i just recently heard of the GBA version, but i was wondering if it was worth buying for the additional features, or if i should just stick with the old SNES rom? i havent played this game in a couple years, and i was thinkin about picking it back up.

so, should i stick with the SNES rom, or fork up for the GBA version and have a blast on my DS?

I would stick with the ROM unless you really need to have it for the DS. I would only suggest buying the game if you had never played it before.

GBA one has extra dungeons from what i have heard along with a few more espers but i don't like it when they port the snes ones so i'm not going to bother since i'm currently replaying the jap snes version translated by RPGOne.

I'd definitely buy it for GBA. A computer isn't as easy to carry around as a game boy, and its only like, 30 bucks. Plus if it sells well it shows SE that the older fans of the FF series are willing to buy remakes of their game as well as younger kids willing to experience them, hopefully spurring ps3 or handheld remakes of the PSOne FFs

I would definitely get it just for the new espers/dungeons

I just like the GBA one because of the portibility, for it being one of the best FF games, and never able to play it on the SNES.

Ahh, you left out the version for us "Anthology-ers"! Playstation version all of the way! However, it did have its flaws (damn slow load times...), but overall, that's the version I played and loved the game.

Pfft. My 'Anthology' includes IV and V. VI was seperate. European version ftw! :P (tho you guys got Chrono Trigger with IV in 'Chronicals' but ah well)

But even tho my PS version was the first one I ever played of VI, and was the one that got me hooked to the game, I must admit it suckes. The slow loading times among other tad bits is what lets it down.

If it works fine on your SNES, I would just stick with that one unless you really want it for the GBA. Yes, the PS version has veeeeeeeeeery slow loading! So I wouldn't go with that version.

Moonchild, I think you made a typo. We got Chrono Trigger with IV in chronicles. ;) And we got V and VI with anthology.

Yes....a typo....ofcourse *cough*.... >_<

I prefer the GBA version best - i dont have a SNES and getting an emulator was tedious work - trying to get a decent amount of playtime on an emulator too is hard - plus with the GBA its portable and fun for long boring car trips ^_^

I've heard that if you play the game on a ps2 it will decrease the loading times is this true? After all the ps2 is much more faster at reading disks then the ps1.

This is meant to be one of th ebest FF games but I've never been able to play it. I really want to get the GBA version but It doesn't have a PAL release date... It could be a while before we get it here in Australia, if we get it at all.

A Question: Is it really all it's cracked up to be?
