Skateboarding

I used to skateboard with my brother when I was around 8. Ah yes, I remember now. One of my aunts gave me a skateboard for my 8th birthday. How I played? Well, I sat down on the board, placed my two feet in front of me, and held onto the sides...while my brother pushed me and I steered, vice versa. xD That was so fun.

I've only ever skated once. Here's a photo taken two seconds after I stepped onto the board.

I think most skaters today fall into two categories: sports skaters and rebel skaters. I'm not sure labeling skaters as rebels is really truthful but they certainly do catch a lot of shit for their hobby than other people. Even so there are people who barely rebel at all and are just all about acing tricks.

I actually remember seeing that first image before xD Busta showed it to us all in that staff chat thread, I think, and told us all about your hilarious fall xD

Eh, as for me, I've got no co-ordination or skill whatsoever when it comes to skating xD Not even on Tony-bloody-Hawks.

These kinds of skills need to be learned when you are really small. The same thing applies to skiing, ice boarding, ice skating and so on. I learned how to skate as soon as a learned how the walk.

I used to skate back in my high school days. During my first day of high school I skipped all day and skated all around town. I wasn't any good, but I wasn't bad, either. The best trick I ever landed was a heelflip off a ramp landing into a fakie manual. I also executed a k-grind once.

That's exactly what I did. XD Well, kinda. When I first got into skateboarding I was too scared to stand up on a board so would go down hills sitting down. I like to skateboard but I'm not good at it, the limit of my skills is standing on a board whilst it rolls down a hill. Hell, it took me years to be able to steer! Going down a shute in a playpark on a skateboard was one of my more... stupid decisions though. xD I got to the bottom, fell face first onto the gravel and my skateboard flew into the air and crashed down onto my back. Boy that hurt like hell. ><

Hah. Yeah I've always had a problem going down a hill on a skateboard (standing on it) or rollerblades. It took A LOT of guts. That was years ago though. Now I am pretty damn certain that I won't be able to stand even on a skateboard or rollerblades.

That's just not bloody true. I've skated just about every Brisbane spot, and gotten pretty alright along the way. But, I've only been doing it since I was ten, and I've had mates who picked it up as late as 16 or 17.

Anyway, yeah, I skate. I skate trans-street (transitian is street on skate parks and similar spots).

I still skate every now and then but not as much as I did in High School, it was the only way I got around. The kids that are becoming pros are now getting younger and younger its crazy
