I did actually use them, although tbh I'm not all that sure why, lI didn't think Id ever used them until I looked at my last save file and I was like ....wot?
It was ok, but I'd much rather have used a sword really, I can only assume I needed the range or something, either that or it had some kind of status effect I wanted or summat....and chances are I wouldn't of had a gun in my inventory, not that they were much cop either mind
I think most weapons other than the big swords are useless really, there should have been set classes
Guns were alright, don't use them much, except for when I'm in a sandstorm or the like, I switch bows for them (as accuracy of guns isn't effected) then when in normal weather, I go back the the bows. I like to keep one of my party of 3 ranged, for healing of the other two (plus they are out of the way of all the AoE crap).
I didn't know there were bombs.... But I use guns and bows for Balthier and Fran... I kept them as rangers as I found it effective in my opinion... I'd send them close to a monster, shoot them, then run away. The monster would be too busy chasing the ranger that my other guys will be able to strike it often without it hitting my ranger... Then it would be engaged in battle with my two strong fighters and my ranger will be free to shoot at will.
About the only tactic you can pull into this game with its battle system I found.
Yes actually. I don't remember which one I used, but it had an effect that worked wonders for me through a portion of the game...if only I could remember what it was...
I use them a bit because I can get all the power of an axe or hammer (except Scorpion Tail/Golden Axe) with better range. Plus you can give Stun Bombs and other ones that have effects. It's entertaining to throw a stun bomb at a frog enemy in mid-leap.
Haha, ermmm...I didn't even know there were hand bombs and if I got them I didn't pay much attention. >.<
I wasn't one for distance weapons apart from Fran(Bow)/Balthier(Gun) apart from those two everyone else I had used swords.
Na, I tried using them but there damage compared to other things blowed. All of the ranged weapons in FF12 suked for the most part, its all about the melee weap's in this one.
i never used them, the only reason i got the license for them was either to get to the licenses behind them or when i was filling the license page thing
I never saw the point in using hand bombs, seeing as how they don't take off nearly as much damage as a sword or an axe. If I wanted to use a weapon with a good range, I'd just use a bow or a gun.
Volcano/Castellano combo was a decent substitute for the Morning Star which was my most powerful Axe/Hammer for a while, until I got the Scorpion Tail.
Think about this. Most Axes and Hammers have basically no element or effect except for a few, but there are Water Bombs and many incendiaries that have effects (Stun Bombs, anyone?)
I have never used them....to the point that I don't even know what they do =/
I never found them useful or anything, they always had lower stats so I never even bothered with them, I never bothered with Pistols either, they had such low power, such doesn't make sense to me really, but then again this FF nothing has to make sense :3
i used hand bombs at paramina rift with balthier because it just seemed like a good idea and it also did a fair bit of damage to the enemeys i faced, allthough further on in the game i wouldnt use them but at mt ber omnise it is relli good, my baltheir usually had guns or bows as weapons never had him with a sword, it proved good for attacking at range to lvl up easier with out actually having to engage in combat, if for low levels, but i had a higher level soit was just by getin lp
I used them once, for Ashe, I bought a new sword and sold the old one to get enough money for it, and I didn't realize i didn't have the license for it yet. So I had to equip Ashe with my only weapon in the inventory, Hornito (Hand-Bomb), they aren't really strong nor that effective. But that was the only time I used bombs then once I got enough LP I equipped the sword and got the license.
They deal random damage like the Handaxes. However, people overlook their usefulness by using brute force. The ammunition deals status effects that benefit low level parties. Better to deal the status effect and damage as well.
Most of the more powerful handbomb types are really effective, even more so than a gun I'd say. But I rarely use them, I remember like once or twice I swapped Balthier's gun for a handbomb. I think they have high critical hit ratios. Other than that handbombs didn't really appeal to me so I never used them. :laguna:
