SHORT game?

I don't think it was a short game at all. I thought the storyline lasted longer than, say, FFVI, VII or IX.

I completed the game earlier tonight, and I had 61 hours clocked up, haven't really done many of the sidequests either. I think playing it solidly for a good week and a half helps to xD If I was playing it casually, I'd still be on chapter 6 xD

I'd say it was the same length as the average FF game, and really rewarding too :gasp:
 
I thought the game was long, cuz i have been playing for a week and im only on chapter 6. So its not that short.But if what your saying is true,Than why does the game have to have 3 discs on the xbox?
 
As far as I'm aware there are 13 chapters with 11 being 5 or 6 chapters squished into one, besides, you only get about 20% of the trophies from the storyline plot, there are some secret cutscenes and sidequests as with any FF (personally I liked the one in Yaschas Massif with Hope and Vanille) the platinum will take a damn long time to do, though I doubt I will spend as much time on XIII as I did on X, FFX play time: 324 hours; done evrything, now I just play blitzball on it!!
 
I kinda feels like final fantasy X was longer then final fantasy XIII, watching this one was like a bullet to tell the truth, its the scenes that make the game long which most of them are short while some are pretty long. But the thread title points something out, the game is actually short if you rush in it, like 43 hours it is,depends. Thats just like you could complete the game in 3 days,unless you dont have eyes that kill you it could be 2 full days. Not the shortest final fantasy though, short doesnt mean that it sucks. It was an awesome game.
 
i'm about to beat the game... well maybe i hope the last boss is a push over because i just rushed though all the last areas anyway not the longest FF but it is up there the story is a good length for a game these days once i best the game i'll start on the side quest seem like there is a fair bit to do in that department
 
I don't think it was very short. It took me around 50 hours, but thats because I like to sit around and kill things for hours on end so I have an edge over everyone I fight.
 
I've been playin' for like 25 hours, chapter 11. Pritty sure their is only 13 chapters. You could say the story is short but the side quests make the game massively long..
Because i got Final Fantasy X when i was like 10 that took me at least 100 hours to fully complete the story. I was so dumb back then, to be honest..
I got FFXIII about 3 days ago from this post, And to know that i'm already so far through the game, made me kind of sad to be honest. I really feel the characters in this game as i did for FFX (not so much FFXII) and i really hoped it would had gone on for longer, I'm not finished yet but i know i'm close. Just hoping the moment never comes up where the credits start flowing down the screen for a couple of hours.

i thought this at first, when i got to the second disk, it took me around 8 hours to get the second disk, and as soon as i got to the second disk i felt a lot of disappointment. im hoping with the side quests and the achievement hunting its going to rack up a few hundred hours :(
 
XIII is way too short; I was just getting into it and all of a sudden I get to the end of the game. Sqaure Enix have totally messed-up this wonderful series; they have gone for effects in this one instead of the storyline.
If you mean the Side Quests are just to go and fight monsters, then this is un-acceptable; correct me if am wrong, though.

It was a very short final fantasy though i dont think thats a bad thing. I hate stories that drag on and on with useless filler. FF 13 could have been a bit longer but thats ok, with all the marks and achieves u can do it makes up for it.
