Announcements Server move/Downtime

:gasp: We must think the same things.......I suggested a card game simlar to FFVIII and FFIX a few days ago.....the triple traid game is good enough,if not better than my suggestion.

Can't wait for it.....:cheer:

Will it have FF characters,summons and monsters?
 
I'm excited for change too :D
Does anyone know if it will come with the personalised profiles?? thats the thing I want the most! oh and updated SB is wicked cool too :D
 
Does that mean things like the awards showcase, moods etc will be gone/reset?

I mean this is definitely a necessary move at the moment but I can imagine it will be a pain for those who have to re-issue awards and such, seeing as I don't think they're kept track of besides the members who know what they have themselves. XD

Not meaning to sound like I'm complaining or anything, just suggesting that maybe people should print screen their awards or whatever else there is that could possibly be lost so it can be easier to fix up afterwards. >.<

Sorry, I have no idea if this has already been mentioned or whether I'm totally speaking nonsense. >.<

EDIT: Just noticed now that for some reason or another the image of my only award is gone in my profile. :sad3:
 
Just a question.

Will our rep vanish? By this I mean the comments associated with the rep on our Control Panels, rather than the number associated with rep.

We'll have to deal with this necessary sacrifice if so, but I've got my Control Panel up now to quickly take screenshots for memories. :O

The skin may or may not work, if it does work there will probably be some stuff broken. We'll have to see after the upgrade, I'm not familiar enough with the technical details to say beforehand.

Oh, I like all the comments I got in my rep section. Some epic stuff, really. Guess I should screen shot them for posterity >_<
 
I think Private Messages may be okay since they're a regular feature of VB that you don't necessarily need a plugin for. Rep I'm not too sure about. I'm not really fussed about the rep number but it would suck to lose the comments. xD
 
I dont see why we would lose our rep comments tbh :hmmm: I dont think we will lose them if we are just moving to 3.8.. unless our current rep feauture is just for 3.6 then yeah we will lose them. If the number gets reset I will not be bothered at all. Maybe we can all start anew xD. But some of the comments are memorable and I do hope they stay D=.

Well, yes, there will still be an RPG, but it will be different, it won't be the RPG Inferno program, but entirely new.

I'll have to learn this thing from scratch, and I've had a peek at it in the past, never in the ACP mind, and I am really nervous about it... ^^;

I can only imagine how much trouble and effort this would be, thus why it wasn't done sooner, so I must appreciate that the site is finally going to get an update/upgrade, even if it does bring about a lot of issues that will stick around for a while, they should eventually be addressed, then things should run smoother once all bugs and such from it are fixed, and so forth.

I wonder if there will be any changes to staff as a result of the server move and update plus new RPG installation all at once, that's quite a lot on the plate, one could even call that a..platter. :wacky:
 
I still think it should have been upgraded to 4.0 >_> but am happy none the less :)
 
Easy there, one step at a time. Just let things move along at the set pace, trying to skip parts of the set of versions could have a result too chaotic, even this may seem to be taken a hit at first, but once things come together, the update to 3.8 will be worth it, so don't worry. :monster:

What do you mean by that?

It's not like it's a new owner and the possibility of staff being moved around will happen. It's just the forums getting updated. XD

Sorry if I misread that wrong but I dunno why the current staffing would be looked at for. >.< Bit confused. :gasp:

Are there and screenies of the layout/feats of the new RPG?
 
I also hope the rep system doesn't get effected mainly because it provides easy access to epic threads through my UCP. Also, I assume it won't be long but is there an estimation on how long the downtime will be?

Also, in the spirit of starting a new...maybe we should unban a few members... ;)
 
My main concern is whether the rep points will stay. I mean I don't really have that much rep to begin with (okay maybe I kinda do), but there are people with like 200,000 rep and it would probably suck to lose it. Same kind of goes with everyone else.
