Four courts lie in this world, near the small town of Grandwich. They are not for most mortals to See or linger in, but for a small few. These few, these Sighted ones, are taken far away to the High Court, much to the distress of the other three.

What three, you may ask? The other three courts of the fey, of course.

The volatile, warm and often frivolous Summer Court,

the calm, cool and occasionally cruel Winter Court,

the secretive, shadowed and violent Dark Court,

and the most powerful of all, the one with the power to rule the other three:

the secluded, unchanging (until now), always watching High Court.

For centuries, the Courts have been in balance. But now? Now, all of the Courts are without their rulers. All five of them, Keenan and Aislinn of Summer, Donia of Winter, Niall of Dark, and Sorcha of High have disappeared without leaving so much as a whisper of what has happened. Unbound fey cause problems in both worlds, and the solitary faeries are fighting for control of each Court. The half-lings have retreated to hiding, especially those of formerly royal blood, for fear of what the solitaries would do to them. Those higher in the Courts with no desire to rule are frantically searching for their missing monarchs or possible replacements, to no avail.

And what of the Sighted mortals trapped forever in the High Court, where time flows much differently than as in the mortal world? One of those poor, imprisoned souls could be one of the new monarchs... if given the chance. The former Summer Queen was much the same, turned from mortal to fey. Perhaps those remaining of the court structure are looking in all the wrong places.

Important Information

Most faeries cannot touch steel or iron. It's toxic to them, and will result in extreme sickness in most. Monarchs and powerful Solitary fey are the exception.

Fey cannot lie.

Fey are much stronger than mortals, easily breaking or injuring even the strongest mortals.

Swearing fealty to a court is to have the entire court's friendship.

Winter and Summer are opposed, as are Dark and High. Only Dark and High can rule in Faerie, where High resides.

The balance of power is currently to: High; followed by Dark, Winter, and Summer.

Fey can choose to become invisible to mortals, though not to those with the Sight or generally to other fey.

Template

Name:
Age: (for mortals, I expect this to be under 100, but for fey, up into the hundreds or lower thousands is acceptable)
Alignment: (Each fey character has an alignment. High, Dark, Winter, Summer, or Solitary. If mortal without fealty sworn, simply put "mortal")
Race:
Dominant Side: (Only for Half-lings. Mortal or fey are your choices. If not a Half-ling, please leave blank/remove)
Preferred Role: (If Monarch, please put Solitary fey for now, otherwise, choose a role from the list.)

History:

Rules

*Don't break the rules of fey in important information above.

*No more than one character in each court, half-lings included, but mortals excluded unless transformed into fey.

*No godmodding, powerplaying, or metagaming.

*Ask before killing or seriously injuring another character.

*You may create as many of your own NPCs to kill or use as you see fit, as long as you don't use them to interfere with other characters. (Much, at least. Some exceptions may be made.)

*Post with decent grammar and spelling. I want to be able to understand your posts, but they don't need to be perfect. Run them through a spell checker and make sure they make sense and we'll have no problems.

Required Characters

Monarch of Summer (formerly a King AND a Queen. Either is fine for now)
Monarch of Winter (formerly a Queen. Your choice.)
Monarch of Dark (formerly a King. Your choice.)

Monarch of High/Order (formerly a Queen. Your choice)

Note for Monarchs: ANY of the Monarchs can have a corresponding King or Queen, but only if the original ruler of the element agrees to sharing power. A single ruler will have more strength than one of a pair standing alone. Also, a bio for a Monarch is going to be put to closer examination than a bio for a lower role. Monarchs are important.

Summer adviser
Winter adviser
Dark adviser
High adviser

Solitary fey of each court

Sighted mortals (preferably two or more)

Half-lings (preferably two or more; commonly of the Dark Court)

Other fey are welcome, and more than one choice for the Monarch of High/Order and Summer would be welcome. If your bio is for a Monarch, please don't state that. PM me.

orange = summer
blue = winter
grey = dark
white = high
yellow = any

Italics = taken. Bold = pending. Normal = open.

[Note: This is in URP because while I've changed quite a bit, it's still based on the Wicked Lovely series by Melissa Marr. Reading them is in no way required to RP and as of now no characters will be returning.. I just liked the courts.]

Name: Alanna

Age: 600

Alignment: High

Race: Fey

Preferred Role: Solitary Fey

Appearance:
61692-bigthumbnail.jpg

Tall at just over six foot, with a moderate build and muscled limbs, Alanna is quite an intimidating presence. She has a pale white face that seems to have been formed of glass or porcelain, with a strong chin and high cheekbones to signal her pride and high station. She is beautiful, in a cold, distant kind of way.

Long blond hair reaches just past her shoulder, only with a slight curl and not a single hair out of place. A healthy white sheen can be seen in strong light, signalling her love of reason, order and logic, even down to her hair.

Her eyes are golden, rather like a lioness' eyes. They are rather narrow and almond shaped, but can become wide if she is experiencing strong fear or shock, or even more narrow when she is angry or irritated.

Alanna prefers simple clothes, wearing long dresses without fur or sparkle to it. She only really wears anything with glamorous appearance when she is going to something formal like a ceremony or the like. Aside from that, she doesn't seem too remarkable.

Personality: Strong and durable, Alanna has a tough personality, and doesn't really let anything get to her, having the inner strength to last through hardship and come out on the other side unharmed. She considers a lack of ability in this department weak.

She is also proud, not often lowering herself to ask for help from others, only really doing it in an absolute emergency, when she has no other choice. Because of this, Alanna is often a solo worker, not even requesting the aid of her own Court unless she absolutely has to. This can be a flaw of hers that leads to negative consequences.

She has the ability to detach herself and look at situations with an impartial gaze. This makes her perfect for her dream job in law. She places a great value on logic and composure, virtues also held in high regard by her Court. She can often appear rather cold and emotionless as a result of this personality trait.

Alanna only really opens herself up to people she trusts absolutely. These people get her full confidence and she will share her hopes and fears with them. This is because she believes that someone involved in law, such as she, should show as little emotion as possible. She doesn't like to feel vulnerable, and has a particular distaste for treachery and treason.

History: Alanna was born as a human, and as she began to see odd, effervescent figures in her day to day life, it quickly emerged that she was a sighted mortal. However, she was the first in several generations of her family to be like this, and as such, she was considered to be hallucinating by her family and friends.

Put through extensive therapy, when the images didn't vanish, Alanna simply stopped talking about them. She became used to these figures in a way, trying to see them as mere pedestrians around her. However, when she was directly approached by one with a gold aura around him, she found them a little hard to ignore.

After her schooling ended, Alanna became interested in Law and Negotiating, with Forensics as another interest. She wanted to help people, even though a lot of close family and friends saw her choice as morbid. It didn't help that women at the time weren't taken seriously. This is what caused the approach of the man with the gold aura.

Taken into Faerie, she was briefed about a squabble between the courts of Winter and Summer at the age of 25. Agreeing to be turned into a High Fey, she helped sort the conflict out with her negotiating skills and prevented a full out war. This earned the gratitude of the High Court and she continued to work in Faerie Law.

She occasionally returns to earth to help in cases in which the wrong outcome may unbalance equilibrium, or when half-lings and the like have broken the law but were detained by human law before the Fey could apprehend them.

I'm in. I've already sort of discussed with you what's kind of what, so I'll post a template sometime this weekend.

This looks so cool! Are you sure it's not an Origional RP? :O I might join this! I'm trying to think up a bio...

Looks good, Diar.

----

Awesome to see interest, Ami. XD I was afraid no one would want to join :wacky:

----

Yeah, I'm sure, Oliver. :wacky: The first book is here on Wikipedia. Beware spoilers.

----

I'm not sure what court I'm joining yet, or if I'll be a sighted mortal or a half-ling instead. :hmmm: Leaning towards Dark or Winter though xDD

Name: Celestina

Age: 33

Alignment: Winter

Race: Halfling

Dominant Side: Human (65/35)

Preferred Role: Advisor

Appearance: Celestina stands at 5'3" and weighs 140 lbs. She is of skinny build albeit not as skinny as a supermodel. Celestina has black hair and cold, icy blue eyes that are of oval shape, and look as if they can pierce through any darkness.

Celestina has long black hair that extends to the center of her spine, she keeps it straight, neat and tidy as often as possible.

Celestina's attire is nothing formal, she wears a light blue T-Shirt and a black denim jeans pants. She wears a black leather belt that has a custom belt buckle shaped like a diamond from a deck of cards.

Personality:
Celestina is best described as being "rock solid under pressure" always maintaining her calm and coolness even in the face of pressure. She never seems to crack in pressure and thus is an ideal choice for making key decisions even if the Winter Court is faced with the threat of destruction.

Celestina is a kind person, who is friendly with others. But beneath that kindness is a merciless and cruel figure who would see nothing more but the anguish and/or destruction of her enemies. She however maintains her calmness about it, and despite her merciless nature, she seems rather approachable.

History:
Celestina was born to a Human Father and Fey Mother. Her father was a baker who made a living selling goods to others, while the mother also helped with the family business.

As a child, Celestina saw what she thought was "funny looking" creatures. At first her mother didn't say anything, though she knew what she meant.

When Celestina was 13 years old, her mother told her about who she really is. At one point in her life, Celesina's mother was a fey, who at one point was an advisor to the Monarch of Winter. At first Celestina did not believe her, that it was nothing more but a child's bedtime story.

That changed when her mother transported Celestina to the Winter Court, where she met with the Queen of Winter. It was through her that Celestina began to see who she really was. She began learning about inter-court politics through her mother, in an attempt to set Celestina up as the next advisor to the Winter Court, in addition to her prior studies. Using these skills, and with the approval of Winter Queen Donia, Celestina was now set to be the newest advisor to the court.

Although she is young by Fey Standards (only having about 10 years experience) she has had the trust and advice of both Queen Donia and her mother, and is capable of giving well thought out advice. Celestina to this day continues to serve her Monarch.

Name: Serph

Age: 1500

Alignment: Winter

Race: Fey

Preferred Role: Solitary Fey: Winter Court

Appearance:
jeremy-gilbert-pic.jpg

Slightly under average in height at five foot seven, Serph possesses a slim, wiry build, though slightly underweight. It is rather noticeable when one combines it with his pale complexion, but he doesn't really take note of it.

Although from a distance, Serph can seem sickly and weak, he is actually quite good looking, although more in a cute way than a handsome way. He is stuck in the form of someone who is seventeen or eighteen, with a soft face that can give him a rather deceptive appearance of innocence.

Contrary to a lot of Winter Court Fey, Serph has a vivid head of red hair, neatly kept in place, although it can become tousled while he fights. His eyes are like ice shards, the bright blue sheen of arctic ice. To add further to his innocent appearance, these eyes are rather round and wide.

Serph usually wears the long black coat pictured above, often with the hood over his head. The coat is a little long for him, almost touching his knees. His legs are covered by thick blue jeans, and he wears either polished black shoes or trainers depending on the occasion.

Serph walks straight backed at all times, with excellent posture. However, due to his preferred dark clothes, and his rather innocent appearance, people are slow to take him seriously.

Personality: Serious to a fault, Serph doggedly pursues any mission assigned to him by the Winter Queen. It isn't so much that he's loyal as that he simply knows who he needs to have on his side. Due to this, he can seem too serious sometimes.

With a cold streak, Serph constantly gives off an air of frostiness. Even when he is being friendly with people, there is definitely a forced air about it, and he almost never smiles, preferring to be alone when not on official Winter Court business.

He prefers to remain quiet, only speaking up if his opinion is asked for, and almost never on his own. Because people who don't know him don't tend to take him seriously, he remains a valuable choice for espionage and the like.

He is also ruthless and merciless, brutally eliminating anyone who is a threat to the continued safety and power of the Winter Court. If an innocent or a member of the Summer and Dark Courts intervened in his duties, he would kill or freeze them on the spot without a second thought.

History: To be revealed over the course of the RP.

Name: Raistlin Majere

Age: 1337

Alignment: Dark

Race: Fey

Preferred Role: Solitary

Appearance: Without his armor
22j3bl.jpg

Raistlin stands at 5’11, and weighs in at about 180 pounds. While he may seem slender and frail, his magic and skills with the blade usually end up silences his doubters without a second thought. His right eye permits him to see through objects, while his left eye is normal. His “clawed” hands can be used as a weapon.

With his armor
n6p15z.jpg

His armor that he wears into battle reduces all magical damage by 50%. It strikes fear into the hearts of his enemies. While wearing it, every square inch of his body is covered, showing no skin whatsoever.

Personality: Raistlin is known for his cruelty and no-nonsense attitude. He cares very little for the value of any life but his own. Sneaky, narcissistic, vain, and almost perpetually angry, it is very easy to get on his bad side. His idea of problem solving is dispatching an army to kill or destroy the source of the problem.

There is no one left living that can ever recall anytime that Raistlin has even given a genuine care about anything, or anyone. Even his facial expressions are next to non-existent, and not a single man in the world can ever tell what he’s thinking. He thinks with logic and cunning, and enjoys methodically planning things out to the point where it’s unnecessary.

A master tactician, Raistlin is great at thinking on his toes, and often does to with great success. Failure is something that Raistlin does not take lightly. He would kill his own kin for failing in a task or duty.

History: To be revealed throughout the RP, and to be edited in here.

Name: Liseli
Age:
368
Alignment:
Solitary with a former affinity for winter
Race:
Fey
Preferred Role:
Solitary Fey; former Winter Girl
Appearance:
silverstone100-1.jpg

Liseli went from a bright redhead with lightly tanned skin to winter personified in a short time, and then to a softer version of winter. As a mortal, her hair was a striking red that looked almost fiery, causing Keenan to choose her as one of his possible Summer Queens. After that plan crashed and burned, her hair lightened to an almost white blonde color and her skin paled so it looked thin and bruised, with almost corpse-like blue lips and eyelids. When the next Winter Girl took the staff, Liseli’s appearance changed yet again, her hair darkening to a light blonde and her skin to a darker but still pale shade with pale pink lips. Her eyes never changed colors, staying a striking green in all three of her different appearances.

As for clothing, Liseli has always favored the cooler shades of colors. While she was entirely human, she wore long, flowing dresses, as the time period she was born in required. Even after spending several hundred years as Winter Girl and having to change her attire with the times, she never changed the colors, only the styles, and had a large collection of clothing by the time she left the Summer and Winter courts behind. Now, as a free faerie, Liseli wears tight blue jeans paired with often low-cut shirts in dark, subdued colors, and black boots with tall heels on them.

Personality:
to be filled in when I have more time
History: see personality

Shameless bump. Yeah. I'm restarting this, anyways, and anyone who was already accepted still is. :3 I'm not gonna let it die this time :mokken:

Edit: just to clarify, Ringo, Diar, and Kevin were all accepted. :wacky: Forgot to mention that.

Name: Faythe

Age: 650

Alignment: Summer Court

Race: Fey

Preferred Role: Queen of Summer

Appearance:
Amberle.jpg

Standing at only 5'4 she is relatively average in height when it comes to her court. her serene beauty is unparalleled her brown hair is waist length and often braided with green ribbons.

Despite being the queen of the summer court She prefers the more simple clothes that the rest of her court wear, wearing long dresses with fur or sparkle to it would be distatseful to her.

Personality:
Seemingly weak and frail Faythe has a fiery and tough interior. Faythe has a friendly personality, and doesn't really let anyone come between her and her friends, nor will she allow any harm to befall them, A loyal and steadfast friend, a terrible and terrifying enemy.
She is painfully shy, even more shy than most fey can be, It takes a while to get past her airs and graces and see the true person beneath them, a friendly heart warming young girl.

History:

[bio to be completed when i know my position is safe]

Preferred Role: (If Monarch, please put Solitary fey for now, otherwise, choose a role from the list.)

If your bio is for a Monarch, please don't state that. PM me.

The parts of my original post that you didn't follow the rules of have been bolded... I really did want to keep the monarchs as secret as I could until the RP started. Plus, your bio isn't quite up to the standard I'd like to hold the monarch bios to... So I'm going to have to say unaccepted.

I would actually prefer if you tried for another role, but if you're set on Summer Queen, you can try again, I guess. It just takes the whole "monarchs being secret" thing out of it if you try again. :wacky:

Preferred Role: Solitary Fey of the summer court

She prefers light leather armor as opposed to the more simple clothes that the rest of her court wear, wearing long dresses with fur or sparkle to it would be distasteful in her eyes to wear

Personality:

History: She lived with her father and mother along with her two older brothers for most of her life, when she had reached the age of 200 (teenagers in fey society) the family apparently for some unknown reason became the target of assassins wearing the mark of the dark court. They killed her parents and older brothers but didn't seem to know of her existence, for they would've killed her to silence her from telling any other person what had happened on that fateful night.
Its been a hundred years and she still hasn't told a soul what happened on that night, all anyone knows is that they were killed and she was found hiding under a crate in the families larder, where she had cried and cried until the authorities had found her. She has her mothers necklace and that has kept her quiet all this time, now she has finally come of age she intends to seek out her families murderers and make them pay

Name: Aerwyn Glau

Age: 793

Alignment: Summer

Race: Fey

Dominant Side: N/A

Preferred Role: Solitary Fey of the Summer Court

Appearance: Approximately 5 feet and 8 inches in height, and with a fairly slim build,
Aerwyn is the total opposite of what one would consider an imposing figure. She has a very pretty face, with emerald green eyes, sitting a short distance above her high cheekbones. Her long, perfectly straight blonde hear trails down her back to rest in between her shoulder blades.

She normally wears a plain white dress, falling to a few inches above her knees. Whislt it covers the majority of her back, the front is quite low cut, and it only covers her shoulders, and none of her arms. When she knows she will be fight, a leather breastplate is worn over this garment.

Around her neck, she wears a fine silver chain, upon the end of wihch is a small silver orb, with four small symbols upon it, each an image of that which she has such an affinity for. On her left wrist is worn a slightly thicker, silver chain bracelet. Attached to this is a larger, though identically detailed silver orb to that which hangs from her necklace. Finally, she wears a plain silver ring on her right ring finger. This is a simple band, with a single image of the sun on the outside of the ring, the part which would normally face outwards from her hand.

She wears a plain pair of flat, white shoes. Again, when she knows she will be fighting against members of the other courts, she will also wear a pair of toughened leather vambraces and greaves. All the leather armour worn for battle is a plain dark brown, with a double band of narrow golden edging. In the centre of the breastplate is a stylised sun, a large circle, with slightly wavy pronges emanating from the edges and tapering off to a point, after only a couple of inches in length. Similar, only much smaller examples of these can be found on the other pieces of armour that she wears.

When taking part in any sort of official business, should she ever be required to, she has a set of more ornate clothes. these include a dress made of a gold, silk-like material, which glistens in the sun, and even seems to glow in darker places. This outfit includes a pair of gold coloured, high-heeled shoes, and a change of jewellery, which although identical in design, are made of pure 24 carat gold.

Personality: When by herself she can be fairly quiet, however this is unusual for not only her, but most members of her court.

When fighting, a new and fiery personality emerges from within her. She uses her abilities to fight her enemies to the absolute limit of her power. Due to the sheer fire of her emotions, she will more often then not go overboard when fighting, and therein lies one of the weaknesses of those associated with the court of summer. From time to time, her emotions will take over in these situations, and she will lose focues on what her true goal on the battle was, and this has cost her more battles than any true weakness of her own.

When with others that she knows, perhaps through other people, or those she would just call a friend, she acts like most other people, only parhaps slightly warmer than average. However when with someone she cares about, or perhaps even loves, a truly passionate side to her personality bubbles over. The true heat of her love and passion are expressed in these situations, and through the power of her emotions, even the natural world around her expands and blooms into life.

History: For several centuries, Aerwyn grew up in peace in the Court of Summer. She served under the two Monarchs originally as a servant, but over the years they became more and more fond of her. She picked up not only more duties and responsibilities, but quite clearly more respect.

Then, the time came for the balance of power between the four courts to tip, and it did not tip favourably for the court of summer. As it had a joint monarchy at the time of the unbalancing, neither the king nor queen was equally as powerful as any of the enemies that summer had to face. The court of summer struggled in it's battles against other courts, partcularly in those battles against winter. These were the most heated battles, with the most bitter rivalries, but as the Monarchs of the court of summer shared their power between the two of them, they were never able to battle even nearly as effectively as the leaders of the other courts.

Throughout this period, not only did she continue in her role of serving the king and queen, but Aerwyn used her powers as and whenever she could to help her court claw back some ground. However she was unsuccessful, and summer stayed where it had been left by the other courts.

And then, the monarchs of each and every court disappeared, all at once and almost without warning. Aerwyn knew something was wrong, but could not afford to go looking for the King and Queen, as she felt she must, when the court of summer was in such a dire position. Whilst those around her were sure their court was damned to lose to the others, she was determined to help summer rise up above at the very least their true foes from over the past years, the court of winter.

She fought alongside those who would, allowing herself to get carried away with her emotions time and again, simply to defeat a few enemies here and there, and prove that the court of summer was not comprised entirely of pushovers, and weaklings, as members of other courts may have begun to believe. Now, she continues to fight with all her strength, relying on her powers, and the powers of those around her. She knows that the court must not only continue to live on, but must begin to grow in power if they are ever to take back any power from the other courts.

Going to apologise now, this is not the best written bio in the world, and I'm certain I've managed to write the same thing more than once in there. Also, not great presentation-wise.

Woops :wacky:

Approved, Lee. :wacky: Despite the small spelling errors. I'll let 'em go seeing as it's like... 2am there.

*trots off to finish own bios*

I'm a bit iffy on your history, honestly... but we'll see how it goes. Accepted. :hmmm:
