*got the idea for this thread from another forum. I hope I placed this in the right place. :hmmm:*


What was your reaction to the end of Toonami? Was it a good thing, a bad thing? Do you miss it? For those who don't know what Toonami was, you can find out its awesomeness here.

My reaction?

It was a big disappointment. I knew that its ending would bring endless amounts of garbage and ruin the channel.

The ending of Toonami hit me hard. I was a big fan of it; Dragon Ball, Dragon Ball Z, Gundams, Zoids, and Courage the Cowardly Dog, Dexter's Laboratory...oh how I missed watching it after that. Its not the same watching DBZ on Nicktoons.

It angered me, made me sad, made me want to destroy the channel. Why? Because Toonami made that channel.

I had hoped one day it would be brought back. 11 years of awesomeness and I watched since I was just a kid to its death in 'o8.

Also...think of all the poor kids and people who missed out on its awesomeness :gonk:

i loved this.. dragon ball z, beyblade, sailor moon... ohhh why did you have to go :hmph:
 
i was devastated. :C It had been around for sooooo long it was just weird to not have it around. I remember I stopped watching that channel after it was taken off. I just didn't think the channel would be the same.

I used to love watching toonami so much. Q-Q Justice League was one of my fav shows to watch after school. :inlove: Oh, and watching DBz was one of my favorite things to do after school as well. I just loved when great anime shows were played earlier. God, does anyone remember when they used to play YuYu Hakusho?? :gonk: What a great part of my t.v. watching childhood. :cali:

FYI, angry europeans don't know the epicness of NA programs like this so... yeah :grin:

And honestly, I had no idea they got taken off the air tbh, this is news to me :monster: considering the as I see it 'good' TV shows went bad a long time ago, i'm not that bothered :hmmm:
 
Didn't Toonami end ages ago? :wacky:

I think I watched it in the early days of its run when it had somewhat decent shows on. I don't think I'd watched it in years when it finally ended though. :hmmm:

Yea, it ended in 2008. But a thread was up on another forum and it caught my interest, so I wanted to see what everyone where thought about it. :P
 
well i know the uk got it cuz i remember just sitting all day watching beyblade and digimon on it.. when it first came out i remember fighting my sister for the tv.. she would want cbbc for twinnies and i would want Toonami for either digimon, pokemon, beyblade or sailor moon.. one of them four XD
 
I thought he was committing suicide when he jumped out of that window.

Since he didn't, that wasn't as powerful a goodbye. He flew off which gives hope that it will return.

I don't have any idea who he is. Toonami used to air here too I think (I used to watch it in the morning when I was younger), but I didn't ever know what it was at the time. I just used to think they shouted 'Toonami!' on Cartoon Network because it was cool. I think there were shows they used to air, but I thought they were pretty much the same shows that Cartoon Network would air anyway.
 
I hated this new guy. I miss the old host. :hmph:


I used to watch Toonami every day after school. They had all the best shows. ^_^
 
Over in the UK, Toonami! was at first a show where they show other shows, this was on fox kids (that channel was awesome as well :hmph:) then it moved to cartoon network, then it became it own tv channel, and then finally when it disappeared it became Disney XD, sooo it moved channel quite a few times over here and it even became a channel over here.. i dn if it did over in america :wacky:
