I'm just wondering if maybe the forums could do something to remember 9/11 this sunday... cuz it was a very sad day for people around the world that day.. soo I was wondering if maybe we could do just something for that day to remember the people that was affected by that day :(

I doubt it, there have been a lot of tragic events in the history of the world

To dedicate something to just one would be unfair, a lot of members aren't even American

Not saying it isn't sad, but it is just one of countless atrocities

We should do something for princess Dianna. They're still going on about her on TV.

Edit: Also, I do not like this idea.

haha... do u know i'm not american :wacky: just an idea to put forward that why these threads are here for :P

I like the idea, but, of course, that would mean we'd have to dedicate a day to the Holocaust where many more innocent lives were lost. Or any wars. And as Licky said, not everyone here is American (I know you're not but just sayin' :gasp:), and from what I've seen, a lot of the non-Americans don't care much for the US anyways.

Perhaps the best way to honor a day is just do a thread about it, Stevie.

An honorable idea though.

haha :) yh good idea :) didn't think of that :wacky:

Maybe if all of us forum users dedicated a prayer for a minute or two for the souls of those who passed in the 9/11 tragedy.

To all those who lost their lives in the tragedy of 9/11,
And to those whose lives were touched by this act of selfish terrorism,
We pray for you and yours. We hope that soon,
That one day,
You may find peace in your lives.
That one day,
You can stand up and hold your head high.
There are those who have managed to pull themselves out of the gutter of despair, and we honor them.
There are those who have yet to find peace, and so we wish them well.

In honor of all those whose lives were touched by 9/11 and the act of disunity,

Requiescant in Pace

it was an unfortunate turn of events, but there are plenty of ways to honor the memories of those who were lost in 9/11 besides requesting a community of users do something special in commemoration.

most people don't agree with the notion of even remembering the day 10 years later. I, personally, support the idea of doing something for 9/11. Especially since terrorism is such a big threat in the world for many countries. But, again, most people think we should just ignore the day or keep it in storage rather then display for the whole world.

And like it's been said, not everyone here is American so they don't care for the day like Americans do, not saying they don't feel sympathy for the ones lost but they don't have a national-hurt that we americans associate to that day.

If you really wanna show support, the best way is to just have a moment of silence tomorrow, maybe show a banner of remembrance. But other than that, there's not much else to be done.

Thanks for starting a topic like this. :ryan:

I was thinking of maybe making a thread where people put their memories of that day and maybe put a little message??? how about that???

That's a great idea. I can even remember the clothes I was wearing, what it felt like that day... I'll post in it if you create it.

Am I the only person that doesn't remember 9/11? :sad3: I didn't hear about it till a year later when I was 8. Which would probably explain why whenever people bring up 9/11 I don't think much of it.

ok where would the best place be to put it.. and any ideas for a title :)

I have a lot of respect for those that lost loved ones during the attack on the WTC, however I don't think a 'dedication' is right, either. If you want them remembered, remember them in your heart, you always feel the sympathy for people going through that. Wear a ribbon, that alone is enough. It shows your thoughts are with those that lost their lives, and with their family and friends.

Not to be disrespectful, but a lot of other things are going on in the world, and even though this was traumatic and is still a painful day to most Americans, I don't see this happening for anything else that goes on everyday.

I don't want to say it's ignorant, but it's a little ott to make a whole dedication to it, if you catch my drift.

I just hope that the people who did lose loved ones during the whole mess have been able to give it a place to rest and have moved on.

@Stevie Wonder, I think the best place to create the thread for it would be The Sleeping Forest. =)

I don't see the problem in making a thread about 9/11 for all the people who want to remember it. If you don't want to remember it you can just avoid it like I will.

Go ahead and make a thread I reckon

I must admit I find things like this very ostentatious.
Surely there are better ways of honouring or remembering or whatever you plan to do, than making a thread on some finaru fantariji forum.
