Should Beatrix have been an optional Secret character?

That would make Steiner pointless...

... but I don't like him anyway. Also, sometimes I disliked how Zidane and Garnet are the only two attractive playable characters. The other ones are either cute or ridiculous looking. Another *humanoid* one that looks pretty decent would have been nice.
 
i think that it should have been where if you can get to the lifa tree the second time under a certain amount of time that betreaix meets you and asks to join the party. and also you have the option to refuse her offer to join if you don't like her or dont want her help for any reason
 
that would have been awesome! imagine her trance attacks/ form !!!! :D
i think the should make a psp version of her point of view of the story ;D

i think thats a great idea but maybe instead of the lifa tree it should be either after you beat her the 3rd time in disk two OR when the town is under attack
