Four courts lie in this world, near the small town of Grandwich. They are not for most mortals to See or linger in, but for a small few. These few, these Sighted ones, are taken far away to the High Court, much to the distress of the other three.
What three, you may ask? The other three courts of the fey, of course.
The volatile, warm and often frivolous Summer Court,
the calm, cool and occasionally cruel Winter Court,
the secretive, shadowed and violent Dark Court,
and the most powerful of all, the one with the power to rule the other three:
the secluded, unchanging (until now), always watching High Court.
For centuries, the Courts have been in balance. But now? Now, all of the Courts are without their rulers. All five of them, Keenan and Aislinn of Summer, Donia of Winter, Niall of Dark, and Sorcha of High have disappeared without leaving so much as a whisper of what has happened. Unbound fey cause problems in both worlds, and the solitary faeries are fighting for control of each Court. The half-lings have retreated to hiding, especially those of formerly royal blood, for fear of what the solitaries would do to them. Those higher in the Courts with no desire to rule are frantically searching for their missing monarchs or possible replacements, to no avail.
And what of the Sighted mortals trapped forever in the High Court, where time flows much differently than as in the mortal world? One of those poor, imprisoned souls could be one of the new monarchs... if given the chance. The former Summer Queen was much the same, turned from mortal to fey. Perhaps those remaining of the court structure are looking in all the wrong places.
Important Information
Most faeries cannot touch steel or iron. It's toxic to them, and will result in extreme sickness in most. Monarchs and powerful Solitary fey are the exception.
Fey cannot lie.
Fey are much stronger than mortals, easily breaking or injuring even the strongest mortals.
Swearing fealty to a court is to have the entire court's friendship.
Winter and Summer are opposed, as are Dark and High. Only Dark and High can rule in Faerie, where High resides.
The balance of power is currently to: High; followed by Dark, Winter, and Summer.
Fey can choose to become invisible to mortals, though not to those with the Sight or generally to other fey.
Template
Name:
Age: (for mortals, I expect this to be under 100, but for fey, up into the hundreds or lower thousands is acceptable)
Alignment: (Each fey character has an alignment. High, Dark, Winter, Summer, or Solitary. If mortal without fealty sworn, simply put "mortal")
Race:
Dominant Side: (Only for Half-lings. Mortal or fey are your choices. If not a Half-ling, please leave blank/remove)
Preferred Role: (If Monarch, please put Solitary fey for now, otherwise, choose a role from the list.)

Rules
*Don't break the rules of fey in important information above.
*No more than one character in each court, half-lings included, but mortals excluded unless transformed into fey.
*No godmodding, powerplaying, or metagaming.
*Ask before killing or seriously injuring another character.
*You may create as many of your own NPCs to kill or use as you see fit, as long as you don't use them to interfere with other characters. (Much, at least. Some exceptions may be made.)
*Post with decent grammar and spelling. I want to be able to understand your posts, but they don't need to be perfect. Run them through a spell checker and make sure they make sense and we'll have no problems.
Required Characters
Monarch of Summer (formerly a King AND a Queen. Either is fine for now)
Monarch of Winter (formerly a Queen. Your choice.)
Monarch of Dark (formerly a King. Your choice.)
Monarch of High/Order (formerly a Queen. Your choice)
Note for Monarchs: ANY of the Monarchs can have a corresponding King or Queen, but only if the original ruler of the element agrees to sharing power. A single ruler will have more strength than one of a pair standing alone. Also, a bio for a Monarch is going to be put to closer examination than a bio for a lower role. Monarchs are important.
Summer adviser
Winter adviser
Dark adviser
High adviser
Solitary fey of each court
Sighted mortals (preferably two or more)
Half-lings (preferably two or more; commonly of the Dark Court)
Other fey are welcome, and more than one choice for the Monarch of High/Order and Summer would be welcome. If your bio is for a Monarch, please don't state that. PM me.
orange = summer

Italics = taken. Bold = pending. Normal = open.
[Note: This is in URP because while I've changed quite a bit, it's still based on the Wicked Lovely series by Melissa Marr. Reading them is in no way required to RP and as of now no characters will be returning.. I just liked the courts.]
