Simple Question, We all wanna buy stuff in the vB Shop or Hell if your like me splurge on Triple Triad Cards (even though no one besides me really plays it XD), but we can't afford it due to slow Gil Gain or 1% Interest.

Now I'm not saying go batshit crazy and up it to 100% or something, I'm just asking for a understandable increase to make it a little more useful.

I mean we all have to go to our bank and click the collect interest button but its almost not even worth it unless you have a amount like 10,000-30,000 Gil which is laughably rare unless your a post whore xD.

It's fine as it is. :) There's many ways to get Gil, without relying too much on interest collection.

you would think. except for the fact that when you participate in a competition aka the "many ways" to get gil, you are not paid because @wetheclarifiers decide to change the rules whenever it suits them. even if you were like certain other members and revived 5 year old threads just to tell the finaru fantaji community what your dad's thoughts on that topic were you still wouldn't get any significant amount of precious gils.

i don't think it would kill lord golbez and the #clarifiers to give @wethemembers what they say they will give us. the finaru fantaji forumaru economy is hardly going to collapse because you up the interest gained from the finaru fantaji bankaru. unless i am mistaken and the precious gils do actually come out of your pocket #headclarifier ?

Why is the FinFanForaru economy so poor?

we get a fraction of a gil for making a post and even less (if anything) for a shout in the shoutyboxy. you could spend the entire day on this site and still be a finfanforaru pauper.

the interest rate at the finfanforaru bank is very poor and the finfanforaru politicians, otherwise known as @wetheclarifiers, run competitions but do not pay out when they dislike the victor.

i mean sincerely...greece has a better economy than finfanforaru and it's actually real.

what do the finfanforaru nationalist government say to this?

Yu Narukami, entering tons of Callouts and Clan Challenges, signature of the week and the occasional incentives tossed in sometimes should be in your favour as a graphic artist. =]

What they are doing is seek. Wey do not wahnt eet.
It is very hard to get precious gils. When you have acquired many precious gils there is nothing to spend them on.

I am not a GFXer, how am I supposed to earn precious gils? The forum is set up to favour these GFX people, which is not surprising since most of the clarifiers are GFXers.
The interest rate should be increased.

Perhaps ask the other moderators to hold various competitions that don't require GFX? Just an idea.

Before we revamped the vBshop last year, members were complaining that they were earning so much Gil, but didn't know what to do with it because there were only a handful of items in the shop (around 5-7 items). Basically, Gil and vBShop were useless.

After Fil upgraded the vBshop, there were a lot more perks and incentive for members. So I figured that was a good opportunity to get members involved in the site -- with effort. Since then, there's a lot more items in the vBShop now. I took that into account and have also decreased other prices here and there. It may not be noticeable, but I've done that more than a few times now.

Now that there's items in the shop, we expect that members will have to invest some time and effort to earn Gil. Do we expect someone to buy all the items in the vBShop within a few months just by posting or collecting interest? Of course not. Your activity alone and how active you are on the forums, isn't just a factor. It's how you choose to be active. We also run competitions now and then, so a bulk of your Gil will most likely come from that. Admittedly, we don't have regular competitions running on a weekly/monthly basis like SOTW/GFX Clans, but we'll work on this soon and see what we can come up with. More Gil will be handed then.

As for the interest, I've already calculated this when we launched vBShop a few years ago. An average user can earn 100 - 400 Gil a month (interest collection included), depending on their activity. And I don't mean just logging in and mainly chatting in the SB.

On top of that, donations. Members who don't care to use Gil will typically donate to other members. I see this happen often. Imagine someone who has over 50,000 Gil (yes, these members exist) handing out Gil to others? The recipients then let it collect interest, etc. See where this is going?

We also hand out Gil to members every now and then, recognizing some individuals for contributing here and there. I haven't really had time to go around and hand out 300 - 500 Gil (sometimes more) to random members lately, but I tend to do this normally.

Add things up and 1% interest is actually reasonable. I've been on other forums that used the vBShop. Some choose 0.5% interest. Any higher than 1%, and that disrupts the stable flow, especially for many users who have more than 20,000 Gil on their bank. There's some people who are earning 2,000 - 3,000 Gil a day, just on 1% interest alone. An average veteran user usually earns 100 - 300 Gil a day, and that's perfect. Some are even collecting more. I've seen the logs, so things are fine as it is. We don't expect you to get rich by posting alone -- there's a lot involved in it.

I'll increase the Gil per post. Right now it's 1 Gil per post, and 5 Gil per thread.

It'll now be: 5 Gil per post, 10 Gil per thread. We'll make sure to use the vBShop Promo more often as well. http://www.finalfantasyforums.net/threads/54210-vBShop-Promo

Things should ease up a bit, without disrupting the 'economy' with members making a fortune and living off on interest alone. That's no fun. :)

In my honest opinion, what do people really buy in the VB? I mean there are only a few items that cost a couple thousand... after that it is all little things.
I use to buy Triple Triad cards, and I bought a Moogle and Tonberry :elmo: but those come out so far inbetween that you have plenty of time to save up.

So in the end, I have to say the way it is, is just fine.

lol Actually Kira, I have like maybe 4700 gil in my bank now, I used to have 27,000 but I normally just donated to members who needed something in the vB shop xD stuff that killed my bank account was the Chocobo/Tonberry/Moogles xD.

And Mitsuki Thank you very much for your input, I agree with all the points you made on this and thanks for upping the Post/Thread Gil Gain, I honestly didn't know how much each was really xD

i literally quit my job and am able to live off the 300 precious gils i get in interest per day.

i think it is fun to be FinFanForaru rich. i do apologise if that doesn't fit in with the FinFanForaru nationalistic view of fun where every single person has to log on, role play for 14 hours, post in the shoutbox 3 times and make 40 posts in the temple of the ancients. @wethenoncontributingmembers should just be permabanned on the basis that we only make serious serious threads and not debates about whether cloud is a jain or sephiroth's sword is bigger than the empire state building.

you have 75k because you refused to participate in the survivor challenge that required you to actually do something.

instead you went and took a photo of a white blob against a tree.

i mean sincerely.

You're welcome, Aaron. :)

I'll go ahead and close this now.
