin' shortly after I finished reading the whole OP.

Name: Virtus Lacertosus (Latin words of which the meanings of befit him well)
Age: 30
Title: The Guardian
Class: Warrior

Appearance:

Bigarse_Tiger_by_Shimmergloom.png

Credit to Shimmergloom (aka Zilla) at DeviantArt for the image.

Virtus is a tremendous physical specimen, although he was once human (more details in History), at which time his physic was not so extreme, but still quite impressive.

But now, he is an exceedingly strong anthropomorphic Tiger, with seemingly impossibly rippling muscles, and massive arms, legs, and a whole body absolutely rock solid.

With all of his extremely muscular build, he weighs 205 kg (452 lb), and stands an intimidating 6'7" tall. His tail is 42 inches long. Also, he only has three fingers and a thumb on each hand, but they, like the rest of him, are very large and strong.

He wears a pair of black sweat pants, fortunate enough to find a pair large enough to fit over his muscular legs.

Personality: Ordinarily quite down to earth, and pretty easy to get along with, despite the inevitable intimidation factor.

But when it comes to guarding the innocent from the forces of evil, he takes on something of a heroic nature and will fend off enemies with all of his might.

In general he is friendly, and enjoys hanging out with any friends that he makes. They can always feel safe in his company, as he alone makes one great bodyguard.

However, since he has been in this form of a very large anthropomorphic tiger, he has acquired some...animal instincts, and has to sometimes resist the urge to do something that is very animal-like, unlike what a human would do, and doesn't always succeed, which can lead to some rather awkward, and embarrassing events.

Weapons: Most always unarmed, but when he does use a weapon, he likes to use a large, heavy weapon that he can make use of his strength with, swinging it around with ease, making even a Zweihander seem little heavier than a dagger.

Abilities: Command Attention. Able to instantly direct everyone's attention to himself, for whatever reason, need it be to inform them of something, or show to them something, be it a sign of an intruder nearby or that had recently been in the area, or any other significant reason.

Rock Solid. This is a special ability, or more like a special power, that is always in effect, that makes his body so solid, beyond natural means, that it is even resistant to bullets fired at him, making him like giant, practically bullet proof armour, though still not completely invulnerable to them.

Aftershock. Virtus stomps down with full force into the earth with one of his muscled legs, causing the earth to shake violently, knocking everyone in the area other then himself to the floor and throwing off sensitive equipment.

The power decreased rapidly with range and while the effects are still noticeable up to a hundred meters wide, some testing with the seismograph will show the effective strength as deminishing by half every ten meters from the epicenter under Virtus's heel.

History: Throughout his life, he was almost in pursuit of more and more raw power, pure strength, so he could better defend the innocent from those whom mean to do harm to them.

He would climb up mountains, swim across large bodies of water on a regular basis, and other such activities to strengthen himself, as the years went by.

Virtus Lacertosus lived as just another human for many years, but one that aimed to become very strong and protect many people, and in those 20 years, he had always gone by his name given to him at birth, which was Richard Jefferson Smith, often called Rick for short.

In his persistent pursuit of great strength, Rick, when he was 20 years of age, as he approached near the top of a mountain, he encountered a sorceress, that came to him with an offer too enticing to refuse.

"I have been watching you and your dedication to making yourself as strong as you can, that level of dedication is most admirable, Rick. I can grant physical strength beyond the naturally possible for you. That is, if you are interested." she offered, giving Rick a wink with her right eye.

Struck nearly speechless, the young man eagerly responded "Truly? It sounds too good to be true, but if you can really do this, then by all means, I accept this offer with much gratitude, my lady."

After he had officially accepted the sorceress's offer, she let out a soft, amused chuckle as she was about to give him more than he bargained for. "Very well, then I shall give unto you what it is that you desire." the unnamed sorceress announced.

Suddenly, Rick became veiled in a bright light, as he felt his already impress strength growing greatly, but...he felt certain oddities at the same time, as it felt as though he was growing a...tail.

Also, he could feel the very structure of his head changing some, as well as fairly drastic change to his hands and feet, aside from becoming more muscular all round.

As his transformation finished, the sorceress had already disappeared by the time the light had faded away that had enveloped him, revealing his new, tiger-like form, but still very much humanoid, and he had a long tail to complete it this.

Looking over his whole body, he looked somewhat freaked. "No, what did you do to me!?" his powerful voice roared into the distance. "I didn't ask for -this-... I can no longer call myself human like this!" he could then hear himself let out a roar suddenly, like a wild tiger.

"What..have I become? A..Tiger? But I do feel incredibly strong, it would seem I -did- get the strength that I had sought out for so long. Better get off of this mountain, and try find a familiar face, since I can no longer recognize my own..."

When he finally got to the bottom of the mountain, he headed to the home where his parents were living, to try to visit them in hopes they wouldn't simply run from him or something, but when he arrived, any of those very recognizable faces hid from him in fear.

"My own family will no longer see me, or any of my friends, I have become something unknown to everyone, with no friends... I will just have to make new friends..." Rick sighed, as his head lowered, and shook in disappointment.

This was when he gave himself his name Virtus Lacertosus, and began a new life.

He now had all the strength he could possibly have, but did he have the skills? He enters the Eureka Academy in hopes of acquiring new skills to make full use of his great strength, and to perhaps make new friends.

I'll add history and Fusion Vale later in. What I want to know right now if Vale isn't OP or mary sue-ish. Also I need to play less disidia games, it the reason why I made a 'movelist', still feed-back will be appreciated :3.

General Info

Name: Vale “C.C.” Breeze

Age: 19

Title: Student (Lowest Grade his Sect)

Class: Fanatic/Fusion Fighter

Alignment: Good/Chaotic Good->Evil

Appearance: Vale has a young and lively appearance, which fits well with his slender, lightly tanned and muscular build. His medium-length yellow-golden colored hair tends to stay low, with a small bang between his bright green-grayish eyes that shine brightly, but when he flinches his bang may stick up and then fall down again for no real reason. He has a still untouched, unscarred face with no spot of any kind, which may show people his inexperience. With his 1 meter 73 in length, he may or may not actually stand out in the crow at the academy. Unknown to everyone, is that he has a gigantic burn mark on his right upper leg caused by Fusion Vale (Read abilities and history), which he keeps well hidden.

He usually wears his signature orange body warmer that always hangs open with a white shirt beneath it when attending classes or when it’s cold, but usually he just wears his body warmer for upper-body clothing showing his muscular build with a slight of a growing six-pack. He wears a pair of dark-blue trousers or a pair of large dark-blue swimming trunks when it’s warm, but either way, both are kept up with a black belt because they are too large. He usually wears a pair of rough black-dark blue boots on his feet, but sometimes sandals when in class or when it’s very warm. He always wears a small necklace around his neck with a flame-like symbol attached to it. He has three swords, one pair of twin swords and a larger one which can be used one- or two-hands. The larger sword is almost always attached to his back, whilst the twin swords or randomly either on his hips or cross tied over the larger sword.

Personality: Vale is a person that can cause you to smile by just being around him, his cheerfulness, upbeat friendly nature and big heart is mostly a helping hand to Vale himself and other people around him, but can also irritate others because he ‘doesn’t take anything seriously’. Though Vale is a model pupil in terms of psychical achievements, sports and missions, he however is a total flunk when it comes to educational achievements. He tends to fail most tests, and doesn’t pay attention in class, sometimes even skipping classes because he knows he will fail. One of the few classes he (would) enjoy is cooking, which he was fond of from his youth. Though he always looks confident and without fear, deep in his eyes you can see the fear when he’s afraid.

Vale is usually rushing things, and also rushes into battle without thinking twice. Vale has a strong sense of judgment and loyalty, and cannot respect people that show no respect to others or that do wrong. Unknown to himself though, he himself turns into a complete rampaging monster when he has fused with his being.

Weapons: He has three swords, a pair of twin swords and larger one which can be used as a one- or two-handed sword. I’ll list each individually because they are used completely differently.

Vale’s twin swords are the Twin-Flash and Twin-Meteor (TF and TM for short), Twin-Flash has an orange handle with a small lighting build on the handle as marking, with a silver blade. Whilst Twin- Meteor has a red/orange handle with a small flame on the handle as marking, and has a black blade. Though their length is just like a normal sword’s, they have small yet useful added ‘effects’ to gain variation in combat. Between the yellow or orange handles, are able-to-extend chains which give the user added range for attacks (Accuracy problems!), but he can also combine the two swords for a single attack, but will cause the Twin-Flash to give a shock to the user and the Twin-Meteor to burn the hand of the user. Since TF and TM are inseparable, they can detect and find each other when needed.

His bigger and more fearsome sword is the Dream End. Has a Light-blue indestructible blade with a black handle, with a small orange plume coming out at the end of the handle with which Vale tends to play with. Dream End apparently has a mind of its own, which causes Vale to almost never use it, because he is afraid to be possessed by it. However the power Dream End has is fearsome to say the least. Using Dream End for more than two minutes can cause Vale to suffer from random sufferings from headaches to eventually passing out, ranging from a few hours to several weeks.

Abilities:

Though Vale uses a lot of combos and moves, he gives some attacks or moves a name because ‘they feel special and more powerful with a strong name’. Though he is able to use magic like almost all students, he is more psychically oriented and tends to choose to fight more with his fists or swords accompanied with his fire magic. Though he has high stamina, power and speed, he lacks most cautiousness, high magical power, and usually rushes into battle yet he still has a strategic mind if it comes to using attacks though, giving him variety and the ability to adapt to the situation.

Strong Attacks:
Both Magic and non-Magic attacks (Underlined means with Dream End):

Chain and Release: Vale uses the chain of either TF or TM to grab and try to trap the opponent and then charges up for a head butt, tackle or sword thrust in the stomach.

Dynamical Punch (and Slice): Vale charges up to punch the opponent with either Twin sword in his fist, and maybe slice the opponent if the punch was successful.

Push-back blow: Vale places his hand on the opponent to either blow him or his opponent away with a small explosion.

Flame Vortex: Vale summons a fire vortex around himself to blow the opponent back.

Fireball: Vale summons a small fireball from his hand to attack his opponent; can be used in quick succession.

Ember Bullet Barrage: Vale sets either index finger on fire, then fires swift fire bullet-like projectiles to his opponent

Fire Punch: Vale sets his hand on fire and either directly punches the opponent or throws the punch in the air to let the fire on his fist travel in a straight line to the opponent swiftly.

Will-O-Wisp: Vale summons several small fireballs to trap his opponent.

Rapid Spin: Vale quickly spins around like a spinning top with both TF and TM in his hands.

Fiery Rapid Spin: Vale quickly spins around like a spinning top with his hands set on fire.

Twin Fireball: Vale summons a fireball in each hand to attack the opponent from close-by.

Flare Blitz: Vale surrounds himself with an aura of fire, and then tries to tackle the opponent.

Soul Eater: Vale draws his Dream End, charges quickly up to the opponent and stabs the opponent in the chest or stomach: Passes out.

Gigantic, Fiery Slash: Vale combines TF and TM, and then tries to cut the opponent with it. Not-Mastered

Hearth Stamp: Vale summons his being to hold the opponent stuck to the ground, then throws up his Dream End, jumps up himself and then falls down with his Dream End in both hands to pound the opponent with it from above. Not-Mastered

Fearsome Explosive Slash: Vale combines both TF and TM and slices the opponent with the combined blade, on contact it will cause an explosion to blow both Vale and his opponent away. Not-Mastered

Fury Combat: Vale charges up close to his opponent and unleashes a huge barrage of fists and kicks backed up by explosions to increase the power and speed. Not-Mastered

Explosive Aura: Vale defends himself with a fire aura around himself, and then tries to attack the opponent with the same aura. Not-Mastered

Fate Slash V. 7.5: Vale draws Dream End to deliver a flurry of attacks, magical and non-magical and then end with a heavy blow combined with an explosion. Not-Mastered: Passes out for several days/Chance of death.

Though Vale isn’t able to summon even the weakest monster to his side, he does have a spiritual being with him who appears and disappears at his own will. The small being is a small ball of fire with two bright yellow or white eyes. It serves as Vale’s calm and more thoughtful side, and can communicate with Vale and other persons. Though the being itself doesn’t possess any fighting abilities other than being a nuisance or being a source of light, it can in dire times fuse together with Vale to get into Fusion Vale, giving it increased stamina, power and speed at the cost of him going on rampage due to the immense power and urge of destruction. Making not much to stop the rampage it will cause, except for either knocking him out or somehow calming him down without fighting: though the first is usual the better. In the end this fusion will cause Vale to lose three years of his live, burn marks and becoming unconscious.

Personally i think some of the moves could use a better description... and there are, maybe, a bit many but thats up to you...

I'll use your top ability as an example

Chain and Release: Vale uses the chain of either TF or TM to grab and try to trap the opponent and then charges up for a head butt, tackle or sword thrust in the stomach.

Okay for example, just how long is this chain? How would he use it to trap people? Is he swining it around Indiana Jones style like a whip and wrapping it around someone's leg? does it move on it's own and wrap the guy up in chaines? is the "charges up" just running to come closer or is there a mystical element involved in the second part of the attack... That sort of thing, just flesh out the details a bit so we know what we're looking at...

And on a personal note, I do so hope you end up in my class;P your char's dislike list plus my TA would be hilarious:)

ah yes thank you that kind of feed-back is what I need :3. Yeah I better look through the moveset again and maybe scrap some (then again, 1/3 has not-mastered behind them and is more like a mental-note for m'self to not forget those moves to show a steady power-increase later on.) or add more detail.

Side note crud: I see you're also from The Netherlands :) and my character will go for conflicts and (hilarious) jokes all 'round, since that's how I go.

Lang leven de lol homie! I mean my TA has 1, 3,4, and possibly 5 of your stuff i dislike list covered;) and it's pretty hard to look down your nose at people when you're only what? A foot tall? But no worries he's got SKILLZ

Drach's also dutch:P I'm up in Scotland for an internship at the moment so i only half Dutch at best:)

Hey there all, Tipsy and Ringo told me about second semester, and I am quite interested in joining if you'll have me :D Here's my bio Oli, I hope you like it :) And please let me know if there're any changes I need to make to it. Also, I wasn't sure which chair/position in the DisCom was open for him to occupy, but I can edit that in if needed.

Name: Bartholomew Nembers
Age: 17
Title: Disciplinary Committee
Class: Mage
Appearance:

bartholomewnembers.jpg

Bartholomew has a tall, quite slender build, measuring 6'2” and 150 lbs. His appearance doesn't suggest a great deal of physical strength, and it doesn't lie; having been raised in a strictly academic atmosphere, he never had much time for athletic activities, and thus never developed a great deal of muscle. However, he is very particular about maintaining his image in every other way. He never fails to dress in the sharpest suits he can find, and keeps himself as clean as possible at all times. His short, jet-black hair is constantly combed, his glasses never bear a smudge, and his skin is immaculate, due to his meticulous grooming efforts and a well-managed diet. His eyes are a faint blue-grey, and he can often be seen wearing a thin smile; whether it be one of innocent contentment or derisive amusement, at any given moment, can only be guessed.

As a member of the Disciplinary Committee, Bartholomew wears his position's characteristic yellow blazer whenever possible, as a sign that he is quite dedicated to the job. However, when it's not practical for him to wear it, he'll still wear a blazer over his clothes, in whatever color matches the rest of his outfit. His preferred garb is a formal men's dress suit, either in black or grey, and always custom-fitted for optimum comfort and functionality. He owns several of these, each set consisting of a jacket, pants, dress shirt, an occasional vest, a belt, and shoes (and, of course, socks and underwear). The dress shirts are usually black, grey, or white, and have collared necks and sleeves. He also wears a burgundy bow tie fastened to the collar of his shirt, to add just a subtle pop of color. The pants are comfortable, yet professional-looking; neither too baggy nor too tight, so as not to hinder his movement unnecessarily; and he always keeps them up with a black or brown leather belt. On his long, thin feet, he always wears the same types of shoes: custom-fitted black leather Derby-style dress shoes, of which he owns three separate pairs in similar styles. And over his dress shirt, under his blazer, he will sometimes wear an argyle vest in earthy colors (black, grey, brown) if he is feeling particularly festive.

History: Born to a family which had made a quite prominent name for itself within his home city, Bartholomew was destined for greatness. He went to the finest schools from a young age, was tutored privately at home after school, and always made the absolute highest marks in his classes—and he loved it. He'd been told early on that the reason he got to live in a mansion, eat gourmet food, and own nice possessions was that his parents had worked hard at their studies when they were his age; and so he had no trouble with the idea of devoting his youth to education, even if it meant giving up the free-spirited playtime most other children enjoyed. Determined to be the best at everything that mattered, he worked day and night to learn as much as he could—mathematics, history, physics, linguistics, political science—and he became more knowledgeable than most adults before he was even a teenager. His parents, delighted that their motivation and occasional harsh punishments had kept him in line, were incredibly proud; and it seemed a career in a high public position was not too far around the corner for him.

These plans took a drastic turn three years ago, however, when his younger sister, Hepatica, committed suicide, driven to madness over the stress of trying to perform immaculately for these same parents. Faced with the fear of an impending failure she'd known was just over the horizon, she had filled up the immense guest room bathtub one evening, and drowned herself. As Bartholomew had later stood over her submerged body, his mother utterly collapsing behind his shoulder, his father angrily blaspheming over the other, he could only think of one thing: himself, in her place. The possibility that someday, pushed to his limits, he, Bartholomew, might very well himself end up face down in a pool of water, surrendering to the nagging thought of some imperfection whose remedy utterly escaped him. Apprehensive, and disgusted by this idea, he had vowed on that day to never surrender to emotions; and to this day, he swears to himself vehemently that he will never be as weak-minded as his sister, whose actions he merely shuns as having been “immature” and “unfitting” for someone in her position. Even the occasional nightmares he's had about her death merely serve him as selfish reminders of his quest for perfection, and he holds no grief whatsoever over her loss. He won't hesitate to discuss it with others, in fact; for many, the ease with which he speaks about it is actually a bit unnerving.

The incident itself, in its immediate aftermath, had created some understandable social tension for Bartholomew's family. Rumors abounded that Bartholomew's apparent indifference to his sister's loss was a sign that he had somehow been responsible for it, and despite their best efforts to publicly deny this, it wasn't long before his parents had to resign their visions of him ever becoming a well-respected public figure. His mother, blaming herself for everything, merely threw up her hands and told him to “do whatever he wanted,” freeing him from any further potentially dangerous career influence on her part. However, his father, horrified at the thought of so much developmental effort being wasted, found a better alternative: Eureka Academy, a place where people with unique talents could cultivate them into incredibly valuable powers. He had no idea how Bartholomew would get in—the boy had no real experience in physical combat, and didn't seem to exhibit any magic or other special abilities—but, he was determined to find some way; his genius son couldn't be allowed to lead a menial, average life devoid of positive recognition.

Bartholomew, upon hearing about this special school, wasn't about to be excluded from it either. He had been able to make his body completely invisible for short periods since he was nine; and though he'd never let anyone know about it, to avoid garnering unwanted negative attention, he had always been curious about the reasons behind it, and how exactly it was able to work. He was hesitant to let his parents know that he'd kept such a secret from them; however, after watching his father struggle for weeks to concoct a plan for getting him accepted, he was finally forced to admit his power's existence to him, who rather than being upset about it, was overjoyed.

Off to a promising new start, with now even more potential ahead of him, Bartholomew enrolled in Eureka Academy three years ago, and has been efficiently working his way upwards through the ranks ever since. Admired for the rigorous self-discipline he has exhibited through the years, he now joins the school's Disciplinary Committee this term with a positive outlook; perhaps he can educate others on the importance of keeping themselves in line as well.

Personality: It may not be easy to tell from a mere casual discussion with him, but Bartholomew's mind is home to a host of extremely sociopathic tendencies. To him, the only distinctions necessary when analyzing a group of people are each person's purpose, and whether or not they have the potential to be valuable to him in some way. He will attempt to befriend those whom he senses are easily manipulated, those in power, and those whom he feels he can learn something from; anyone who falls outside these categories will seldom get any attention from him, unless it's absolutely necessary. If he ever must deal with enemies or rivals, he treats them with respect outwardly; however, inside, he holds a condescending pity for them, since he is convinced that his unique control over his emotions will prevent him from making any mistakes, whereas his opponents might not be so lucky. Naturally, he tries not to make enemies who are similarly unphasable.

Bartholomew carries himself very maturely on the outside, and one would be hard pressed to see him make any sort of unseemly emotional outburst. Whenever he sees someone do so, whether they're younger or older than him, he pities them for their embarrassing lack of self-control, and feels no genuine sympathy for them, even if the person has been grievously wronged. However, if there's ever an opportunity for him to win extra social favor by doing so, he will put on a good act and try to comfort the person, making even more effort when there are other people watching.

Though he doesn't crave companionship deep down, and is content with being alone, Bartholomew doesn't mind social interaction at all, and many actually consider him to be a very friendly, polite person. Which is no wonder, of course; he plans every word as though it were a military operation. He's not afraid to start a conversation, in fact, or even speak publicly in front of a large crowd, so long as he knows exactly what it is that needs to be said. And even if he's thrown into an unpredictable social predicament, he can almost always gain easy control of the situation by using quick thinking and logic.

When he's not attending classes or fulfilling any Disciplinary Committee duties, Bartholomew can be found either practicing his skills, to develop his powers as much as possible, or mingling socially, to try to keep an eye on what's going on throughout the school. He normally exercises his abilities and spells in private if he can, just in case he ever makes a mistake; however, he has no problem reading books on the subjects in front of others, and can sometimes be seen sitting around in public places reading them while drinking fruit smoothies. Every once in a while he'll be seen with just the smoothie, glancing around the area complacently or chatting casually with other students; however, he hates wasting even a second of his time, so if he ever appears to be merely “hanging out doing nothing,” there's a good chance he's up to something.

On one other note (also see “Abilities”), as Bartholomew has impressive control over his emotions, anyone who tries to insult him will probably fail at it miserably. To him, insults are merely a defense mechanism that insecure people use to make themselves feel better, and the lack of logic behind such behavior is laughable. Whenever other students try to mock something about him—his glasses, his bow tie, his name—he merely stops, smiles, and embarrasses the insulter's lack of intellect so severely in front of their peers that they will rarely ever attempt it again. Since he's been at the school, he's had few such encounters anyway, but every once in a while someone who doesn't know him very well will entertain him by making an attempt.

Weapons:
As he specializes in magic rather than physical combat, Bartholomew's only physical weapons are a pair of identical stiletto daggers, which he keeps in small black leather sheaths in his belt, mainly for emergencies. The daggers are ten inches long from pommel to blade tip, and are effective only at stabbing attacks; their design prohibits him from making draw cuts or slicing with them very well. However, they are good at making deeply penetrating wounds, so it would be possible to kill someone with them if the stroke was placed correctly. Given Bartholomew's lack of combat training, sneaking up on an unsuspecting enemy would definitely be the easiest way for him to execute such an action, but it would still be possible for him to land a serious blow with them during a battle if he got very lucky.

Abilities:

Invisibility—As mentioned above, Bartholomew's first known ability was making his entire body completely invisible for short periods of time, and due to its practicality, this is one of the skills he practices the most, in an endless attempt to lengthen its duration as much as possible. As of the start of this term, Bartholomew can become invisible for thirty minutes per day, and he has complete control over when those thirty minutes begin and end; it never turns on or off at awkward times by accident. He can break them up into smaller sessions, or use the whole chunk of thirty at once; however, he has only a finite amount of energy available for initiating the power, so the more he splits it up, the less total time he gets: i.e., if he tries twice in one day, he might only get ten minutes each time = twenty minutes total; whereas if he does all thirty at once, he gets all thirty.

When he started at age nine, he could only turn invisible for three minutes a day, so he has made considerable progress since then; however, half an hour is nowhere near satisfactory for him. Thus, if it ever looks like he's nowhere to be found on the Eureka Academy campus, it likely means he's practicing it somewhere, perhaps even sneaking up behind other students and trying to see if they can detect his presence. So far his invisibility has never been accidentally exposed to anyone, and he tries to keep it as secret as possible; however, if something were to fall on him while he's in this state—an open bag of flour, a book, a splash of paint—he'd get caught right away, so he has to be careful to avoid such situations when he walks around the campus.

Masquerade—With the proper concentration, Bartholomew can also alter his entire body's appearance for thirty minutes, which can prove extremely useful for stealth or eavesdropping purposes. However, he can neither increase nor decrease his body's weight in the process, so no matter what type of human shape he takes on, it must always be one that weighs 150 lbs. He would never be able to morph into a large-framed, muscular warrior, for instance; however, he could take the shape of an overweight five-year-old child with ease. He can take the form of any gender, any height between 3'5” and 6'8”, and any age five or older (any younger and he wouldn't function), with this ability; however, he cannot transform into anything that's not human, and he cannot become the mirror image of someone else he has seen; though he has control over which gender, height, and age he takes on, the smaller details such as facial features are completely random, and unpredictable even for him.

Exceptional Concentration—It is extremely difficult to stir Bartholomew emotionally, so as a result, his ability to concentrate even in intense situations is quite impressive. He is normally able to keep a very cool head under stress, and this complements his spellcasting and other abilities quite nicely. In addition, he is difficult to insult by most people, so for an enemy to taunt him during a battle would have little to no effect. The only thing that can really distract him in a battle is having to move quickly to defend himself physically, whether from physical or magic attacks, but he can still regroup from such a distraction quickly if there is a break in the attacks.

Magic:

Sublimation—One of Bartholomew's main magic skills is the ability to induce the sublimation of non-living matter; in other words, change a solid directly into a gas. This essentially means that he can destroy inanimate solid objects, or dead organic objects, without causing explosions, which tend to be dangerous (shrapnel/fire), messy, and loud. All he has to do is stand within ten feet of the object, stare at it, focus his concentration, and alter the pressure and temperature of the air surrounding the object, and it will change into a gas—sometimes a visible one, sometimes invisible, depending on the object.

Small objects are easier than larger ones, and the less complex the matter is, the better; he could destroy a large boulder in one second through sublimation, but he is unable to sublimate even the smallest animal due to the complexity of living organisms' internal processes. As a result, he can't use it on a living enemy's body directly. However, he can defend himself from projectiles with it, and he could theoretically use it to destroy someone's physical weapon, so long as the weapon has no magic attached to it and remains within ten feet of him throughout the entire process. With perfect concentration, he could fully sublimate a large sword in a few seconds, for example; however, if he's being attacked consistently during a battle and having to keep on his toes, it would take a bit longer due to his attention being slightly diverted. He could also destroy someone's physical armor with sublimation, over the course of a few seconds, so long as the armor itself contained no magical properties or living organic material.

It is hard to tell when Bartholomew is casting Sublimation, because he uses no spell words and doesn't need to point at his victim; however, it is possible to avoid one's weapon or armor being destroyed by him if one pays attention: Bartholomew has to keep eye contact with the object he's sublimating for it to work. So, if an enemy sees Bartholomew staring intently at his or her weapon or armor, there's a good chance he's trying to sublimate it, and so they could stop him from doing it by forcing him to look away from it, which would break his concentration.

Other practical uses for his sublimation magic include the destruction of incriminating evidence, eliminating an object somewhere around the school that could potentially harm him, and the ability to make a hole in the wall of a room or building he wants to get into. Sublimating a piece of wall usually creates a large amount of visible gas, though, and he could probably only get through a wall one foot thick before someone would notice and come running. Also, the intensive nature of casting sublimation spells is a bit taxing on Bartholomew, and he can only do it consistently, or in rapid succession, for about ten minutes before needing a twenty-minute rest period. He could still try to sublimate something if he were exhausted, but he would probably only dissolve small pieces of the object, not enough to destroy it completely.

Fluid Manipulation—Bartholomew can manipulate any liquid as well, for both offensive and defensive purposes, but his ability varies drastically depending on what the liquid is. He cannot manipulate a liquid that is inside a sealed container (unless he first sublimates the outside container to destroy it), and he cannot manipulate the liquids inside a living organism's body. He also cannot conjure any organic liquid, living or dead, except for small amounts of isopropyl alcohol (rubbing alcohol). Also, any liquid he conjures will eventually disappear once he runs out of energy, or if he chooses to stop the spell. Despite these limitations, there are many practical uses for this magic, and below are some of the most practical applications:

Water:
Bartholomew is quite proficient with manipulating liquid water, and it is by far his best of the cardinal elements. With the proper concentration, he can move up to about 80,000 cubic feet of water (almost 600,000 gallons; slightly less than an Olympic swimming pool) at once. The amount of time for which he can move it directly depends on the volume, though, and he would only be able to control that maximum amount for twenty straight seconds. On the other hand, he could control something as small as a gallon for hours on end. He can either conjure the water or use an existing volume of water, but conjuring it obviously requires more energy, so either the length of time for which he controls it, or the amount he controls, would have to be ten percent less than the maximum.

Bartholomew can form the water into any shape, but one of his favorites is Liquid Glove—a hand shape that clasps around an enemy's whole body (or their head, if it's a small amount of water), and holds them within it until they drown. An enemy could technically escape from this with the right magic or abilities, but they would have to do it before they lost their breath, and the more water he uses at once, the more difficult that would be.

Another practical use of his water is Diversion Shield—a hemispherical dome of water he can create around himself to deflect lightning attacks. So long as he doesn't touch the shield, which extends at a radius of two feet from his body on all sides, he wouldn't be harmed by any lightning that hit it, as the lightning would be conducted through the water. However, if he were standing on top of a metallic surface for some reason, and lightning struck that surface, he wouldn't be protected from it, because as he can't levitate, the water shield does not enclose his feet. He can maintain this shield for twenty minutes, but it can be broken through with the right types of magic or abilities—just not lightning or any other type of electrical force.

Acid:
Bartholomew can conjure and manipulate inorganic acids in much the same ways that he can conjure and manipulate water; however, it is slightly more difficult for him, and it is more practically used for offense rather than defense, since if he were to make a shield from acid and touch it accidentally, he would be injured. He can only manipulate a maximun of 800 cubic feet of acid, for ten seconds, before he loses control and it disappears; smaller amounts can be controlled for longer, as with the water, but the duration of his acid manipulation is much shorter than his water manipulation.

He can still use his Liquid Glove spell with it, but he can only maintain it for thirty seconds, so if someone were caught in it, they would most likely be injured the most by the acid itself, rather than drowning in it. However, that aspect of it is still satisfyingly effective.

Also, with acid, he can also create a very high-pressured Jet to send towards an enemy, a thin stream of it that could potentially burn a hole through someone's body if they were exposed to it for long enough, and a spell which wouldn't work nearly as well with plain water. He can control this jet of acid for five minutes straight before he runs out of energy and needs a twenty-minute rest period; it is not the volume of acid but rather the pressure of its projection that tires him in this case.

A third useful attack he can do with acid manipulation is Erosion, during which he encloses an enemy within a tight, abrasive whirlpool of acid for fifteen seconds, and which could do considerable damage, as well as disorient the enemy by spinning them around. However, it also takes him fifteen seconds to cast this spell, and he must concentrate by staring at the person with his hand pointed at them, so if someone were to attack him during this time, they could potentially break his concentration and stop him from doing it.

Isopropyl Alcohol:
As mentioned above, Bartholomew can conjure only a small volume of isopropyl alcohol (rubbing alcohol) at one time, roughly forty ounces. He can use it for one of its more common purposes, as a minor antiseptic for minor wounds, but he is more interested in using it to try to amplify his weak fire magic abilities, since it is a highly flammable liquid. He can conjure it, then ignite it with his Flame spell (see Minor Elemental Attacks below); but as soon as it catches fire, he can no longer manipulate its movement, so it is most practical for him to conjure it either at someone's feet or above their head, so that it will drop onto them and burn them for longer than his Flame spell alone. He is constantly working towards being able to conjure larger quantities of this fluid, as well as other highly flammable liquids (which tend to be organic and more difficult), but as of the start of this term, this is all he can manage.

Molten metals:
Though he can only conjure a very small amount of it at once, about thirty ounces, Bartholomew can conjure and manipulate molten metal into any shape he wants as well. The problem with using it, though, is that it cools down rapidly after he conjures it, and so his window of opportunity is very short when using it in battle—about one minute before it cools down into a solid object. And, once it's a solid object, he can no longer manipulate it. He cannot use Liquid Glove very effectively with molten metals, since he doesn't have much of it to work with; however, he can apply them to Jet with nice results (perhaps making one small hole in someone), and he can also apply them to his Erosion spell—though it's not enough liquid to completely submerge and disorient an enemy, streaks of molten metal swirling tightly around one's body for fifteen seconds is certainly enough to cause serious pain and burns at the very least.

Minor Elemental Attacks—Bartholomew can use a few weak fire, lightning, and earth spells, but they are not particularly effective, and might wound an opponent at best. He still uses them occasionally, but he does not ever plan on relying on them; however, he does practice them from time to time to try to make them more powerful.

Flame:
Bartholomew can shoot a small burst of flame from his hand at an opponent. This flame is not particularly powerful, however, and will only last as long as a naturally-occurring, non-magical fire would. An opponent could easily extinguish it by using the “stop, drop and roll” method.

Shock:
Bartholomew can send a small burst of electrical energy from his hand at an opponent, or conduct it through a metallic object. It is only strong enough to harm someone, though, and not nearly a high enough voltage to kill someone with.

Crumble:
With a wave of his hand, Bartholomew can draw rocks from a nearby wall or stone floor and hurl them at an enemy, or else slow them down by throwing the rocks into their path. However, the most he could move at one time would be a pile about six feet square and one foot thick, or roughly the size of two adults standing next to each other.

Looks good, the chemist in me wants to point out that if you sublimate an object it turns into a stupid large amount of gas... so in confined spaces it might well cause an explosion:P

Example: water (liquid or ice matters little) the size of a default coke can will turn into about 50 liters or 12 gallons of vapour:) (thats at standard pressure and room temperature)

EDIT: and before you guys get all annoying yes i have actually DONE sublimations to purify reactants for use in reactions, and to keep solvents utterly dry... Really weird to see sodium boil, cool but VERY weird...

Questionable bios

Prince Horatio Nelson Charles The Third (Long name.)
- Erm I have issues with this bio, specifically the history and his Alignment (What's gentlemanly unimpressed? o.o) Is it possible to shorten his name? Also I accepted Crimson Wolfe because that character was more closer to being a human and wolf hybrid. I mean it's a wolf with a human like body type which workds for the character....Horatio is a octopus....that lives underwater....with tentacles....and teaches? o.o It just seems a bit weird to me. If he was a person with tentacles of an octopus and maybe the head and skin of an octopus I'd consider but I don't know if this was a joke or what(no offense of course)o_O... PM me about this.

James Lawrence Hoffman
- Okay so like I said before when you showed me just scrap the time magic. Unless you put time limiters, none of which can be control of time more than one minute, the ability has got to go. With it it allows for serious Godmodding which I don't need. Also please get rid of his life/death control as that is not explained and can be interpreted in so many ways -_-. Aaaand for his God mode
Using life magic in this form would result in the death of anything and everything living around him for a certain radius depending on the strength of the spell.
Scrap this completely. Chances are he won't even get to use this form in the first place so there's no point in overpowering him, especially since he's just a staff member.

Unfinished bios -Tell me when they're finished! ^o^

Nicolo Zorzi
Virtus Lacertosus
Vale “C.C.” Breeze

Now if only I knew how to link Bios like Tipsy did this would all be alot easier >.< Once I find out how I'll link all these bios and put them on the first page....Which I'll Update now in the participant section.

If you mean linking individual posts on the front page, all you have to do is:

* Click the number on the top right corner of the post with the bio in it which will take you to the individual post with a URL
* Copy the URL.
* Then go to your front page
* Highlight the characters name
* Click the globe with the link on it and past the URL :)

This will turn the characters name into a link to its Bio!

(Hopefully thats what you wanted to know, otherwise... ignore me <3)

Also I am glad you liked my bio! I was nervous about it hahaha

Just C and P what i give ya in the end Oli. Gives me something to do.

And now its seems that a good deal of the teachers from EA 1 is missing. If you wish to retain your teachers, PLEASE, for the love of whichever god you believe in, repost in here. Oli, if im overstepping boundaries, tell me, but if they dont post their bios here, can you not count them?

Im about to get the timetable started and i need to know the numbers of teachers.

Also, if its a StuCo, we should have a Treasurer position as well as General Affairs. Oli is prez and i shotgunned Vice. What do you think Oli? It'd sound good with titles

Omigosh Squiddy thank you for telling me how to do it! ^o^ And Tipsy once again you are a life saver :P I think your idea on titles is very good as well. We can incorporate them. Treasurer and General Affairs are great titles. Which Stuco member would take which position. Raist and Eliane should choose :hmmm:
